Daniel 3
1 O rei Nabucodonozor fez uma estatua de oiro, a altura da qual era de sessenta covados, e a sua largura de seis covados: levantou-a no campo de Dura, na provincia de Babylonia.
Nebuchad-nezzar the King made an image of gold, whose height was three score cubits, and the breadth thereof sixe cubites: hee set it vp in the plaine of Dura, in the prouince of Babel.
2 E o rei Nabucodonozor mandou ajuntar os sátrapas, os prefeitos e presidentes, os juizes, os thesoureiros, os conselheiros, os officiaes, e todos os governadores das provincias, para que viessem á consagração da estatua que o rei Nabucodonozor tinha levantado.
Then Nebuchad-nezzar ye King sent foorth to gather together the nobles, the princes and the dukes, the iudges, the receiuers, the counsellers, the officers, and all the gouernours of the prouinces, that they should come to the dedication of the image, which Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.
3 Então se ajuntaram os sátrapas, os prefeitos e presidentes, os juizes, os thesoureiros, os conselheiros, os officiaes, e todos os governadores das provincias, á consagração da estatua que o rei Nabucodonozor tinha levantado, e estavam em pé diante da estatua que Nabucodonozor tinha levantado.
So the nobles, princes and dukes, the iudges, the receiuers, the counsellers, the officers, and all the gouernours of the prouinces were assembled vnto the dedicating of the image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp: and they stood before the image, which Nebuchad-nezzar had set vp.
4 E o pregoeiro apregoava em alta voz: Ordena-se a vós, ó povos, nações e linguagens:
Then an herald cried aloude, Be it knowen to you, O people, nations, and languages,
5 Quando ouvirdes o som da buzina, do pifaro, da harpa, da sambuca, do psalterio, da symphonia, e de toda a sorte de musica, vos prostrareis, e adorareis a estatua de oiro que o rei Nabucodonozor tem levantado.
That when ye heare the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, ye fall downe and worship the golden image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King hath set vp,
6 E qualquer que se não prostrar e a não adorar, será na mesma hora lançado dentro do forno de fogo ardente.
And whosoeuer falleth not downe and worshippeth, shall the same houre bee cast into the middes of an hote fierie fornace.
7 Portanto, no mesmo instante em que todos os povos ouviram o som da buzina, do pifaro, da harpa, da sambuca, do psalterio, e de toda a sorte de musica, se prostraram todos os povos, nações e linguas, e adoraram a estatua de oiro que o rei Nabucodonozor tinha levantado.
Therefore assoone as all the people heard the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and all instruments of musike, all the people, nations, and languages fell downe, and worshipped the golden image, that Nebuchad-nezzar the King had set vp.
8 Por isso, no mesmo instante se chegaram alguns homens chaldeos, e accusaram os judeos.
By reason whereof at that same time came men of the Caldeans, and grieuously accused the Iewes.
9 E fallaram, e disseram ao rei Nabucodonozor: Ó rei, vive eternamente!
For they spake and said to the King Nebuchad-nezzar, O King, liue for euer.
10 Tu, ó rei, fizeste um decreto, que todo o homem que ouvisse o som da buzina, do pifaro, da harpa, da sambuca, do psalterio, e da symphonia, e de toda a sorte de musica, se prostrasse e adorasse a estatua de oiro;
Thou, O King, hast made a decree, that euery man that shall heare the sounde of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, shall fall downe and worship the golden image,
11 E, qualquer que se não prostrasse e adorasse, fosse lançado dentro do forno de fogo ardente.
And whosoeuer falleth not downe, and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the mids of an hote fierie fornace.
12 Ha uns homens judeos, os quaes constituiste sobre os negocios da provincia de Babylonia: Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego: estes homens, ó rei, não fizeram caso de ti; a teus deuses não servem, nem a estatua de oiro, que levantaste, adoraram.
There are certeine Iewes whome thou hast set ouer the charge of ye prouince of Babel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: these men, O King, haue not regarded thy commandement, neither wil they serue thy gods, nor worship the golden image, that thou hast set vp.
13 Então Nabucodonozor, com ira e furor, mandou trazer a Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego. E trouxeram a estes homens perante o rei.
Then Nebuchad-nezzar in his anger and wrath commanded that they should bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: so these men were brought before the King.
14 Fallou Nabucodonozor, e lhes disse: Porventura de proposito, ó Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, vós não servis a meus deuses nem adoraes a estatua de oiro que levantei?
And Nebuchad-nezzar spake, and said vnto them, What disorder? will not you, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego serue my god, nor worship the golden image, that I haue set vp?
15 Agora pois, se estaes promptos, quando ouvirdes o som da buzina, do pifaro, da guitarra, da harpa, do psalterio, da symphonia, e de toda a sorte de musica, para vos prostrardes e adorardes a estatua que fiz, bom é; mas, se a não adorardes, sereis lançados, na mesma hora, dentro do forno de fogo ardente: e quem é o Deus que vos poderá livrar das minhas mãos
Now therefore are ye ready when ye heare the sound of the cornet, trumpet, harpe, sackebut, psalterie, and dulcimer, and all instruments of musike, to fall downe, and worship the image, which I haue made? for if ye worship it not, ye shall be cast immediatly into the middes of an hote fierie fornace: for who is that God, that can deliuer you out of mine handes?
