Psalmów 37
1 Psalm Dawida. Nie oburzaj się z powodu złoczyńców ani nie zazdrość czyniącym nieprawość.
David’s. [An Alphabetical Psalm.] Burn not with vexation because of evil-doers, Be not envious of the workers of perversity;
2 Jak trawa bowiem prędko zostaną podcięci i zwiędną jak świeża zieleń.
For, like grass, soon shall they wither, and, like green herbage, shall they fade.
3 Ufaj PANU i czyń dobrze; będziesz mieszkał na ziemi i na pewno będziesz nakarmiony.
Trust in Yahweh, and do good, Dwell in the land, and feed on fidelity;
4 Rozkoszuj się PANEM, a on spełni pragnienia twego serca.
Yea, rest thy delight on Yahweh, that he may give thee the requests of thy heart.
5 Powierz PANU swoją drogę i zaufaj mu, a on wszystko wykona;
Roll on Yahweh thy way, Trust also in him, and, he, will effectually work:
6 I wyniesie twoją sprawiedliwość jak światłość, a twoją prawość jak południe.
So will he bring forth, as the light, thy righteousness, and thy vindication as the noonday.
7 Poddaj się PANU i oczekuj go; nie oburzaj się na tego, komu powodzi się w drodze, na człowieka, który spełnia swe złe zamiary.
Be resigned to Yahweh, yea wait with longing for him; Burn not with vexation at him who prospereth in his way, —at the man who doeth wickedness.
8 Zaprzestań gniewu i zaniechaj zapalczywości; nie zapalaj się gniewem do czynienia zła.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath, Burn not with vexation—[it would be] only to do evil;
9 Złoczyńcy bowiem będą wytępieni, a ci, którzy oczekują PANA, odziedziczą ziemię.
For, evil doers, shall be cut off, but, as for them who wait for Yahweh, they, shall inherit the earth.
10 Jeszcze chwila, a nie będzie niegodziwego; spojrzysz na jego miejsce, a już go nie będzie.
Yet a little, therefore, and the lawless one shall not be, Yea thou shalt look about, over his place—and he shall have vanished!
11 Lecz pokorni odziedziczą ziemię i będą się rozkoszować obfitością pokoju.
But, the patient oppressed-ones, shall inherit the earth, and shall delight themselves over the abundance of prosperity.
12 Niegodziwy knuje przeciwko sprawiedliwemu i zgrzyta na niego zębami.
Plotting is the lawless one, against the just, and gnashing upon him with his teeth.
13 Lecz Pan śmieje się z niego, bo widzi, że nadchodzi jego dzień.
My Lord, shall laugh at him, for he seeth, that his day, will come.
14 Niegodziwi dobyli miecz i napinają swój łuk, aby powalić ubogiego i potrzebującego, aby zgładzić tych, którzy idą prawą drogą;
A sword, have the lawless, drawn out, and have trodden their bow, —To bring down the oppressed and the needy, To slaughter the upright in life:
15 Lecz ich miecz przeszyje ich własne serca, a ich łuki będą złamane.
Their sword, shall enter into their own heart, and, their bow, shall be broken.
16 Lepsza jest odrobina, którą ma sprawiedliwy, niż wielkie bogactwa wielu niegodziwych;
Better the little of the righteous man, than the abundance of the lawless who are mighty;
17 Ramiona bowiem niegodziwych będą połamane, ale sprawiedliwych PAN podtrzymuje.
For, the arms of the lawless, shall be broken, But Yahweh is upholding the righteous.
18 PAN zna dni nienagannych, ich dziedzictwo będzie trwać na wieki.
Yahweh knoweth the days of the blameless, that, their inheritance, unto times age-abiding, shall continue.
19 W czasie nieszczęścia nie doznają wstydu, a w dniach głodu będą nasyceni.
They shall not be ashamed in the time of calamity, and, in the days of famine, shall they be filled.
20 Niegodziwi zaś wyginą, a wrogowie PANA znikną jak tłuszcz barani, jak dym się rozwieją.
For, the lawless, shall perish, and, the foes of Yahweh, be like the glory of the meadows, They have vanished! In smoke, have they vanished!
