Deuteronômio 14

1 Filhos sois do Senhor vosso Deus: não vos dareis golpes, nem poreis calva entre vossos olhos por causa de algum morto.

“You [are] sons of your God YHWH; you do not cut yourselves, nor make baldness between your eyes for the dead;

2 Porque és povo sancto ao Senhor teu Deus: e o Senhor te escolheu, de todos os povos que ha sobre a face da terra, para lhe seres o seu povo proprio.

for you [are] a holy people to your God YHWH, and YHWH has fixed on you to be to Him for a people, a peculiar treasure, out of all the peoples who [are] on the face of the ground.

3 Nenhuma abominação comereis.

You do not eat any abomination;

4 Estes são os animaes que comereis: o boi, o gado miudo das ovelhas, e o gado miudo das cabras,

this [is] the beast which you eat: ox, lamb of the sheep, or kid of the goats,

5 O veado, e a corça, e o bufalo, e a cabra montez, e o teixugo, e o boi silvestre, e o gamo.

deer, and roe, and fallow deer, and wild goat, and ibex, and antelope, and zemer;

6 Todo o animal que tem unhas fendidas, que tem a unha dividida em duas, que remóe, entre os animaes, aquillo comereis.

and every beast dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft into two hooves, bringing up the cud, among the beasts—you eat it.

7 Porém estes não comereis, dos que sómente remoem, ou que teem a unha fendida: o camelo, e a lebre, e o coelho, porque remóem mas não teem a unha fendida: immundos vos serão.

Only, this you do not eat, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the hyrax, for they are bringing up the cud, but the hoof has not divided—they [are] unclean to you;

8 Nem o porco, porque tem unha fendida, mas não remoe; immundo vos será: não comereis da carne d'estes, e não tocareis no seu cadaver.

and the sow, for it is dividing the hoof, and not [bringing] up the cud—it [is] unclean to you; you do not eat of their flesh, and you do not come against their carcass.

9 Isto comereis de tudo o que ha nas aguas: tudo o que tem barbatanas e escamas comereis.

This you eat of all which [are] in the waters: anything that has fins and scales you eat;

10 Mas tudo o que não tiver barbatanas nem escamas não o comereis: immundo vos será.

and anything which does not have fins and scales you do not eat—it [is] unclean to you.

11 Toda a ave limpa comereis.

Any clean bird you eat;

12 Porém estas são as de que não comereis: a aguia, e o quebrantosso, e o xofrango,

and these [are] they of which you do not eat: the eagle, and the bearded vulture, and the osprey,

13 E o abutre, e a pêga, e o milhano, segundo a sua especie,

and the kite, and the falcon, and the vulture after its kind,

14 E todo o corvo, segundo a sua especie,

and every raven after its kind;

15 E o abestruz, e o mocho, e o cuco, e o gavião, segundo a sua especie,

and the ostrich, and the nightjar [[or male ostrich]], and the seagull, and the hawk after its kind;

16 E o bufo, e a coruja, e a gralha.

the little owl, and the great owl, and the waterhen,

17 E o cysne, e o pelicano, e o corvo marinho,

and the pelican, and the Egyptian vulture, and the cormorant,

18 E a cegonha, e a garça, segundo a sua especie, e a poupa, e o morcego.

and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

19 Tambem todo o reptil que vôa, vos será immundo: não se comerá.

And every teeming thing which is flying—it [is] unclean to you; they are not eaten;

20 Toda a ave limpa comereis.

any clean bird you eat.

21 Não comereis nenhum animal morto; ao estrangeiro, que está dentro das tuas portas, o darás a comer, ou o venderás ao estranho, porquanto és povo sancto ao Senhor teu Deus. Não cozerás o cabrito com o leite da sua mãe.

You do not eat of any carcass; you give it to the sojourner who [is] within your gates, and he has eaten it; or sell [it] to a stranger; for you [are] a holy people to your God YHWH. You do not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.

22 Certamente darás os dizimos de toda a novidade da tua semente, que cada anno se recolher do campo.

You certainly tithe all the increase of your seed which the field is bringing forth year by year;

23 E, perante o Senhor teu Deus, no logar que escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome, comereis os dizimos do teu grão, do teu mosto e do teu azeite, e os primogenitos das tuas vaccas e das tuas ovelhas: para que aprendas a temer ao Senhor teu Deus todos os dias.

and you have eaten before your God YHWH, in the place where He chooses to cause His Name to dwell, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the firstlings of your herd, and of your flock, so that you learn to fear your God YHWH [for] all the days.

24 E quando o caminho te fôr tão comprido que os não possas levar por estar longe de ti o logar que escolher o Senhor teu Deus para ali pôr o seu nome, quando o Senhor teu Deus te tiver abençoado;

And when the way is too much for you, that you are not able to carry it—when the place is too far off from you which your God YHWH chooses to put His Name there, when your God YHWH blesses you—

25 Então vende-os, e ata o dinheiro na tua mão, e vae ao logar que escolher o Senhor teu Deus;

then you have given [it] in money, and have bound up the money in your hand, and gone to the place on which your God YHWH fixes;

26 E aquelle dinheiro darás por tudo o que deseja a tua alma, por vaccas, e por ovelhas, e por vinho, e por bebida forte, e por tudo o que te pedir a tua alma: come-o ali perante o Senhor teu Deus, e alegra-te, tu e a tua casa;

and you have given the money for anything which your soul desires, for oxen, and for sheep, and for wine, and for strong drink, and for anything which your soul asks for, and you have eaten before your God YHWH there, and you have rejoiced, you and your house.

27 Porém não desampararás o levita que está dentro dos tuas portas; pois não tem parte nem herança comtigo.

As for the Levite who [is] within your gates, you do not forsake him, for he has no portion and inheritance with you.

28 Ao fim de tres annos tirarás todos os dizimos da tua novidade no mesmo anno, e os recolherás nas tuas portas:

At the end of three years you bring out all the tithe of your increase in that year, and have placed [it] within your gates;

29 Então virá o levita (pois nem parte nem herança tem comtigo), e o estrangeiro, e o orphão, e a viuva, que estão dentro das tuas portas, e comerão, e fartar-se-hão: para que o Senhor teu Deus te abençoe em toda a obra das tuas mãos, que fizeres.

and the Levite has come in—for he has no part and inheritance with you—and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] within your gates, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, so that your God YHWH blesses you in all the work of your hand which you do.”
