Esdras 7
1 E passadas estas coisas do reinado d'Artaxerxes, rei da Persia, Esdras, filho de Seraias, filho d'Azarias, filho d'Hilkias,
Now after this, during the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra came up from Babylon. Ezra's ancestors were Seraiah, Azariah, Hilkiah,
2 filho de Sallum, filho de Zadok, filho d'Ahitub,
Shallum, Zadok, Ahitub,
3 filho d'Amarias, filho d'Azarias, filho de Meraioth,
Amariah, Azariah, Meraioth,
4 filho de Zerachias, filho de Uzi, filho de Bukki,
Zerahiah, Uzzi, Bukki,
5 filho d'Abisua, filho de Phineas, filho d'Eleazar, filho d'Aarão, o summo sacerdote;
Abishua, Phinehas, Eleazar, who was son of Aaron the high priest.
6 Este Esdras subiu de Babylonia; e era escriba habil na lei de Moysés, que deu o Senhor Deus d'Israel; e, segundo a mão do Senhor seu Deus, que estava sobre elle, o rei lhe deu tudo quanto lhe pedira.
Ezra came up from Babylon and he was a skilled scribe in the law of Moses that Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given. The king gave him anything he asked since the hand of Yahweh was with him.
7 Tambem subiram a Jerusalem alguns dos filhos d'Israel, e dos sacerdotes, e dos levitas, e dos cantores, e dos porteiros, e dos nethineos, no anno setimo do rei Artaxerxes.
Some of the descendants of Israel and the priests, Levites, temple singers, gatekeepers, and those assigned to serve in the temple also went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes.
8 E no mez quinto veiu a Jerusalem; que era o setimo anno d'este rei.
He arrived in Jerusalem in the fifth month of the same year.
9 Porque no primeiro dia do primeiro mez foi o principio da subida de Babylonia: e no primeiro dia do quinto mez chegou a Jerusalem, segundo a boa mão do seu Deus sobre elle.
He left Babylon on the first day of the first month. It was on the first day of the fifth month that he arrived in Jerusalem, since the good hand of God was with him.
10 Porque Esdras tinha preparado o seu coração para buscar a lei do Senhor e para fazel-a e para ensinar em Israel os seus estatutos e os seus direitos.
Ezra had established his heart to study, carry out, and teach the statutes and decrees of the law of Yahweh.
11 Esta é pois a copia da carta que o rei Artaxerxes deu ao sacerdote Esdras, o escriba das palavras dos mandamentos do Senhor, e dos seus estatutos sobre Israel.
This was the decree that King Artaxerxes gave Ezra the priest and scribe of Yahweh's commandments and statutes for Israel:
12 "Artaxerxes, rei dos reis, ao sacerdote Esdras, escriba da lei do Deus do céu, paz perfeita, e em tal tempo.
“The King of kings Artaxerxes, to the priest Ezra, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven:
13 Por mim se decreta que no meu reino todo aquelle do povo d'Israel, e dos seus sacerdotes e levitas, que quizer ir comtigo a Jerusalem, vá.
I am ordering that anyone from Israel in my kingdom along with their priests and Levites who desires to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.
14 Porquanto da parte do rei e dos seus sete conselheiros és mandado, para fazeres inquirição em Judah e em Jerusalem, conforme á lei do teu Deus, que está na tua mão;
I, the king, and my seven counselors, send you all out to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem according to God's law, which is in your hand.
15 E para levares a prata e o oiro que o rei e os seus conselheiros voluntariamente deram ao Deus d'Israel, cuja habitação está em Jerusalem;
You are to bring the silver and gold that they have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem.
16 E toda a prata e o oiro que achares em toda a provincia de Babylonia, com as offertas voluntarias do povo e dos sacerdotes, que voluntariamente offerecerem, para a casa de seu Deus, que está em Jerusalem.
