1 Cóż więc powiemy? Czy mamy trwać w grzechu, aby łaska obfitowała?
What shall we saye then? Shall we continue in synne that there maye be aboundaunce of grace?
2 Nie daj Boże! My, którzy umarliśmy dla grzechu, jakże możemy jeszcze w nim żyć?
God forbyd. How shall we that are deed as touchynge synne live eny lenger therin?
3 Czyż nie wiecie, że my wszyscy, którzy zostaliśmy ochrzczeni w Jezusie Chrystusie, w jego śmierci zostaliśmy ochrzczeni?
Remember ye not that all we which are baptysed in the name of Iesu Christ are baptysed to dye with him?
4 Zostaliśmy więc pogrzebani z nim przez chrzest w śmierci, aby jak Chrystus został wskrzeszony z martwych przez chwałę Ojca, tak żebyśmy i my postępowali w nowości życia.
We are buryed with him by baptim for to dye that lykewyse as Christ was raysed vp from deeth by the glorye of the father: eve so we also shuld walke in a newe lyfe.
5 Jeśli bowiem zostaliśmy z nim wszczepieni w podobieństwo jego śmierci, to będziemy też [z nim wszczepieni] w podobieństwo zmartwychwstania;
For yf we be graft in deeth lyke vnto him: even so must we be in the resurreccio.
6 Wiedząc o tym, że nasz stary człowiek został ukrzyżowany razem [z nim], aby ciało grzechu zostało zniszczone, żebyśmy już więcej nie służyli grzechowi.
This we must remeber that oure olde man is crucified with him also that the body of synne myght vtterly be destroyed that hence forth we shuld not be servauntes of synne.
7 Kto bowiem umarł, został uwolniony od grzechu.
For he that is deed ys iustified from synne.
8 Jeśli więc umarliśmy z Chrystusem, wierzymy, że też z nim będziemy żyć;
Wherfore yf we be deed with Christ we beleve that we shall live with him:
9 Wiedząc, że Chrystus, powstawszy z martwych, więcej nie umiera i śmierć nad nim więcej nie panuje.
remembringe that Christ once raysed fro deeth dyeth no more. Deeth hath no moare power over him.
10 To bowiem, że umarł, raz umarł dla grzechu, a że żyje, żyje dla Boga.
For as touchynge that he dyed he dyed concernynge synne once. And as touchinge that he liveth he liveth vnto God.
11 Tak i wy uważajcie siebie za martwych dla grzechu, a żywych dla Boga w Jezusie Chrystusie, naszym Panu.
Lykewyse ymagen ye also that ye are deed concernynge synne: but are alive vnto God thorow Iesus Christ oure Lorde.
12 Niechże więc grzech nie króluje w waszym śmiertelnym ciele, żebyście [mieli] mu być posłuszni w jego pożądliwościach.
Let not synne raygne therfore in youre mortall bodyes that ye shuld thervnto obey in the lustes of it.
13 I nie oddawajcie waszych członków jako oręża niesprawiedliwości grzechowi, ale oddawajcie samych siebie Bogu jako ożywieni z martwych i wasze członki jako oręż sprawiedliwości Bogu.
Nether geve ye youre members as instrumentes of vnrightewesnes vnto synne: but geve youre selves vnto God as they that are alive from deeth. And geve youre membres as iustrumetes of rightewesnes vnto God.
14 Grzech bowiem nie będzie nad wami panował, bo nie jesteście pod prawem, lecz pod łaską.
Let not synne have power over you. For ye are not vnder the lawe but vnder grace.
15 Cóż więc? Będziemy grzeszyć, bo nie jesteśmy pod prawem, ale pod łaską? Nie daj Boże!
What then? Shall we synne because we are not vnder the lawe: but vnder grace? God forbyd.
16 Czyż nie wiecie, że komu oddajecie siebie jako słudzy w posłuszeństwo, komu jesteście posłuszni, [tego] jesteście sługami: bądź grzechu ku śmierci, bądź posłuszeństwa ku sprawiedliwości?
Remember ye not how yt to whom soever ye comit youre selves as servautes to obey his servauntes ye are to whom ye obey: whether it be of synne vnto deeth or of obedience vnto rightewesnes?
17 Ale chwała Bogu, że gdy byliście sługami grzechu, usłuchaliście z serca wzoru tej nauki, której się poddaliście;
God be thanked yt though ye were once the servauntes of synne ye have yet obeyed with herte vnto the forme of doctryne wher vnto ye were delyvered.
18 A będąc uwolnieni od grzechu, staliście się sługami sprawiedliwości.
Ye are then made fre from synne and are be come the servauntes of rightewesnes.
19 Po ludzku mówię, z powodu słabości waszego ciała. Jak bowiem oddawaliście wasze członki na służbę nieczystości i nieprawości, [aby czynić] nieprawość, tak teraz oddawajcie wasze członki na służbę sprawiedliwości, abyście byli uświęceni.
I will speake grossly because of the infirmitie of youre flesshe. As ye have geve youre membres servauntes to vnclennes and to iniquitie fro iniquitie vnto iniquitie: even so nowe geve youre membres servantes vnto rightewesnes yt ye maye be sanctified.
20 Dopóki bowiem byliście sługami grzechu, byliście wolni od sprawiedliwości.
For when ye were the servauntes of synne ye were not vnder rightewesnes.
21 Jakiż więc wówczas mieliście pożytek z tych [rzeczy], których się teraz wstydzicie? Ich bowiem końcem [jest] śmierć.
What frute had ye then in tho thinges wher of ye are now ashamed. For the ende of tho thynges is deeth.
22 Lecz teraz, uwolnieni od grzechu, gdy staliście się sługami Boga, macie swój pożytek ku uświęceniu, a na końcu życie wieczne. (aiōnios g166)
But now are ye delivered from synne and made the servauntes of God and have youre frute that ye shuld be sanctifyed and the ende everlastinge lyfe. (aiōnios g166)
