2 Crônicas 17
1 E Josaphat seu filho reinou em seu logar: e fortificou-se contra Israel.
And his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead, and he strengthens himself against Israel,
2 E poz gente de guerra em todas as cidades fortes de Judah e poz guarnições na terra de Judah, como tambem nas cidades d'Ephraim, que Asa seu pae tinha tomado.
and puts a force in all the fortified cities of Judah, and puts garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that his father Asa had captured.
3 E o Senhor foi com Josaphat; porque andou nos primeiros caminhos de David seu pae, e não buscou a Baalim.
And YHWH is with Jehoshaphat, for he has walked in the first ways of his father David, and has not sought for the Ba‘alim,
4 Antes buscou ao Deus de seu pae, e andou nos seus mandamentos, e não segundo as obras d'Israel.
for he has sought for the God of his father, and he has walked in His commands, and not according to the work of Israel.
5 E o Senhor confirmou o reino na sua mão, e todo o Judah deu presentes a Josaphat: e teve riquezas e gloria em abundancia.
And YHWH establishes the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah gives a present to Jehoshaphat, and he has riches and honor in abundance,
6 E exaltou-se o seu coração nos caminhos do Senhor e ainda de mais tirou os altos e os bosques de Judah.
and his heart is high in the ways of YHWH, and again he has turned aside the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
7 E no terceiro anno do seu reinado enviou elle os seus principes, a Benchail, e a Obadias, e a Zacharias, e a Nathanael, e a Michaia, para ensinarem nas cidades de Judah.
And in the third year of his reign he has sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah;
8 E com elles os levitas, Semaias e Nethanias, e Zebadias, e Asael, e Semiramoth, e Jonathan, e Adonias, e Tobias, e Tobadonias, levitas: e com elles os sacerdotes, Elisama e Jorão.
and with them the Levites: Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah—the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9 E ensinaram em Judah e tinham comsigo o livro da lei do Senhor: e rodearam todas as cidades de Judah, e ensinaram entre o povo.
And they teach in Judah, and the Scroll of the Law of YHWH [is] with them, and they go around into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.
10 E veiu o temor do Senhor sobre todos os reinos das terras, que estavam em roda de Judah e não guerrearam contra Josaphat.
And there is a fear of YHWH on all kingdoms of the lands that [are] around Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;
11 E alguns d'entre os philisteos traziam presentes a Josaphat, com o dinheiro do tributo: tambem os arabios lhe trouxeram gado miudo; sete mil e setecentos carneiros, e sete mil e setecentos bodes.
and [some] from the Philistines are bringing a present to Jehoshaphat, and silver [as] tribute; also, the Arabians are bringing to him a flock of seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
12 Cresceu pois Josaphat e se engrandeceu extremamente: e edificou fortalezas e cidades de munições em Judah.
And Jehoshaphat is going on and becoming very great, and he builds palaces and cities of store in Judah,
13 E teve muitas obras nas cidades de Judah e gente de guerra, varões valentes em Jerusalem.
and he has much work in cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, [are] in Jerusalem.
14 E este é o numero d'elles segundo as casas de seu paes: em Judah eram chefes dos milhares: o chefe Adna, e com elle trezentos mil varões valentes;
And these [are] their numbers, for the house of their fathers—of Judah, heads of thousands: Adnah the head, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor;
15 E após elle o chefe Johanan, e com elle duzentos e oitenta mil;
and at his hand [is] Jehohanan the head, and with him two hundred and eighty thousand;
16 E após elle Amasias, filho de Zichri, que voluntariamente se entregou ao Senhor, e com elle duzentos mil varões valentes:
and at his hand [is] Amasiah son of Zichri, who is willingly offering himself to YHWH, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
17 E de Benjamin Eliada, varão valente, e com elle duzentos mil, armados d'arco e d'escudo:
And of Benjamin, mighty men of valor: Eliada, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
18 E após elle Jozabad: e com elle cento e oitenta mil armados para a guerra.
and at his hand [is] Jehozabad, and with him one hundred and eighty thousand armed ones of the host.
19 Estes estavam no serviço do rei; afóra os que o rei tinha posto nas cidades fortes por todo o Judah.
These [are] those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the fortress cities in all of Judah.