21 Niegodziwy pożycza i nie zwraca, a sprawiedliwy lituje się i rozdaje.
A lawless man borroweth, and will not repay, But, a righteous man, showeth favour and giveth;
22 Błogosławieni przez [PANA] odziedziczą ziemię, a przeklęci przez niego zostaną wytępieni.
For, such as are blessed of him, shall inherit the earth, But, the cursed of him, shall be cut off.
23 PAN kieruje krokami [dobrego] człowieka i jego droga mu się podoba.
From Yahweh, are the steps of a man made firm, When, with his way, he is well pleased:
24 Choćby upadł, nie zostanie [całkowicie] powalony, bo PAN podtrzymuje [go] swą ręką.
Though he fall, he shall not be hurled headlong, For, Yahweh, is holding his hand.
25 Byłem młody i jestem już stary, [lecz] nie widziałem sprawiedliwego, który by był opuszczony, ani żeby jego potomstwo żebrało o chleb.
Young, have I been, moreover am old, —Yet have I not seen, A righteous man forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread:
26 Każdego dnia lituje się i pożycza, a jego potomstwo [jest] błogosławione.
All day long, is he showing favour and lending, his seed, therefore, shall have a blessing.
27 Odstąp od złego i czyń dobrze, a będziesz trwał na wieki.
Turn from evil, and do good, and so settle down, unto times age-abiding.
28 PAN bowiem miłuje prawość i nie opuszcza swoich świętych, strzeże ich na wieki; a potomstwo niegodziwych będzie wytępione.
For, Yahweh, loveth justice, and will not forsake his men of lovingkindness, Unto times age-abiding, have the perverse been destroyed, —and the seed of the lawless, been cut off.
29 Sprawiedliwi odziedziczą ziemię i będą na niej mieszkać na wieki.
The righteous, shall inherit the earth, that they may settle down, to futurity, thereupon.
30 Usta sprawiedliwego wypowiadają mądrość, a jego język mówi o sądzie.
The mouth of a righteous man, softly uttereth wisdom, and, his tongue, speaketh justice:
31 Prawo jego Boga [jest] w jego sercu, jego kroki się nie zachwieją.
The law of his God, is in his heart, his steps shall not swerve.
32 Niegodziwy czyha na sprawiedliwego i szuka [sposobności], aby go zabić.
The lawless man, lieth in wait, for the just, and seeketh to put him to death:
33 [Lecz] PAN nie zostawi go w jego ręku i nie potępi, gdy będzie sądzony.
Yahweh, will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him, when he is judged.
34 Oczekuj PANA i strzeż jego drogi, a on cię wywyższy, abyś odziedziczył ziemię; zobaczysz zatracenie niegodziwych.
Wait for Yahweh, and observe thou his path, that he may exalt thee, to inherit the earth, On the cutting off of the lawless, shalt thou look.
35 Widziałem niegodziwego bardzo wyniosłego i rozpierającego się jak zielone drzewo laurowe;
I have seen a lawless man, a tyrant, and spreading himself out, like a cedar in Lebanon;
36 Lecz przeminął i oto już go nie było; szukałem go, ale nie mogłem go znaleźć.
Then I passed by, and lo! he had vanished! Yea I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Spójrz na nienagannego i przypatruj się prawemu, bo ten na końcu osiągnie pokój.
Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright, for there is a hereafter for the man of peace;
38 Lecz przestępcy razem zginą, niegodziwi na końcu zostaną wytępieni.
But, transgressors, are to be destroyed together, the hereafter of lawless men, is to be cut off.
39 Zbawienie zaś sprawiedliwych [pochodzi] od PANA; [on jest] ich siłą w czasie utrapienia.
But, the deliverance of the righteous, is from Yahweh, their refuge in a time of distress.
40 PAN ich wspomoże i wyzwoli; wyzwoli ich od niegodziwych i wybawi, bo w nim pokładają nadzieję.
Thus hath Yahweh helped them, thus hath he delivered them, —He will deliver them from the lawless, and will save them, because they have sought refuge in him.
