Psalmów 44
1 Przewodnikowi chóru. Psalm pouczający dla synów Korego. Boże, słyszeliśmy na własne uszy, nasi ojcowie opowiadali nam o tym, czego dokonałeś za ich dni, w czasach dawnych.
For the chief musician. A psalm of the sons of Korah. A maschil. We have heard with our ears, God, our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.
2 Ty własną ręką wypędziłeś pogan, a ich osadziłeś; wyniszczyłeś narody, a ich rozprzestrzeniłeś.
You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted our people; you afflicted the peoples, but you spread our people out in the land.
3 Nie zdobyli bowiem ziemi swym mieczem ani ich nie wybawiło własne ramię, lecz twoja prawica i twoje ramię, i światło twego oblicza, bo upodobałeś ich sobie.
For they did not obtain the land for their possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.
4 Ty jesteś moim Królem, o Boże; daj wybawienie Jakubowi.
God, You are my King; command victory for Jacob.
5 Dzięki tobie pokonamy naszych wrogów, w twoje imię zdepczemy naszych przeciwników.
Through you we will push down our adversaries; through your name we will tread them under, those who rise up against us.
6 Nie zaufam bowiem mojemu łukowi i nie wybawi mnie mój miecz;
For I will not trust in my bow, neither will my sword save me.
7 Lecz ty nas wybawiłeś od naszych wrogów i zawstydziłeś tych, którzy nas nienawidzą.
But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have put to shame those who hate us.
8 Każdego dnia chlubimy się Bogiem, a twoje imię będziemy sławić na wieki. (Sela)
In God we have made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks to your name forever. (Selah)
9 [Teraz] jednak odrzuciłeś nas i zawstydziłeś, i nie wyruszasz z naszymi wojskami.
But now you have thrown us off and brought us dishonor, and you do not go out with our armies.
10 Sprawiłeś, że cofnęliśmy się przed wrogiem, a ci, którzy nas nienawidzą, złupili nas.
You make us turn back from the adversary; and those who hate us take spoil for themselves.
11 Wydałeś nas na rzeź jak owce i rozproszyłeś nas wśród pogan.
You have made us like sheep to be slaughtered and have scattered us among the nations.
12 Sprzedałeś swój lud za bezcen i nie zyskałeś na jego sprzedaży.
You sell your people for nothing; you have not increased your wealth by doing so.
13 Wystawiłeś nas na wzgardę naszym sąsiadom, na szyderstwo i pośmiewisko tym, którzy nas otaczają.
You make us a rebuke to our neighbors, scoffed and mocked by those around us.
14 Uczyniłeś nas tematem przysłowia wśród pogan, tak że narody kiwają głowami nad nami.
You make us an insult among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15 Mój wstyd wciąż jest przede mną, a hańba mi twarz okrywa;
All the day long my dishonor is before me, and the shame of my face has covered me
16 Na głos tego, który gardzi i bluźni, z powodu wroga i mściciela.
because of the voice of him who rebukes and insults, because of the enemy and the avenger.
17 To wszystko nas spotkało, a [jednak] nie zapomnieliśmy o tobie ani nie naruszyliśmy twojego przymierza.
All this has come on us; yet we have not forgotten you or dealt falsely with your covenant.
18 Nasze serce się nie odwróciło ani nasze kroki nie zboczyły z twej ścieżki;
Our heart has not turned back; our steps have not gone from your way.
19 Chociaż powaliłeś nas w miejscu smoków i okryłeś nas cieniem śmierci.
Yet you have severely broken us in the place of jackals and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 Gdybyśmy zapomnieli imienia naszego Boga i wyciągnęli ręce do obcego boga;
If we have forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a strange god,
21 Czyż Bóg by się o tym nie dowiedział? Przecież on zna tajniki serca.
would not God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
22 Lecz z powodu ciebie przez cały dzień nas zabijają, uważają nas za owce przeznaczone na rzeź.
Indeed, for your sake we are being killed all day long; we are considered to be sheep for the slaughter.
23 Ocknij się; czemu śpisz, Panie? Obudź się, nie odrzucaj nas na wieki.
Awake, why do you sleep, Lord? Arise, do not throw us off permanently.
24 Czemu ukrywasz swoje oblicze i zapominasz o naszym utrapieniu i ucisku?
Why do you hide your face and forget our affliction and our oppression?
25 Nasza dusza bowiem pogrążyła się w prochu, nasz brzuch przylgnął do ziemi.
For we have melted away into the dust; our bodies cling to the earth.
26 Powstań nam na pomoc, odkup nas ze względu na twoje miłosierdzie.
Rise up for our help and redeem us for the sake of your covenant faithfulness.
