1 Coríntios 10
1 Ora, irmãos, não quero que ignoreis que nossos paes estiveram todos debaixo da nuvem, e todos passaram pelo mar.
Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 E todos foram baptizados por Moysés na nuvem e no mar,
and were all baptized into Moses by the cloud and by the sea;
3 E todos comeram d'um mesmo manjar espiritual,
and did all eat the same spiritual food;
4 E todos beberam d'uma mesma bebida espiritual, porque bebiam da pedra espiritual que os seguia; e a pedra era Christo.
and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them: and that rock was an emblem of Christ.
5 Mas Deus não se agradou da maior parte d'elles, pelo que foram prostrados no deserto.
But with the greater part of them God was displeased: for they were destroyed in the wilderness.
6 E estas coisas foram-nos feitas em figuras, para que não cubicemos as coisas más, como elles cubiçaram.
Now these things were examples for us, that we might not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Não vos façaes pois idolatras, como alguns d'elles, conforme está escripto: O povo assentou-se a comer e a beber, e levantou-se para folgar.
And be ye not idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play."
8 E não forniquemos, como alguns d'elles fornicaram; e cairam mortos n'um dia vinte e tres mil.
Neither let us commit whoredom, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 E não tentemos a Christo, como alguns d'elles tambem tentaram, e pereceram pelas serpentes.
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted Him, and were destroyed by serpents: nor murmur,
10 E não murmureis, como tambem alguns d'elles murmuraram, e pereceram pelo destruidor.
as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
11 Ora todas estas coisas lhes sobrevieram em figuras, e estão escriptas para aviso nosso, para quem já são chegados os fins dos seculos. (aiōn g165)
Now all these things happened to them as examples: and are written for our admonition, on whom the last ages are come. (aiōn g165)
12 Aquelle pois que cuida estar em pé, olhe não caia.
Wherefore let him, that thinks he standeth, take heed least he fall.
13 Não vos tomou tentação, senão humana; porém fiel é Deus, que vos não deixará tentar acima do que podeis, antes com a tentação dará tambem saida, para que a possaes supportar.
No temptation has yet taken you but what is common to man: and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able to sustain; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
14 Portanto, meus amados, fugi da idolatria.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, flee from idolatry.
15 Fallo como a entendidos, julgae vós mesmos o que digo.
I speak to you as to men of understanding: and judge ye what I say,
16 Porventura o calix de benção, que benzemos, não é a communhão do sangue de Christo? O pão que partimos não é porventura a communhão do corpo de Christo?
---The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? the bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 Porque nós, sendo muitos, somos um só pão e um só corpo: porque todos participamos do mesmo pão
For the bread is one, and we though many are one body; for we all partake of that one bread.
18 Vêde a Israel segundo a carne: os que comem os sacrificios não são porventura participantes do altar?
Consider Israel according to the flesh, Are not they, that eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar?
19 Mas que digo? Que o idolo é alguma coisa? Ou que o sacrificado ao idolo é alguma coisa?
What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that what is sacrificed to an idol is in itself any thing to stumble at?
20 Antes digo que as coisas que os gentios sacrificam, as sacrificam aos demonios, e não a Deus. E não quero que sejaes participantes com os demonios.
No: but this I say, that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.
21 Não podeis beber o calix do Senhor e o calix dos demonios: não podeis ser participantes da mesa do Senhor e da mesa dos demonios.
And I would not have you partakers with demons. Ye cannot drink of the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
22 Ou irritaremos ao Senhor? Somos nós mais fortes do que elle?
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than He?
23 Todas as coisas me são licitas, mas nem todas as coisas conveem: todas as coisas me são licitas, mas nem todas as coisas edificam.
If all things be lawful for me, yet all things are not expedient: all things may be lawful for me, but all things do not edify.
24 Ninguem busque o proveito proprio, antes cada um o que é d'outrem.
Let no one seek his own only, but every one another's benefit.
25 Comei de tudo quanto se vende no açougue, sem perguntar nada, por causa da consciencia.
Eat then whatever is sold in the shambles, asking no questions for conscience sake:
26 Porque a terra é do Senhor, e toda a sua plenitude.
for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
27 E, se algum dos infieis vos convidar, e quizerdes ir, comei de tudo o que se puzer diante de vós, sem perguntar nada por causa da consciencia.
and if any of the unbelievers invite you to an entertainment, and ye have a mind to go, whatever is set before you, eat, asking no questions for conscience-sake.
28 Mas, se alguem vos disser: Isto foi sacrificado aos idolos, não comaes, por causa d'aquelle que vos advertiu e por causa da consciencia; porque a terra é do Senhor, e toda a sua plenitude.
But if any one say to you, This hath been sacrificed to an idol, ---eat it not; for his sake who informed thee, and for conscience-sake: for, as I said, the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof, so that thou mayst have food enough without it.
29 Digo, porém, a consciencia, não a tua, mas a do outro. Pois porque ha de a minha liberdade ser julgada pela consciencia d'outrem?
Conscience I say, not thy own, but the other's; for why is my liberty to be judged by another man's conscience?
30 E, se eu com graça participo, porque sou blasphemado n'aquillo por que dou graças?
And if I partake with thankfulness, why am I blamed for that, for which I give thanks?
31 De sorte que, quer comaes quer bebaes, ou façaes outra qualquer coisa, fazei tudo para gloria de Deus.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
32 Portae-vos de modo que não deis escandalo nem aos judeos, nem aos gregos, nem á egreja de Deus.
Behave inoffensively both to the Jews, and to the Greeks, and to the church of God.
33 Como tambem eu em tudo agrado a todos, não buscando o meu proprio proveito, mas o de muitos, para que assim se possam salvar.
Even as I also endeavour to please all men in all things, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.