Freely give all the silver and gold that all of Babylon has given along with what is freely offered by the people and the priests for the house of God in Jerusalem.
17 Portanto, logo compra com este dinheiro novilhos, carneiros, cordeiros, com as suas offertas de manjares, e as suas libações, e offerece-as sobre o altar da casa de vosso Deus, que está em Jerusalem.
So buy in full the oxen, rams and lambs, and grain and drink offerings. Offer them on the altar that is in the house of your God in Jerusalem.
18 Tambem o que a ti e a teus irmãos bem te parecer fazerdes do resto da prata e do oiro, o fareis conforme á vontade do vosso Deus.
Do with the rest of the silver and gold whatever seems good to you and your brothers, to please your God.
19 E os vasos que te foram dados para o serviço da casa de teu Deus, restitue-os perante o Deus de Jerusalem.
Place the objects that were freely given to you before him for the service of the house of your God in Jerusalem.
20 E o resto do que fôr necessario para a casa de teu Deus, que te convenha dar, o darás da casa dos thesouros do rei.
Anything else that is needed for the house of your God that you require, take its cost from my treasury.
21 E por mim mesmo, o rei Artaxerxes, se decreta a todos os thesoureiros que estão d'além do rio que tudo quanto vos pedir o sacerdote Esdras, escriba da lei do Deus dos céus, apressuradamente se faça,
I, King Artaxerxes, make a decree to all the treasurers in the Province Beyond the River, that anything that Ezra asks from you should be given in full,
22 Até cem talentos de prata, e até cem coros de trigo, e até cem batos de vinho, e até cem batos d'azeite; e sal sem conta.
up to one hundred silver talents, one hundred cors of grain, one hundred baths of wine, and one hundred baths of oil, also salt without limit.
23 Tudo quanto se ordenar, segundo o mandado do Deus do céu, promptamente se faça para a casa do Deus do céu: porque para que haveria grande ira sobre o reino do rei e de seus filhos?
Anything that comes from the decree of the God of Heaven, do it with devotion for his house. For why should his wrath come upon the kingdom of me and my sons?
24 Tambem vos fazemos saber ácerca de todos os sacerdotes e levitas, cantores, porteiros, nethineos, e ministros da casa d'este Deus, que se lhes não possa impôr, nem direito, nem antigo tributo, nem renda.
We are informing them about you not to impose any tribute or taxes on any of the priests, Levites, musicians, gatekeepers, or on the people assigned to the service of the temple and servants of the house of this God.
25 E tu, Esdras, conforme á sabedoria do teu Deus, que está na tua mão, põe regedores e juizes, que julguem a todo o povo que está d'além do rio, a todos os que sabem as leis de teu Deus; e ao que as não sabe, as fareis saber.
Ezra, with the wisdom that God has given you, you must appoint judges and magistrates to judge all the people in the Province Beyond the River, and to serve all who know the laws of your God. You must also teach those who do not know the law.
26 E todo aquelle que não fizer a lei do teu Deus e a lei do rei, logo se faça justiça d'elle: quer seja morte, quer degredo, quer multa sobre os seus bens, quer prisão.
Punish anyone who does not fully obey God's law or the king's law, whether by death, banishment, confiscation of their goods, or imprisonment.
27 Bemdito seja o Senhor Deus de nossos paes, que tal inspirou ao coração do rei, para ornarmos a casa do Senhor, que está em Jerusalem;
Praise Yahweh, our ancestors' God, who placed all this into the king's heart to glorify Yahweh's house in Jerusalem,
28 E que estendeu para mim a sua beneficencia perante o rei e os seus conselheiros e todos os principes poderosos do rei: assim me esforcei, segundo a mão do Senhor sobre mim, e ajuntei d'entre Israel uns chefes para subirem comigo."
and who extended covenant faithfulness to me before the king, his counselors, and all his powerful officials. I have been strengthened by the hand of Yahweh my God, and I gathered leaders from Israel to go with me.