16 Responderam Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, e disseram ao rei Nabucodonozor: Não necessitamos de te responder sobre este negocio.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the King, O Nebuchad-nezzar, we are not carefull to answere thee in this matter.
17 Eis que é nosso Deus, a quem nós servimos, que nos pode livrar; elle nos livrará do forno de fogo ardente, e da tua mão, ó rei.
Beholde, our God whom we serue, is able to deliuer vs from the hote fierie fornace, and hee will deliuer vs out of thine hand, O King.
18 E, se não, sabe tu, ó rei, que não serviremos a teus deuses nem adoraremos a estatua de oiro que levantaste.
But if not, bee it knowen to thee, O King, that wee will not serue thy gods, nor worship the golden image, which thou hast set vp.
19 Então Nabucodonozor se encheu de furor, e se mudou o aspecto do seu semblante contra Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego: respondeu, e ordenou que o forno se accendesse sete vezes mais do que se costumava accender.
Then was Nebuchad-nezzar full of rage, and the forme of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore hee charged and commanded that they should heate the fornace at once seuen times more then it was wont to be heat.
20 E ordenou aos homens mais valentes de força, que estavam no seu exercito, que atassem a Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, para os lançar no forno de fogo ardente.
And hee charged the most valiant men of warre that were in his armie, to binde Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the hote fierie fornace.
21 Então estes homens foram atados com as suas capas, seus calções, e seus chapeus, e seus vestidos, e foram lançados dentro do forno de fogo ardente.
So these men were bounde in their coates, their hosen, and their clokes, with their other garments, and cast into the middes of the hote fierie fornace.
22 E, porque a palavra do rei apertava, e o forno estava sobre-maneira acceso, a chamma do fogo matou aquelles homens que levantaram a Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego.
Therefore, because the Kings commandement was straite, that the fornace should be exceeding hote, the flame of the fire slew those men that brought foorth Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
23 E estes tres homens, Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, cairam atados dentro do forno de fogo ardente.
And these three men Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego fell downe bound into the middes of the hote fierie fornace.
24 Então o rei Nabucodonozor se espantou, e se levantou depressa: fallou, e disse aos seus capitães: Porventura não lançámos tres homens atados dentro do fogo? Responderam e disseram ao rei: Verdade é, ó rei
Then Nebuchad-nezzar the King was astonied and rose vp in haste, and spake, and saide vnto his counsellers, Did not wee cast three men bound into the middes of the fire? Who answered and said vnto the King, It is true, O King.
25 Respondeu, e disse: Eis aqui vejo quatro homens soltos, que andam passeando dentro do fogo, e nada ha de lesão n'elles; e o aspecto do quarto é similhante ao filho dos deuses.
And he answered, and said, Loe, I see foure men loose, walking in the middes of the fire, and they haue no hurt, and the forme of the fourth is like the sonne of God.
26 Então se chegou Nabucodonozor á porta do forno de fogo ardente; fallou, e disse: Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, servos do Deus Altissimo, sahi e vinde! Então Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego sairam do meio do fogo.
Then the King Nebuchad-nezzar came neere to the mouth of the hote fierie fornace, and spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the seruants of the hie God goe foorth and come hither: so Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came foorth of the middes of the fire.
27 E ajuntaram-se os sátrapas, os prefeitos, e os presidentes, e os capitães do rei, contemplando estes homens, como o fogo não tinha tido poder algum sobre os seus corpos: nem um só cabello da sua cabeça se tinha queimado, nem as suas capas se mudaram, nem cheiro de fogo tinha passado sobre elles.
Then the nobles, princes and dukes, and the Kings counsellers came together to see these men, because the fire had no power ouer their bodies: for not an heare of their head was burnt, neither was their coates changed, nor any smelll of fire came vpon them.
28 Fallou Nabucodonozor, e disse: Bemdito seja o Deus de Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, que enviou o seu anjo, e livrou os seus servos, que confiaram n'elle, pois violaram a palavra do rei, e entregaram os seus corpos, para que não servissem nem adorassem algum outro deus, senão o seu Deus.
Wherefore Nebuchad-nezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who hath sent his Angel, and deliuered his seruants, that put their trust in him, and haue changed the Kings commandement, and yeelded their bodies rather then they would serue or worship any god, saue their owne God.
29 Por mim pois se faz um decreto, que todo o povo, nação e lingua que disser blasphemia contra o Deus de Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, seja despedaçado, e a sua casa seja feita um monturo; porquanto não ha outro Deus que possa livrar como este.
Therefore I make a decree, that euery people, nation, and language, which speake any blasphemie against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, shalbe drawen in pieces, and their houses shall be made a iakes, because there is no god that can deliuer after this sort.
30 Então o rei fez prosperar a Sadrach, Mesach e Abed-nego, na provincia de Babylonia.
Then the King promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the prouince of Babel.
