2 Coríntios 7
1 Ora, amados, pois que temos taes promessas, purifiquemo-nos de toda a immundicia da carne e do espirito, aperfeiçoando a sanctificação no temor de Deus.
Having therefore, my beloved, these promises, let us purify ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 Recebei-nos; a ninguem aggravámos, a ninguem corrompemos, de ninguem buscámos o nosso proveito.
Receive us---we have injured no man, we have corrupted no one, we have over-reached no one.
3 Não digo isto para vossa condemnação; pois já d'antes tinha dito que estaes em nossos corações para juntamente morrer e viver
I speak not this to condemn you: for I said before that ye are so much in our hearts that we could live and die with you.
4 Grande é a ousadia da minha falla para comvosco, e grande a minha jactancia a respeito de vós; estou cheio de consolação: superabundo de gozo em todas as nossas tribulações.
I use much freedom of speech to you, and I boast much of you: I am filled with comfort, and superabound in joy above all our affliction.
5 Porque, ainda quando chegámos á Macedonia, a nossa carne não teve repouso algum; antes em tudo fomos attribulados: por fóra combates, temores por dentro.
For when we came into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
6 Mas Deus, que consola os abatidos, nos consolou com a vinda de Tito.
But God, who comforteth those that are brought low, comforted us by the coming of Titus:
7 E não sómente com a sua vinda, senão tambem pela consolação com que foi consolado de vós, contando-nos as vossas saudades, o vosso choro, o vosso zelo por mim, de maneira que muito me regozijei.
and not only by his coming, but especially by the consolation wherewith he was comforted on your account, acquainting us with your earnest desire towards us, your grief, and your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced greatly.
8 Porque, ainda que vos contristei com a carta, não me arrependo, embora me arrependesse por vêr que aquella carta vos contristou, ainda que por pouco tempo.
For though I grieved you by my letter, I do not repent, though I did repent; for I perceive that that epistle grieved you, though it was but for a little while.
9 Agora folgo, não porque fostes contristados, mas porque fostes contristados para o arrependimento; porque fostes contristados segundo Deus; de maneira que por nós não padecestes damno em coisa alguma.
However, now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance; for ye were grieved after a godly manner, so that ye received no damage from us.
10 Porque a tristeza segundo Deus obra arrependimento para a salvação, da qual ninguem se arrepende; mas a tristeza do mundo obra a morte.
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11 Porque, quanto cuidado não produziu isto mesmo em vós, que segundo Deus fostes contristados! que apologia, que indignação, que temor, que saudades, que zelo, que vingança! em tudo mostrastes estar puros n'este negocio.
For behold this very thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly manner, what diligence it wrought in you! yea, what apology, what indignation, what fear, what earnest desire, what zeal, what revenge! by all which ye have shewn yourselves to be clear in the affair.
12 Portanto, ainda que vos escrevi, não foi por causa do que fez o aggravo, nem por causa do que soffreu o aggravo, mas para que a nossa diligencia por vós fosse manifesta diante de Deus.
Wherefore if I wrote in such a manner to you, it was not merely on his account who had done the wrong, nor for his sake who had been injured; but that our care for you in the sight of God might be manifested among you.
13 Por isso fomos consolados pela vossa consolação, e muito mais nos alegramos pela alegria de Tito, porque o seu espirito foi recreado por vós todos.
We were therefore comforted by your consolation; and rejoiced the more at the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all;
14 Porque, se n'alguma coisa me gloriei de vós para com elle, não fiquei envergonhado; antes, como vos dissemos tudo com verdade, assim tambem a nossa gloria para com Tito se achou verdadeira.
and because if I boasted of any thing to him concerning you, I was not ashamed; but as we have spoken all things to you in truth, so likewise our boasting of you to Titus was truth.
15 E o seu entranhavel affecto para comvosco é mais abundante, lembrando-se da obediencia de vós todos, e de como o recebestes com temor e tremor.
And his bowels are exceedingly moved towards you, when he calls to mind the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16 Regozijo-me de em tudo poder confiar em vós.
I rejoice therefore that in every thing I have confidence in you.
