1 Coríntios 1

1 Paulo (chamado apostolo de Jesus Christo, pela vontade de Deus), e o irmão Sosthenes,

PAUL, a called apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes a brother,

2 Á egreja de Deus que está em Corintho, aos sanctificados em Christo Jesus, chamados sanctos, com todos os que em todo o logar invocam o nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Christo, Senhor d'elles e nosso:

to the church of God which is at Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, to the called saints, with all those who invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both their’s and our’s:

3 Graça e paz de Deus nosso Pae, e do Senhor Jesus Christo.

grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

4 Sempre dou graças ao meu Deus por vós pela graça de Deus que vos foi dada em Jesus Christo.

I give thanks to my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which hath been given you in Christ Jesus;

5 Porque em todas as coisas sois enriquecidos n'elle, em toda a palavra e em todo o conhecimento

that in every thing ye have been enriched by him, in all utterance, and all knowledge;

6 (Como o testemunho de Christo foi confirmado entre vós).

thus the testimony of Jesus hath been confirmed among you:

7 De maneira que nenhum dom vos falte, esperando a manifestação de nosso Senhor Jesus Christo,

so that ye have not been deficient in any gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8 O qual vos confirmará tambem até ao fim, para serdes irreprehensiveis no dia de nosso Senhor Jesus Christo.

who shall confirm you to the end blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Fiel é Deus, pelo qual fostes chamados para a communhão de seu Filho Jesus Christo nosso Senhor.

Faithful is God, by whom ye have been called into communion with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 Rogo-vos, porém, irmãos, pelo nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Christo, que digaes todos uma mesma coisa, e que não haja entre vós dissensões; antes sejaes unidos em um mesmo sentido e em um mesmo parecer.

Now I conjure you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you; but that ye be perfectly united together in the same mind and the same sentiment.

11 Porque de vós, irmãos meus, me foi notificado pelos da familia de Chloe que ha contendas entre vós.

For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by those of the family of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 E digo isto, que cada um de vós diz: Eu sou de Paulo, e eu de Apollos, e eu de Cephas, e eu de Christo.

Now this I observe, that one and another of you saith, I am indeed of Paul; but I of Apollos; but I of Cephas; but I am of Christ.

13 Está Christo dividido? foi Paulo crucificado por vós? ou fostes vós baptizados em nome de Paulo?

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptised into the name of Paul?

14 Dou graças a Deus, porque a nenhum de vós baptizei, senão a Crispo e a Gaio.

I thank God that I baptised none of you, except Crispus and Gaius;

15 Para que ninguem diga que eu tenho baptizado em meu nome.

that no man might say, I baptised into my own name.

16 E baptizei tambem a familia de Estephanas; além d'estes, não sei se baptizei algum outro.

And I also baptised the household of Stephanus: besides these, I know not if I baptised any other person.

17 Porque Christo enviou-me, não para baptizar, mas para evangelizar; não em sabedoria de palavras, para que a cruz de Christo se não faça vã.

For Christ sent me not to baptise, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of discourse, lest the cross of Christ should be slighted.

18 Porque a palavra da cruz é loucura para os que perecem; mas para nós, que somos salvos, é o poder de Deus.

For the discourse, the subject of which is the cross, is indeed to those who perish, folly; but to us who are saved it is the power of God.

19 Porque está escripto: Destruirei a sabedoria dos sabios, e aniquilarei a intelligencia dos intelligentes.

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the understanding of the intelligent will I make useless.”

20 Onde está o sabio? Onde está o escriba? Onde está o inquiridor d'este seculo? Porventura não tornou Deus louca a sabedoria d'este mundo? (aiōn g165)

Where is the sophist? where is the scribe? where is the inquisitive searcher after this world’s wisdom? hath not God turned into folly the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)

21 Porque, como na sabedoria de Deus o mundo não conheceu a Deus pela sabedoria, aprouve a Deus salvar os crentes pela loucura da prégação.

for since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 Porque os judeos pedem signal, e os gregos buscam sabedoria;

For the Jews demand a miracle, and the Greeks seek wisdom:

23 Mas nós prégamos a Christo crucificado, que é escandalo para os judeos, e loucura para os gregos.

but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews indeed an offence, and to the Greeks folly;

24 Porém para os que são chamados, tanto judeos como gregos, lhes prégamos a Christo, poder de Deus, e sabedoria de Deus.

but to those who are called, whether Jews or Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 Porque a loucura de Deus é mais sabia do que os homens; e a fraqueza de Deus é mais forte do que os homens.

For this foolishness of God is wiser than men; and this weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 Porque, vêde, irmãos a vossa vocação, que não muitos sabios segundo a carne, nem muitos poderosos, nem muitos nobres são chamados.

For ye see your calling, brethren, that not many fleshly wise, not many men in power, not many men of high birth, are called:

27 Mas Deus escolheu as coisas loucas d'este mundo para confundir as sabias; e Deus escolheu as coisas fracas d'este mundo para confundir as fortes;

but the foolish things of this world hath God elected, that he might confound the wise; and the feeble things of the world hath God elected, that he might confound the mighty;

28 E Deus escolheu as coisas vis d'este mundo, e as despreziveis, e as que não são, para aniquilar as que são;

and the ignoble things of the world, and the despicable, hath God elected, and the things that are not, to bring to nought the things which are,

29 Para que nenhuma carne se glorie perante elle.

that no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 Mas vós sois d'elle, em Jesus Christo, o qual nos foi feito por Deus sabedoria, e justiça, e sanctificação, e redempção;

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who hath been made to us of God wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 Para que, como está escripto: Aquelle que se gloría glorie-se no Senhor.

that, as it is written, “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
