1 E quanto aos filhos de Issacar, foram: Tola, e Pua, Jasib, e Simron, quatro.
Issachar’s four sons were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.
2 E os filhos de Tola foram: Uzzi, e Rephaias, e Jeriel, e Jahmai, e Ibsam, e Samuel, chefes das casas de seus paes, de Tola, varões de valor nas suas gerações: o seu numero nos dias de David foi de vinte e dois mil e seiscentos.
Tola’s sons were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Samuel (OR, Shemuel). They were all leaders of the clans [descended from] them. In the record of Tola’s descendants were the names of 22,600 men who served in the army during the time that David was the king [of Israel].
3 E quanto aos filhos de Uzzi, houve Izraias; e os filhos de Izraias foram Michael e Obadias, e Joel, e Issias; todos estes cinco chefes.
Uzzi’s son was Izrahiah. Izrahiah’s five sons were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. Izrahiah and his sons were all leaders of their clans.
4 E houve com elles nas suas gerações, segundo as suas casas paternas, em tropas de gente de guerra, trinta e seis mil; porque tiveram muitas mulheres e filhos.
In the record of Izrahiah’s descendants were the names of 36,000 men who served in the army because they had many wives and children.
5 E seus irmãos, em todas as familias de Issacar, varões de valor, foram oitenta e sete mil, todos contados pelas suas genealogias.
In the records of the clans descended from Issachar were the names of 87,000 men who served in the army.
6 Os filhos de Benjamin foram: Bela, e Becher, e Jediael, tres.
[Some of the] sons of Benjamin were Bela, Beker, and Jediael.
7 E os filhos de Bela: Esbon, e Uzzi, e Uzziel, e Jerimoth, e Iri, cinco chefes da casa dos paes, varões de valor, que foram contados pelas suas genealogias, vinte e dois mil e trinta e quatro.
Bela’s five sons were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were all leaders of clans. In the records of the clans descended from Bela there were names of 22,034 men who served in the army.
8 E os filhos de Becher: Zemira, e Joás, e Elezer, e Elioenai, e Omri, e Jeremoth, e Abias, e Anathoth, e Alameth: todos estes foram filhos de Becher.
Beker’s sons were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth.
9 E foram contados pelas suas genealogias, segundo as suas gerações, e chefes das casas de seus paes, varões de valor, vinte mil e duzentos.
In the records of the clans descended from Beker were the names of 20,200 men and leaders of the clans who served in the army.
10 E foram os filhos de Jediael, Bilhan; e os filhos de Bilhan foram Jeus, e Benjamin, e Ehud, e Chenaana, e Zethan, e Tarsis, e Ahisahar.
Jediael’s son was Bilhan. Bilhan’s sons were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Kenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11 Todos estes filhos de Jediael foram chefes das familias dos paes, varões de valor, dezesete mil e duzentos, que sahiam no exercito á peleja.
They were all leaders of clans descended from them. There were 17,200 of them who served in the army.
12 E Suppim, e Huppim, filho de Ir, e Husim, dos filhos d'Aher.
Shuppim and Huppim were descendants of Ir. [One of] the descendants of Aher was Hushim.
13 Os filhos de Naphtali: Jahsiel, e Guni, e Jezer, e Sallum, filhos de Bilha.
Naphtali’s sons were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem. They were all descendants of [Jacob’s slave wife] Bilhah.
14 Os filhos de Manassés: Asriel, que a mulher de Gilead pariu (porém a sua concubina, a syra, pariu a Machir, pae de Gilead.
[This is a list of] Manasseh’s descendants. Manasseh had a slave wife who was from Syria. She was the mother of Asriel and Makir. Makir was the father of Gilead.
15 E Machir tomou a irmã de Huppim e Suppim por mulher, e era o seu nome Maaca), e foi o nome do segundo Selophad; e Selophad teve filhas.
Makir [had two wives]. They were from the clans of Huppim and Shuppim. One of Makir’s wives was named Maacah. Another descendant [of Makir] was Zelophehad. Zelophehad [had no sons; he] had only daughters.
16 E Maaca, mulher de Machir, pariu um filho, e chamou o seu nome Perez: e o nome de seu irmão foi Seres: e foram seus filhos Ulam e Rekem.
Makir’s wife Maacah gave birth to two sons whom she named Peresh and Sheresh. Sheresh’s sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 E os filhos d'Ulam, Bedan: estes foram os filhos de Gilead, filho de Machir, filho de Manassés.
Ulam’s son was Bedan. All those [men were considered to be] descendants of Gilead, who was the son of Makir and grandson of Manasseh.
18 E quanto á sua irmã Hammolecheth, pariu a Ishod, e a Abiezer, e a Mahla.
Makir’s sister name was Hammoleketh who was the mother of Ishdod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 E foram os filhos de Semida: Ahian, e Sechem, e Likhi, e Aniam.
