1 Timóteo 4
1 Porém o Espirito expressamente diz que nos ultimos tempos apostatarão alguns da fé, dando ouvidos a espiritos enganadores, e a doutrinas de demonios;
Now the Spirit (pneuma) speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, (pneuma) and doctrines of devils;
2 Que em hypocrisia fallarão mentiras, tendo cauterisada a sua propria consciencia;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Prohibindo o casarem-se, e mandando que se abstenham dos manjares que Deus creou para os fieis, e para os que conheceram a verdade, para d'elles usarem com acções de graças;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 Porque toda a creatura de Deus é boa, e não ha nada que rejeitar, tomando-se com acções de graças.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
5 Porque pela palavra de Deus e pela oração é sanctificada.
For it is sanctified by the word (logos) of God and prayer.
6 Propondo estas coisas aos irmãos, serás bom ministro de Jesus Christo, criado com as palavras da fé e da boa doutrina que seguiste.
If you put the brethren in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words (logos) of faith and of good doctrine, unto which you have attained.
7 Mas rejeita as fabulas profanas e de velhas, e exercita-te a ti mesmo em piedade.
But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself rather unto godliness.
8 Porque o exercicio corporal para pouco aproveita, mas a piedade para tudo é proveitosa, tendo a promessa da vida presente e da que ha de vir.
For bodily exercise profits little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9 Esta palavra é fiel e digna de toda a acceitação.
This is a faithful saying (logos) and worthy of all acceptation.
10 Porque tambem para isto trabalhamos e somos injuriados, porquanto esperamos no Deus vivo, que é o salvador de todos os homens, principalmente dos fieis.
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11 Manda estas coisas e ensina-as.
These things command and teach.
12 Ninguem despreze a tua mocidade: mas sê o exemplo dos fieis, na palavra, no trato, na caridade, no espirito, na fé, na pureza.
Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, (logos) in conversation, in love, (agape) in spirit, (pneuma) in faith, in purity.
13 Persiste no lêr, exhortar e ensinar, até que eu vá.
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Não desprezes o dom que ha em ti, o qual te foi dado por prophecia, com a imposição das mãos do presbyterio.
Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15 Medita estas coisas; occupa-te n'ellas para que o teu aproveitamento seja manifesto a todos.
Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all.
16 Tem cuidado de ti mesmo e da doutrina: persevera n'estas coisas; porque, fazendo isto, te salvarás, tanto a ti mesmo como aos que te ouvem.
Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you.
