Psalmów 56

1 Przewodnikowi chóru, na Jonat elem rechokim. Miktam Dawida, gdy Filistyni schwytali go w Gat. Zmiłuj się nade mną, Boże, bo chce mnie pochłonąć człowiek; każdego dnia uciska mnie walką.

To the Overseer. — 'On the Dumb Dove far off.' — A secret treasure of David, in the Philistines' taking hold of him in Gath. Favour me, O God, for man swallowed me up, All the day fighting he oppresseth me,

2 Moi wrogowie każdego dnia chcą mnie połknąć; wielu bowiem walczy przeciwko mnie, o Najwyższy.

Mine enemies have swallowed up all the day, For many [are] fighting against me, O most High,

3 Ilekroć strach mnie ogarnia, ufam tobie.

The day I am afraid I am confident toward Thee.

4 W Bogu będę wysławiać jego słowo; Bogu ufam i nie będę się bał tego, co człowiek może mi uczynić.

In God I praise His word, in God I have trusted, I fear not what flesh doth to me.

5 Przez cały dzień przekręcają moje słowa, przeciwko mnie kierują wszystkie swe zamysły, ku memu nieszczęściu.

All the day they wrest my words, Concerning me all their thoughts [are] for evil,

6 Zbierają się, ukrywają i śledzą moje kroki, czyhając na moją duszę.

They assemble, they hide, they watch my heels, When they have expected my soul.

7 Czy unikną [zemsty] za nieprawość? Boże, powal te narody w swoim gniewie.

By iniquity they escape, In anger the peoples put down, O God.

8 Ty policzyłeś dni mojej tułaczki, zbierz [też] moje łzy do swego bukłaka; czyż nie są [spisane] w twojej księdze?

My wandering Thou hast counted, Thou — place Thou my tear in Thy bottle, Are they not in Thy book?

9 Gdy zawołam, cofną się moi wrogowie; to wiem, bo Bóg jest ze mną.

Then turn back do mine enemies in the day I call. This I have known, that God [is] for me.

10 W Bogu będę wysławiać jego słowa, w PANU będę chwalić jego słowo.

In God I praise the word, In Jehovah I praise the word.

11 Bogu ufam, nie będę się bał tego, co mi może uczynić człowiek.

In God I trusted, I fear not what man doth to me,

12 Tobie, Boże, śluby złożyłem, [dlatego też] tobie oddam chwałę.

On me, O God, [are] Thy vows, I repay thank-offerings to Thee.

13 Ocaliłeś bowiem moją duszę od śmierci, a moje nogi od upadku, abym chodził przed Bogiem w światłości żyjących.

For Thou hast delivered my soul from death, Dost Thou not my feet from falling? To walk habitually before God in the light of the living!
