1 Reis 22
1 E estiveram quietos tres annos, não havendo guerra entre Syria e Israel.
And they continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
2 Porém no terceiro anno succedeu que Josaphat, rei de Judah, desceu para o rei de Israel.
And it came to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
3 E o rei de Israel disse aos seus servos: Não sabeis vós que Ramoth de Gilead é nossa? e nós estamos quietos, sem a tomar da mão do rei da Syria?
And the king of Israel said to his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we are still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria?
4 Então disse a Josaphat: Irás tu comigo á peleja a Ramoth de Gilead? E disse Josaphat ao rei de Israel: Serei como tu, e o meu povo como o teu povo, e os meus cavallos como os teus cavallos.
And he said to Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.
5 Disse mais Josaphat ao rei d'Israel: Consulta porém primeiro hoje a palavra do Senhor.
And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
6 Então o rei de Israel ajuntou os prophetas até quasi quatrocentos homens, e disse-lhes: Irei á peleja contra Ramoth de Gilead, ou deixarei de ir? E elles disseram: Sobe, porque o Senhor a entregará na mão do rei.
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
7 Disse porém Josaphat: Não ha aqui ainda algum propheta do Senhor, ao qual possamos consultar?
And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we may enquire of him?
8 Então disse o rei de Israel a Josaphat: Ainda ha um homem por quem podemos consultar ao Senhor; porém eu o aborreço, porque nunca prophetiza de mim bem, mas só mal; este é Micha, filho de Imla. E disse Josaphat: Não falle o rei assim
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
9 Então o rei de Israel chamou um eunucho, e disse: Traze-me depressa a Micha, filho de Imla.
Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten here Micaiah the son of Imlah.
10 E o rei de Israel e Josaphat, rei de Judah, estavam assentados cada um no seu throno, vestidos de vestiduras reaes, na praça, á entrada da porta de Samaria: e todos os prophetas prophetizavam na sua presença.
And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a threshingfloor at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.
11 E Zedekias, filho de Chanaana, fez para si uns cornos de ferro, e disse: Assim diz o Senhor: Com estes escornearás aos syros, até de todo os consumir.
And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou hast consumed them.
12 E todos os prophetas prophetizaram assim, dizendo: Sobe a Ramoth de Gilead, e prosperarás, porque o Senhor a entregará na mão do rei.
And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king’s hand.
13 E o mensageiro que foi chamar a Micha fallou-lhe, dizendo: Vês aqui que as palavras dos prophetas a uma voz predizem coisas boas para o rei: seja pois a tua palavra como a palavra d'um d'elles, e falla bem.
And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good.
14 Porém Micha disse: Vive o Senhor, que o que o Senhor me disser isso fallarei.
And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith to me, that will I speak.
15 E, vindo elle ao rei, o rei lhe disse: Micha, iremos a Ramoth de Gilead á peleja, ou deixaremos de ir? E elle lhe disse: Sobe, e serás prospero; porque o Senhor a entregará na mão do rei
So he came to the king. And the king said to him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
16 E o rei lhe disse: Até quantas vezes te conjurarei, que me não falles senão a verdade em nome do Senhor?
And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?
17 Então disse elle: Vi a todo o Israel disperso pelos montes, como ovelhas que não teem pastor; e disse o Senhor: Estes não teem senhor; torne cada um em paz para sua casa.
And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
18 Então o rei de Israel disse a Josaphat: Não te disse eu, que nunca prophetizará de mim bem, senão só mal?
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
19 Então disse elle: Ouve pois a palavra do Senhor: Vi ao Senhor assentado sobre o seu throno, e todo o exercito do céu estava junto a elle, á sua mão direita e á sua esquerda.
And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
20 E disse o Senhor: Quem induzirá Achab, a que suba, e caia em Ramoth de Gilead? E um dizia d'esta maneira e outro d'outra.
And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said in this manner, and another said in that manner.
21 Então saiu um espirito, e se apresentou diante do Senhor, e disse: Eu induzirei. E o Senhor lhe disse: Com que?
And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
22 E disse elle: Eu sairei, e serei um espirito de mentira na bocca de todos os seus prophetas. E elle disse: Tu o induzirás, e ainda prevalecerás; sae, e faze assim.
And the LORD said to him, How? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
23 Agora pois, eis que o Senhor poz o espirito de mentira na bocca de todos estes teus prophetas, e o Senhor fallou mal contra ti.
Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
24 Então Zedekias, filho de Chanaana, chegou, e feriu a Micha no queixo: e disse: Por onde passou de mim o espirito do Senhor para fallar a ti?
But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak to thee?
25 E disse Micha: Eis que o verás n'aquelle mesmo dia, quando entrares de camara em camara, para te esconderes.
And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.
26 Então disse o rei de Israel: Tomae a Micha, e tornae a trazel-o a Amon, o chefe da cidade, e a Joás filho do rei,
And the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
27 E direis: Assim diz o rei: Mettei este homem na casa do carcere, e sustentae-o com o pão de angustia, e com agua de amargura, até que eu venha em paz.
