Êxodo 9
1 Depois o Senhor disse a Moysés: Entra a Pharaó, e dize-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor, o Deus dos hebreos: Deixa ir o meu povo, para que me sirva.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and speak to him, Thus hath said the Eternal, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
2 Porque se recusares de os deixar ir, e ainda por força os detiveres,
For if thou refusest to let them go, and still holdest on to them,
3 Eis que a mão do Senhor será sobre teu gado, que está no campo, sobre os cavallos, sobre os jumentos, sobre os camelos, sobre os bois, e sobre as ovelhas, com pestilencia gravissima.
Behold, the hand of the Lord will be sent against thy cattle which is in the field, against the horses, against the asses, against the camels, against the oxen, and against the sheep; —a very grievous pestilence.
4 E o Senhor fará separação entre o gado dos israelitas, e o gado dos egypcios, que nada morra de tudo o que fôr dos filhos d'Israel.
And the Lord will distinguish between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and not one head shall die of all that belongeth to the children of Israel.
5 E o Senhor assignalou certo tempo, dizendo: Amanhã fará o Senhor esta coisa na terra.
And the Lord appointed a set time, saying, Tomorrow will the Lord do this thing in the land.
6 E o Senhor fez esta coisa no dia seguinte, e todo o gado dos egypcios morreu: porém do gado dos filhos d'Israel não morreu nenhum.
And the Lord did this thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel there died not one.
7 E Pharaó enviou a ver, e eis que do gado d'Israel não morrera nenhum: porém o coração de Pharaó se aggravou, e não deixou ir o povo
And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there had not died of the cattle of the Israelites even one; but the heart of Pharaoh remained hardened, and he did not let the people go.
8 Então disse o Senhor a Moysés e a Aarão: Tomae vossos punhos cheios da cinza do forno, e Moysés a espalhe para o céu diante dos olhos de Pharaó;
And the Lord said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take unto yourselves your hands full of soot of the furnace, and let Moses throw it heavenward before the eyes of Pharaoh.
9 E tornar-se-ha em pó miudo sobre toda a terra do Egypto, e se tornará em sarna, que arrebente em ulceras nos homens e no gado, por toda a terra do Egypto.
And it shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall become upon man and beast an inflammation, producing boils, throughout all the land of Egypt.
10 E elles tomaram a cinza do forno, e pozeram-se diante de Pharaó, e Moysés a espalhou para o céu: e tornou-se em sarna, que arrebentava em ulceras nos homens e no gado;
And they took the soot of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses threw it up heavenward; and it became an inflammation, producing boils, upon man, and upon beast.
11 De maneira que os magos não podiam parar diante de Moysés, por causa da sarna; porque havia sarna em os magos, e em todos os egypcios.
And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the inflammation; for the inflammation was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
12 Porém o Senhor endureceu o coração de Pharaó, e não os ouviu, como o Senhor tinha dito a Moysés.
And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had spoken unto Moses.
13 Então disse o Senhor a Moysés: Levanta-te pela manhã cedo, e põe-te diante de Pharaó, e dize-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor, o Deus dos hebreos: Deixa ir o meu povo, para que me sirva;
And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and place thyself before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus hath said the Eternal, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
14 Porque esta vez enviarei todas as minhas pragas sobre o teu coração, e sobre os teus servos, e sobre o teu povo, para que saibas que não ha outro como Eu em toda a terra.
For at this time I send all my plagues against thy heart, and against thy servants, and against thy people; in order that thou mayest know that there is none like me on all the earth.
15 Porque agora tenho estendido minha mão, para te ferir a ti e ao teu povo com pestilencia, e para que sejas destruido da terra;
For even now I might have stretched out my hand, and I might have smitten thee and thy people with the pestilence; and thou wouldst have been cut off from the earth;
16 Mas devéras para isto te levantei, para mostrar minha potencia em ti, e para que o meu nome seja annunciado em toda a terra.
But for this cause have I allowed thee to remain, in order to show thee my power; and in order that they may proclaim my name throughout all the earth.
17 Tu ainda te levantas contra o meu povo, para não os deixar ir?
If thou dost yet wantonly oppress my people, so as not to let them go:
18 Eis que ámanhã por este tempo farei chover saraiva mui grave, qual nunca houve no Egypto, desde o dia em que foi fundado até agora.
