Psalmów 79
1 Psalm Asafa. Boże, poganie wtargnęli do twego dziedzictwa, splugawili twoją świętą świątynię, Jeruzalem zamienili w ruiny.
God, the nations have come into your inheritance. They have defiled your holy temple. They have laid Jerusalem [City of peace] in heaps.
2 Zwłoki twoich sług dali na żer ptactwu niebieskiemu, ciała twoich świętych bestiom ziemskim.
They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.
3 Rozlali ich krew jak wodę wokół Jeruzalem i nie było nikogo, kto by ich pogrzebał.
Their blood they have shed like water around Jerusalem [City of peace]. And there was no one to bury them.
4 Staliśmy się hańbą dla naszych sąsiadów, pośmiewiskiem i drwiną dla tych, którzy są wokoło nas.
We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.
5 Jak długo, PANIE? Czy wiecznie będziesz się gniewać? Czy twoja zapalczywość będzie płonąć jak ogień?
How long, Adonai? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?
6 Wylej twój gniew na pogan, którzy cię nie znają, i na królestwa, które nie wzywają twego imienia.
Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you; on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name;
7 Pożarli bowiem Jakuba i spustoszyli jego mieszkanie.
For they have devoured Jacob [Supplanter], and destroyed his homeland.
8 Nie pamiętaj nam dawnych nieprawości naszych, niech nas prędko spotka twoje miłosierdzie, bo jesteśmy bardzo wynędzniali.
Don’t hold the depravities (moral evils) of our forefathers against us. Let your tender rachamim ·merciful loves· speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.
9 Wspomóż nas, Boże naszego zbawienia, dla chwały imienia twego; ocal nas i przebacz nam grzechy ze względu na twoje imię.
Help us, God of our yesha' ·salvation·, for the kavod ·weighty glory· of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our habitual sins ·missing the marks·, for your name’s sake.
10 Dlaczego poganie mają mówić: Gdzież jest ich Bóg? Niech będzie znany wśród pogan na naszych oczach przez dokonanie zemsty za przelaną krew twoich sług.
Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes, that vengeance for your servants’ blood is being poured out.
11 Niech dotrze do ciebie jęk więźniów, według potęgi twego ramienia zachowaj skazanych na śmierć.
Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you. According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death.
12 I odpłać naszym sąsiadom siedmiokrotnie w ich zanadrze za zniewagę, którą ci wyrządzili, Panie!
Pay back to our neighbors seven times into their bosom their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.
13 My zaś, twój lud i owce twego pastwiska, będziemy cię wielbić na wieki, będziemy głosić twoją chwałę z pokolenia na pokolenie.
So we, your people and sheep of your pasture, will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you forever. We will tehilah ·praise song· you forever, to all generations.
