1 Timóteo 1
1 Paulo, apostolo de Jesus Christo segundo o mandado de Deus, nosso Salvador, e do Senhor Jesus Christo, esperança nossa,
Pavl an Apostle of Iesvs Christ, by the commandement of God our Sauiour, and of our Lord Iesus Christ our hope,
2 A Timotheo meu verdadeiro filho na fé: graça, misericordia e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pae e da de Christo Jesus nosso Senhor.
Vnto Timotheus my naturall sonne in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Iesus our Lord.
3 Como te roguei, quando parti para a Macedonia, que ficasses em Epheso, para advertires a alguns, que não ensinem outra doutrina,
As I besought thee to abide still in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, so doe, that thou mayest warne some, that they teach none other doctrine,
4 Nem se dêem a fabulas nem a genealogias interminaveis, que mais produzem questões do que edificação de Deus, que consiste na fé.
Neither that they giue heede to fables and genealogies which are endles, which breede questions rather then godly edifying which is by fayth.
5 Ora o fim do mandamento é a caridade de um coração puro, e de uma boa consciencia, e de uma fé não fingida.
For the end of the commandement is loue out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained.
6 Do que, desviando-se alguns, se entregaram a vãs contendas;
From the which things some haue erred, and haue turned vnto vaine iangling.
7 Querendo ser doutores da lei, e não entendendo nem o que dizem nem o que affirmam.
They would be doctours of the Law, and yet vnderstande not what they speake, neither whereof they affirme.
8 Porém bem sabemos que a lei é boa, se alguem d'ella usa legitimamente:
And we knowe, that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully,
9 Sabendo isto, que a lei não foi posta para o justo, mas para os injustos e obstinados, para os impios e peccadores, para os profanos e irreligiosos, para os parricidas e matricidas, para os homicidas,
Knowing this, that the Lawe is not giuen vnto a righteous man, but vnto the lawles and disobedient, to the vngodly, and to sinners, to the vnholy, and to the prophane, to murtherers of fathers and mothers, to manslayers,
10 Para os fornicadores, para os sodomitas, para os roubadores de homens, para os mentirosos, para os perjuros, e para alguma outra coisa contraria á sã doutrina,
To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to lyers, to the periured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine,
11 Conforme o evangelho da gloria de Deus bemaventurado, que me foi confiado.
Which is according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which is committed vnto me.
12 E dou graças ao que me tem confortado, a Christo Jesus Senhor nosso, porque me teve por fiel, pondo-me no ministerio;
Therefore I thanke him, which hath made me strong, that is, Christ Iesus our Lord: for he counted me faithfull, and put me in his seruice:
13 A mim, que d'antes fui blasphemo, e perseguidor, e oppressor; porém foi-me feita misericordia, porquanto o fiz ignorantemente, na incredulidade.
When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and an oppresser: but I was receiued to mercie: for I did it ignorantly through vnbeliefe.
14 Mas a graça de nosso Senhor superabundou com a fé e amor que ha em Jesus Christo.
But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and loue, which is in Christ Iesus.
15 Esta é uma palavra fiel, e digna de toda a acceitação, que Christo Jesus veiu ao mundo, para salvar os peccadores, dos quaes eu sou o principal.
This is a true saying, and by all meanes worthy to be receiued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe.
16 Mas por isso me foi feita misericordia, para que em mim, que sou o principal, Jesus Christo mostrasse toda a sua longanimidade, para exemplo dos que haviam de crêr n'elle para a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
Notwithstanding, for this cause was I receiued to mercie, that Iesus Christ should first shewe on me all long suffering vnto the ensample of them, which shall in time to come beleeue in him vnto eternall life. (aiōnios g166)
17 Ora ao Rei dos seculos, immortal, invisivel, ao unico Deus seja honra e gloria para todo o sempre. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Nowe vnto the King euerlasting, immortall, inuisible, vnto God onely wise, be honour and glorie, for euer, and euer, Amen. (aiōn g165)
18 Este mandamento te dou, meu filho Timotheo, que, segundo as prophecias que d'antes houve ácerca de ti, milites por ellas boa milicia;
This commandement commit I vnto thee, sonne Timotheus, according to the prophecies, which went before vpon thee, that thou by them shouldest fight a good fight,
19 Retendo a fé, e a boa consciencia, rejeitando a qual alguns fizeram naufragio na fé.
Hauing faith and a good conscience, which some haue put away, and as concerning faith, haue made shipwracke.
20 D'entre os quaes foram Hymeneo e Alexandre, os quaes entreguei a Satanaz, para que aprendam a não blasphemar.
Of whom is Hymeneus, and Alexander, whom I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they might learne not to blaspheme.
