Deuteronômio 6
1 Estes, pois, são os mandamentos, os estatutos e os juizos que mandou o Senhor vosso Deus para se vos ensinar, para que os fizesseis na terra a que passaes a possuir;
Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the ordinances, which Jehovah your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land where ye go over to possess it,
2 Para que temas ao Senhor teu Deus, e guardes todos os seus estatutos e mandamentos, que eu te ordeno, tu, e teu filho, e o filho de teu filho, todos os dias da tua vida, e que teus dias sejam prolongados.
that thou might fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life, and that thy days may be prolonged.
3 Ouve pois, ó Israel, e attenta que os guardes, para que bem te succeda, e muito te multipliques, como te disse o Senhor Deus de teus paes, na terra que mana leite e mel.
Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it, that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, has promised to thee, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
4 Ouve, Israel, o Senhor nosso Deus é o unico Senhor.
Hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.
5 Amarás pois o Senhor teu Deus de todo o teu coração, e de toda a tua alma, e de todo o teu poder.
And thou shall love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 E estas palavras, que hoje te ordeno, estarão no teu coração;
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart.
7 E as intimarás a teus filhos, e d'ellas fallarás assentado em tua casa, e andando pelo caminho, e deitando-te e levantando-te.
And thou shall teach them diligently to thy sons, and shall talk of them when thou sit in thy house, and when thou walk by the way, and when thou lie down, and when thou rise up.
8 Tambem as atarás por signal na tua mão, e te serão por testeiras entre os teus olhos.
And thou shall bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes.
9 E as escreverás nos umbraes de tua casa, e nas tuas portas.
And thou shall write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates.
10 Havendo-te pois o Senhor teu Deus indroduzido na terra que jurou a teus paes, Abrahão, Isaac e Jacob, te daria: grandes e boas cidades, que tu não edificaste,
And it shall be, when Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land which he swore to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee, great and goodly cities, which thou did not build,
11 E casas cheias de todo o bem, que tu não encheste, e poços cavados, que tu não cavaste, vinhas e olivaes, que tu não plantaste, e comeres, e te fartares,
and houses full of all good things, which thou did not fill, and cisterns hewn out, which thou did not hew, vineyards and olive trees, which thou did not plant, and thou shall eat and be full,
12 Guarda-te, e que te não esqueças do Senhor, que te tirou da terra do Egypto, da casa da servidão.
then beware lest thou forget Jehovah, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
13 O Senhor teu Deus temerás, e a elle servirás, e pelo seu nome jurarás.
Thou shall fear Jehovah thy God, and him thou shall serve, and shall swear by his name.
14 Não seguireis outros deuses, os deuses dos povos que houver á roda de vós;
Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples that are round about you,
15 Porque o Senhor vosso Deus é um Deus zeloso no meio de ti, para que a ira do Senhor teu Deus se não accenda contra ti, e te destrua de sobre a face da terra.
for Jehovah thy God in the midst of thee is a jealous God, lest the anger of Jehovah thy God be kindled against thee, and he destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
16 Não tentareis o Senhor vosso Deus, como o tentaste em Massah.
Ye shall not challenge Jehovah your God, as ye challenged him in Massah.
17 Diligentemente guardareis os mandamentos do Senhor vosso Deus; como tambem os seus testemunhos, e seus estatutos, que te tem mandado.
Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded thee.
18 E farás o recto e o bom aos olhos do Senhor: para que bem te succeda, e entres, e possuas a boa terra, sobre a qual o Senhor jurou a teus paes.
And thou shall do that which is right and good in the sight of Jehovah, that it may be well with thee, and that thou may go in and possess the good land which Jehovah swore to thy fathers,
19 Para que lance fóra a todos os teus inimigos de diante de ti, como o Senhor tem dito.
to thrust out all thine enemies from before thee, as Jehovah has spoken.
20 Quando teu filho te perguntar pelo tempo adiante, dizendo: Quaes são os testemunhos, e estatutos e juizos que o Senhor nosso Deus vos ordenou?
When thy son asks thee in time to come, saying, What is the meaning of the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which Jehovah our God has commanded you?
21 Então dirás a teu filho: Eramos servos de Pharaó no Egypto; porém o Senhor nos tirou com mão forte do Egypto;
Then thou shall say to thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt, and Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
22 E o Senhor deu signaes grandes, e nocivas maravilhas no Egypto, a Pharaó e a toda a sua casa, aos nossos olhos;
And Jehovah showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his house, before our eyes.
23 E d'ali nos tirou, para nos levar, e nos dar a terra que jurára a nossos paes.
And he brought us out from there that he might bring us in to give us the land which he swore to our fathers.
24 E o Senhor nos ordenou que fizessemos todos estes estatutos, para temer ao Senhor nosso Deus, para o nosso perpetuo bem, para nos guardar em vida, como no dia d'hoje.
And Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God for our good always, that he might preserve us alive as at this day.
25 E será para nós justiça, quando tivermos cuidado de fazer todos estes mandamentos perante o Senhor nosso Deus, como nos tem ordenado.
And it shall be righteousness to us, if we observe to do all this commandment before Jehovah our God as he has commanded us.