Behold, then will I let rain, about this time tomorrow, a very grievous hail, the like of which hath not been in Egypt since the day of its foundation even until now.
19 Agora pois envia, recolhe o teu gado, e tudo o que tens no campo; todo o homem e animal, que fôr achado no campo, e não fôr recolhido á casa, a saraiva cairá sobre elles, e morrerão.
And now send, and bring under shelter thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; [for] every man and beast that shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought into the house, upon them shall the hail come down, and they shall die.
20 Quem dos servos de Pharaó temia a palavra do Senhor, fez fugir os seus servos e o seu gado para as casas;
He that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses;
21 Mas aquelle que não tinha applicado a palavra do Senhor ao seu coração, deixou os seus servos e o seu gado no campo.
And he that regarded not the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field.
22 Então disse o Senhor a Moysés: Estende a tua mão para o céu, e haverá saraiva em toda a terra do Egypto, sobre os homens e sobre o gado, e sobre toda a herva do campo na terra de Egypto.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch forth thy hand toward heaven, and there shall be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, in the land of Egypt.
23 E Moysés estendeu a sua vara para o céu, e o Senhor deu trovões e saraiva, e fogo corria pela terra; e o Senhor fez chover saraiva sobre a terra do Egypto.
And Moses stretched forth his staff toward heaven; and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran down to the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
24 E havia saraiva, e fogo misturado entre a saraiva, mui grave, qual nunca houve em toda a terra do Egypto, desde que veiu a ser uma nação.
And there was hail, and fire was flaming up amidst the hail, very grievous, the like of which had not been in all the land of Egypt, since it had become a nation.
25 E a saraiva feriu, em toda a terra do Egypto, tudo quanto havia no campo, desde os homens até aos animaes: tambem a saraiva feriu toda a herva do campo, e quebrou todas as arvores do campo.
And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and every herb of the field did the hail smite, and every tree of the field did it break.
26 Sómente na terra de Goshen, onde estavam, os filhos de Israel, não havia saraiva.
Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.
27 Então Pharaó enviou para chamar a Moysés e a Aarão, e disse-lhes: Esta vez pequei; o Senhor é justo, mas eu e o meu povo impios.
And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and he said unto them, I have sinned this time; the Eternal is the righteous, and I and my people are the wicked.
28 Orae ao Senhor (pois que basta) para que não haja mais trovões de Deus nem saraiva; e eu vos deixarei ir, e não ficareis mais aqui.
Entreat the Lord that there may be no more of the thunders of God, and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall no longer stay here.
29 Então lhe disse Moysés: Em saindo da cidade estenderei minhas mãos ao Senhor: os trovões cessarão, e não haverá mais saraiva; para que saibas que a terra é do Senhor.
And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands unto the Lord: the thunders shall cease, and the hail shall not be any more; in order that thou mayest know how that to the Lord belongeth the earth.
30 Todavia, quanto a ti e aos teus servos, eu sei que ainda não temereis diante do Senhor Deus.
But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye are not yet afraid before the Lord God.
31 E o linho e a cevada foram feridos, porque a cevada já estava na espiga, e o linho na cana,
And the flax and the barley were smitten; for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.
32 Mas o trigo e o centeio não foram feridos, porque estavam cobertos.
But the wheat and the millet were not smitten; for they are late-ripening.
33 Saiu pois Moysés de Pharaó, da cidade, e estendeu as suas mãos ao Senhor: e cessaram os trovões e a saraiva, e a chuva não caiu mais sobre a terra.
And Moses went away from Pharaoh out of the city, and spread out his hands unto the Lord: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured out upon the earth.
34 Vendo Pharaó que cessou a chuva, e a saraiva, e os trovões, continuou em peccar: e aggravou o seu coração, elle e os seus servos.
And when Pharaoh saw that the rain, and the hail, and the thunders had ceased, he sinned yet farther, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
35 Assim o coração de Pharaó se endureceu, e não deixou ir os filhos de Israel, como o Senhor tinha dito por Moysés.
And the heart of Pharaoh remained hardened, and he did not let the children of Israel go; as the Lord had spoken by the hand of Moses.
