Amós 7
1 O Senhor Jehovah assim me fez ver, e eis que formava gafanhotos no principio do arrebento da herva serodia, e eis que havia a herva serodia depois da segada do rei.
Thus did the Lord Eternal show unto me: and, behold, he was forming locusts in the beginning of the sprouting up of the latter groweth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings [was over].
2 E aconteceu que, como elles de todo tivessem comido a herva da terra, eu disse: Senhor Jehovah, ora perdoa: como se levantará Jacob? porque é pequeno.
And it came to pass, when they had made an end of eating up the herbs of the earth, that I said, O Lord Eternal, forgive, I beseech thee: how should Jacob be able to endure, since he is so small!
3 Então o Senhor se arrependeu d'isso. Isto não acontecerá, disse o Senhor.
The Lord bethought himself of this: It shall not be, said the Lord.
4 Assim me mostrou o Senhor Jehovah, e eis que o Senhor Jehovah chamava, que queria contender por fogo; o consumiu o grande abysmo, e tambem consumiu uma parte d'elle.
Thus did the Lord Eternal show unto me: and, behold, the Lord Eternal called forth the punishment by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and consumed the ploughed field.
5 Então eu disse: Senhor Jehovah, cessa agora; como se levantará Jacob? porque é pequeno.
Then said I, O Lord Eternal, forbear, I beseech thee: how should Jacob be able to endure, since he is so small!
6 E o Senhor se arrependeu d'isso. Nem isto acontecerá, disse o Senhor Jehovah.
The Lord bethought himself of this: Also this shall not be, said the Lord Eternal.
7 Mostrou-me tambem assim; e eis que o Senhor estava sobre um muro, feito a prumo: e tinha um prumo na sua mão.
Thus he showed unto me: and, behold, the Lord was standing upon a wall [made] by a plumbline, and in his hand was a plumbline.
8 E o Senhor me disse: Que vês tu, Amós? E eu disse: Um prumo. Então disse o Senhor: Eis que eu porei o prumo no meio do meu povo Israel, e d'aqui por diante nunca mais passarei por elle.
And the Lord said unto me, What dost thou see, 'Amos? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel; I will not farther indulge them any more.
9 Mas os altos de Isaac serão assolados, e destruidos os sanctuarios de Israel; e levantar-me-hei com a espada contra a casa de Jeroboão.
And the high places of Isaac shall be made desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid in ruins: and I will rise up against the house of Jerobo'am with the sword.
10 Então Amazia, o sacerdote em Beth-el, enviou a Jeroboão, rei de Israel, dizendo: Amós tem conspirado contra ti, no meio da casa de Israel; a terra não poderá soffrer todas as suas palavras.
Then sent Amazyah, the priest of Beth-el, to Jerobo'am the king of Israel, saying, 'Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
11 Porque assim diz Amós: Jeroboão morrerá á espada, e Israel certamente será levado para fóra da sua terra em captiveiro.
For thus hath 'Amos said, By the sword shall Jerobo'am die, and Israel shall surely be led away into exile out of their own land.
12 Depois Amazia disse a Amós: Vae-te, ó vidente, e foge para a terra de Judah, e ali come o pão, e ali prophetiza;
And Amazyah said unto 'Amos, Seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and eat there [thy] bread, and there prophesy;
13 Mas em Beth-el d'aqui por diante não prophetizarás mais, porque é o sanctuario do rei e a casa do reino.
But at Beth-el prophesy not farther any more; for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal residence.
14 E respondeu Amós, e disse a Amazia: Eu não era propheta, nem filho de propheta, mas boieiro, e colhia figos bravos.
Then answered 'Amos, and said to Amazyah, I am no prophet, nor am I a prophet's son; but I am a herdman, and a gatherer of wild figs;
15 Porém o Senhor me tomou de detraz do gado, e o Senhor me disse: Vae-te, e prophetiza ao meu povo Israel.
But the Lord hath taken me away from behind the flocks, and the Lord said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
16 Ora, pois, ouve a palavra do Senhor: Tu dizes: Não prophetizarás contra Israel, nem derramarás as tuas palavras contra a casa de Isaac.
And now hear thou the word of the Lord, Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and preach not against the house of Isaac.
17 Portanto assim diz o Senhor: Tua mulher se prostituirá na cidade, e teus filhos e tuas filhas cairão á espada, e a tua terra será repartida a cordel, e tu morrerás na terra immunda, e Israel certamente será levado captivo para fóra da sua terra.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Thy wife will play the harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided out by the line; and thou shalt die in an unclean land; and Israel shall surely be led forth into exile out of their land.