[One son of Gilead was] Shemida, whose sons were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20 E os filhos de Ephraim: Suthelah, e seu filho Bered, e seu filho Tahath, e seu filho Elada, e seu filho Tahath,
[This is a list of] the descendants of Ephraim. One son of Ephraim’s was Shuthelah. Shuthelah’s son was Bered. Bered’s son was Tahath. Tahath’s son was Eleadah. Eleadah’s son was [also named] Tahath.
21 E seu filho Zabad, e seu filho Suthelah, e Ezer, e Elead: e os homens de Gath, naturaes da terra, os mataram, porque desceram para tomar os seus gados.
Tahath’s son was Zabad. Zabad’s son was Shuthelah. [Ephraim’s other sons, ] Ezer and Elead, went to Gath [city] to steal some cows and sheep. But they were both killed by some of the men from that city.
22 Pelo que Ephraim, seu pae, por muitos dias os chorou; e vieram seus irmãos para o consolar.
Their father Ephraim cried/mourned for them for many days, and his family came to comfort him.
23 Depois entrou a sua mulher, e ella concebeu, e pariu um filho; e chamou o seu nome Beria; porque ia mal na sua casa.
Then he and his wife had sex [EUP] [again], and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Ephraim named him Beriah [which resembles the word ‘trouble’, ] because of the trouble that his family had experienced.
24 E sua filha foi Sera, que edificou a Beth-horon, a baixa e a alta, como tambem a Uzzen-sera.
Ephraim’s daughter was Sheerah. Her workers built [three towns]: Lower Beth-Horon, Upper Beth-Horon, and Uzzen-Sheerah.
25 E foi seu filho Rephah, e Reseph, e Telah, seu filho, e Tahan, seu filho,
[Another] son of Ephraim was Rephah. Rephah’s son was Resheph. Resheph’s son was Telah. Telah’s son was Tahan.
26 Seu filho Ladan, seu filho Ammihud, seu filho Elisama,
Tahan’s son was Ladan. Ladan’s son was Ammihud. Ammihud’s son was Elishama.
27 Seu filho Nun, seu filho Josué.
Elishama’s son was Nun. Nun’s son was Joshua, [the man who led the Israelis after Moses died].
28 E foi a sua possessão e habitação Beth-el e os logares da sua jurisdicção: e ao oriente Naaran, e ao occidente Gezer e os logares da sua jurisdicção, e Sichem e os logares da sua jurisdicção, até Azza e os logares da sua jurisdicção;
[This is a list of] the cities and areas where the descendants of Ephraim lived: Bethel and the nearby villages; Naaran to the east; Gezer to the west and the nearby villages; and Shechem and the nearby villages. Those villages extended [north] as far as Ayyah and the nearby villages.
29 E da banda dos filhos de Manassés, Beth-sean e os logares da sua jurisdicção, Taanach e os logares da sua jurisdicção, Megiddo e os logares da sua jurisdicção, Dor e os logares da sua jurisdicção: n'estas habitaram os filhos de José, filho de Israel
Along the border of the area where the descendants of Manasseh lived were these towns: Beth-Shan, Taanach, Megiddo, and Dor, and the nearby villages. The people who lived in all those places were descendants of Jacob’s son Joseph.
30 Os filhos de Aser foram: Imna, e Isva, e Isvi, e Beria, e Sera, sua irmã.
Asher’s sons were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.
31 E os filhos de Beria: Heber e Malchiel: este foi o pae de Birzavith.
Beriah’s sons were Heber and Malkiel. Malkiel was the father of Birzaith
32 E Heber gerou a Jaflet, e a Somer, e a Hotham, e a Sua, sua irmã.
Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, and Hotham. Their sister was Shua.
33 E foram os filhos de Jaflet: Pasach, e Bimhal e Asvath; estes foram os filhos de Jaflet.
Japhlet’s sons were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath.
34 E os filhos de Semer: Ahi, Rohega, Jehubba, e Aram.
Japhlet’s [younger] brother was Shomer. Shomer’s sons were Rohgah, Hubbah, and Aram.
35 E os filhos de seu irmão Helem: Zophah, e Imna, e Seles, e Amal.
Shomer’s [younger] brother was Hotham (OR, Helem). Hotham’s sons were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36 Os filhos de Zophah: Suah, e Harnepher, e Sual, e Beri, e Imra,
Zophah’s sons were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah,
37 Beser, e Hod, e Samma, e Silsa, e Ithran, e Beera.
Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran [whose other name was Jether], and Beera.
38 E os filhos de Jether: Jefone, e Pispa e Ara.
Jether’s sons were Jephunneh, Pispah, and Ara.
39 E os filhos de Ulla: Arah, e Hanniel e Risia
[Another descendant of Asher was] Ulla, whose sons were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 Todos estes foram filhos de Aser, chefes das casas paternas, escolhidos varões de valor, chefes dos principes, e contados nas suas genealogias, no exercito para a guerra; foi seu numero de vinte e seis mil homens.
All those men were descendants of Asher, and they were all leaders of their clans. They were brave warriors and excellent leaders. In the record of the clans that are descended from Asher are [the names of] 26,000 men who served in the army.
