1 Timóteo 2
1 Admoesto-te pois, antes de tudo, que se façam deprecações, orações, intercessões, e acções de graças por todos os homens;
I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men,
2 Pelos reis, e por todos os que estão em eminencia, para que tenhamos uma vida quieta e socegada, em toda a piedade e honestidade.
for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
3 Porque isto é bom, é agradavel diante de Deus nosso Salvador;
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 O qual quer que todos os homens se salvem, e venham ao conhecimento da verdade.
who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
5 Porque ha um só Deus, e um só Mediador entre Deus e os homens, Jesus Christo homem.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Messiah Yeshua,
6 O qual se deu a si mesmo em preço de redempção por todos, para servir de testemunho a seu tempo.
who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time,
7 Para o que (digo a verdade em Christo, não minto) estou constituido prégador, e apostolo, e doutor dos gentios na fé e na verdade.
to which I was appointed a proclaimer and an emissary—I am telling the truth in Messiah, not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Quero pois que os varões orem em todo o logar, levantando mãos sanctas, sem ira nem contenda.
I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.
9 Que do mesmo modo as mulheres tambem se ataviem com traje honesto, com pudor e modestia, não com os cabellos encrespados, ou com oiro, ou perolas, ou vestidos preciosos,
In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing,
10 Mas (como é decente para mulheres que fazem profissão de servir a Deus) com boas obras.
but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness.
11 A mulher aprenda em silencio, com toda a sujeição.
Let a woman learn in quietness with full submission.
12 Não permitto, porém, que a mulher ensine, nem use de auctoridade sobre o marido, mas que esteja em silencio.
But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
13 Porque primeiro foi formado Adão, depois Eva.
For Adam was formed first, then Havah.
14 E Adão não foi enganado, mas a mulher, sendo enganada, caiu em transgressão.
Adam wasn’t deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;
15 Salvar-se-ha, porém, dando á luz filhos, se permanecer com modestia na fé, na caridade e na sanctificação.
but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with sobriety.