And say, Thus saith the king, Put this man in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.
28 E disse Micha: Se tu voltares em paz, o Senhor não tem fallado por mim. Disse mais: Ouvi todos os povos!
And Micaiah said, If thou shalt return at all in peace, the LORD hath not spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, O people, each one of you.
29 Assim o rei de Israel e Josaphat, rei de Judah, subiram a Ramoth de Gilead.
So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.
30 E disse o rei de Israel a Josaphat: Eu me disfarçarei, e entrarei na peleja; tu porém veste os teus vestidos. Disfarçou-se pois o rei de Israel, e entrou na peleja.
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle; but put thou on thy robes. And the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.
31 E o rei da Syria deu ordem aos chefes dos carros, de que tinha trinta e dois, dizendo: Não pelejareis nem contra pequeno nem contra grande, mas só contra o rei de Israel.
But the king of Syria commanded his thirty and two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.
32 Succedeu pois que, vendo os chefes dos carros a Josaphat, disseram elles: Certamente este é o rei de Israel. E chegaram-se a elle, para pelejar com elle: porém Josaphat exclamou.
And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely this is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
33 E succedeu que, vendo os chefes dos carros que não era o rei d'Israel deixaram de seguil-o.
And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots perceived that he was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.
34 Então um homem entesou o arco, na sua simplicidade, e feriu o rei d'Israel por entre as fivelas e as couraças; então elle disse ao seu carreteiro: Vira a tua mão, e tira-me do exercito, porque estou gravemente ferido.
And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of his armour: therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, Turn thy hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
35 E a peleja foi crescendo n'aquelle dia, e o rei parou no carro defronte dos syros: porém elle morreu á tarde; e o sangue da ferida corria no fundo do carro.
And the battle increased that day: and the king was held up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at evening: and the blood ran out of the wound into the inside of the chariot.
36 E depois do sol posto passou um pregão pelo exercito, dizendo: Cada um para a sua cidade, e cada um para a sua terra!
And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the setting of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.
37 E morreu o rei, e o levaram a Samaria: e sepultaram o rei em Samaria.
So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
38 E, lavando-se o carro no tanque de Samaria, os cães lamberam o seu sangue (ora as prostitutas se lavavam ali), conforme á palavra do Senhor, que tinha dito.
And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armour; according to the word of the LORD which he spoke.
39 Quanto ao mais dos successos d'Achab, e a tudo quanto fez, e á casa de marfim que edificou, e a todas as cidades que edificou, porventura não está escripto no livro das chronicas dos reis de Israel?
Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
40 Assim dormiu Achab com seus paes; e Achazias, seu filho, reinou em seu logar.
So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
41 E Josaphat, filho de Asa, começou a reinar sobre Judah no quarto anno d'Achab, rei d'Israel.
And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
42 E era Josaphat da edade de trinta e cinco annos quando começou a reinar; e vinte e cinco annos reinou em Jerusalem: e era o nome de sua mãe Azuba, filha de Silchi.
Jehoshaphat was thirty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
43 E andou em todos os caminhos de seu pae Asa, não se desviou d'elles, fazendo o que era recto aos olhos do Senhor.
And he walked in all the ways of Asa his father; he turned not aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD: nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places.
44 Todavia os altos não se tiraram; ainda o povo sacrificava e queimava incenso nos altos.
And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
45 E Josaphat esteve em paz com o rei de Israel.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he warred, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
46 Quanto ao mais dos successos de Josaphat, e ao poder que mostrou, e como guerreou, porventura não está escripto no livro das chronicas dos reis de Judah?
And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he removed from the land.
47 Tambem desterrou da terra o resto dos rapazes escandalosos, que ficaram nos dias de seu pae Asa.
There was then no king in Edom: a deputy was king.
48 Então não havia rei em Edom, porém um vice-rei.
Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber.
49 E fez Josaphat navios de Tarsis, para irem a Ophir por causa do oiro; porém não foram, porque os navios se quebraram em Ezion-geber.
Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab to Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.
50 Então Achazias, filho de Achab, disse a Josaphat: Vão os meus servos com os teus servos nos navios. Porém Josaphat não quiz.
And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
51 E Josaphat dormiu com seus paes, e foi sepultado junto a seus paes, na cidade de David, seu pae: e Jorão, seu filho, reinou em seu logar.
Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.
52 E Achazias, filho d'Achab, começou a reinar em Samaria, no anno, dezesete de Josaphat, rei de Judah: e reinou dois annos sobre Israel.
And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:
53 E fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor; porque andou no caminho de seu pae, como tambem no caminho de sua mãe, e no caminho de Jeroboão, filho de Nebat, que fez peccar a Israel. E serviu a Baal, e se inclinou diante d'elle: e indignou ao Senhor Deus de Israel, conforme a tudo quanto fizera seu pae.
For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
