1 Crônicas 23
1 Sendo pois David já velho, e cheio de dias, fez a Salomão seu filho rei sobre Israel.
Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2 E ajuntou a todos os principes de Israel, como tambem aos sacerdotes e levitas.
And he gathered together all the leaders of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
3 E foram contados os levitas de trinta annos e d'ahi para cima: e foi o numero d'elles, segundo as suas cabeças, trinta e oito mil homens.
The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
4 D'estes havia vinte e quatro mil, para promoverem a obra da casa do Senhor, e seis mil officiaes e juizes,
David said, "Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; six thousand were officers and judges;
5 E quatro mil porteiros, e quatro mil para louvarem ao Senhor com os instrumentos, que eu fiz para o louvar, disse David.
four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, for giving praise."
6 E David os repartiu por turnos, segundo os filhos de Levi, Gerson, Kohath e Merari.
David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7 Dos gersonitas: Ladan e Simei.
Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
8 Os filhos de Ladan; Jehiel o chefe, e Zetham, e Joel, tres.
The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9 Os filhos de Simei: Selomith, e Haziel, e Haran, tres: estes foram os chefes dos paes de Ladan.
The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the ancestral houses of Ladan.
10 E os filhos de Simei: Jahath, Ziza, e Jeus, e Berias: estes foram os filhos de Simei, quatro.
The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zizah, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
11 E Jahath era o chefe, e Ziza o segundo, mas Jeus e Berias não tiveram muitos filhos; pelo que foram contados em casa de seus paes por uma só familia.
Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons; therefore they became a fathers' house in one reckoning.
12 Os filhos de Kohath: Amram, Ishar, Hebron, e Uziel, quatro.
The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 Os filhos de Amram: Aarão e Moysés; e Aarão foi separado para sanctificar a sanctidade das sanctidades, elle e seus filhos, eternamente; para incensar diante do Senhor, para o servirem, e para darem a benção em seu nome eternamente.
The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.
14 E quanto a Moysés, homem de Deus, seus filhos foram contados entre a tribu de Levi.
But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
15 Foram pois os filhos de Moysés, Gersom e Eliezer.
The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
16 Dos filhos de Gersom foi Sebuel o chefe.
The sons of Gershom: Shubael the chief.
17 E quanto aos filhos de Eliezer, foi Rehabias o chefe: e Eliezer não teve outros filhos; porém os filhos de Rehabias se multiplicaram grandemente.
The sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
18 Dos filhos de Ishar foi Selomith o chefe.
The sons of Izhar: Shelomoth the chief.
19 Quanto aos filhos de Hebron, foi Jerias o chefe, Amarias o segundo, Jahaziel o terceiro, e Jekamam o quarto.
The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 Quanto aos filhos de Uziel, Micha o chefe, e Issias o segundo.
The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
21 Os filhos de Merari: Maheli e Musi; os filhos de Maheli: Eleazar e Kis.
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
22 E morreu Eleazar, e não teve filhos, porém filhas; e os filhos de Kis, seus irmãos, as tomaram por mulheres.
Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only: and their brothers the sons of Kish took them as wives.
23 Os filhos de Musi: Maheli, e Eder, e Jeremath, tres.
The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24 Estes são os filhos de Levi, segundo a casa de seus paes, chefes dos paes, segundo foram contados pelo numero dos nomes, segundo os seus chefes, que faziam a obra do ministerio da casa o Senhor, da edade de vinte annos e d'ahi para cima.
These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of ancestral houses of those who were counted individually, in the number of names by their polls, who do the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward.
25 Porque disse David: O Senhor Deus de Israel deu repouso ao seu povo, e habitará em Jerusalem para sempre.
For David said, "The LORD, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.
26 E tambem, quanto aos levitas, que nunca mais levassem o tabernaculo, nem algum de seus apparelhos pertencentes ao seu ministerio.
Also the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service."
27 Porque, segundo as ultimas palavras de David, foram contados os filhos de Levi da edade de vinte annos e d'ahi para cima.
For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
28 Porque o seu cargo era de estar ao mandado dos filhos de Aarão no ministerio da casa do Senhor, nos atrios, e nas camaras, e na purificação de todas as coisas sagradas, e na obra do ministerio da casa de Deus,
For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God's house,
29 A saber: para os pães da proposição, e para a flor de farinha, para a offerta de manjares, e para os coscorões asmos, e para as sartãs, e para o tostado, e para toda a medida e mensura;
involving the show bread, the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all kinds of measure and size;
30 E para estarem cada manhã em pé para louvarem e celebrarem ao Senhor; e similhantemente á tarde;
and to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise in the evening;
31 E para cada offerecimento dos holocaustos do Senhor, nos sabbados, nas luas novas, e nas solemnidades, por conta, segundo o seu costume, continuamente perante o Senhor:
and to offer all burnt offerings to the LORD, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before the LORD;
32 E para que tivessem cuidado da guarda da tenda da congregação, e da guarda do sanctuario, e da guarda dos filhos de Aarão, seus irmãos, no ministerio da casa do Senhor.
and that they should keep the duty of the Tent of Meeting, and the duty of the holy place, and the duty of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of the LORD.
