Psalmów 2
1 Dlaczego poganie się buntują, a narody knują próżne zamysły?
Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?
2 Królowie ziemscy powstają, a władcy naradzają się wspólnie przeciwko PANU i jego pomazańcowi, [mówiąc]:
The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together, —against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One [saying]:
3 Zerwijmy ich więzy i zrzućmy z siebie ich pęta.
Let us break asunder their bonds, —and cast from us their cords!
4 Lecz ten, który mieszka w niebie, będzie się śmiał, Pan będzie z nich szydził.
He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh, —My Lord, will mock at them:
5 Wtedy przemówi do nich w swoim gniewie i swą zapalczywością ich zatrwoży:
Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:
6 Ja ustanowiłem mojego króla na Syjonie, mojej świętej górze.
Yet, I, have installed my king, —on Zion my holy mountain.
7 Ogłoszę dekret: PAN powiedział do mnie: Ty jesteś moim Synem, ja ciebie dziś zrodziłem.
Let me tell of a decree, —Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:
8 Poproś mnie, a dam ci narody w dziedzictwo i krańce ziemi na własność.
Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:
9 Potłuczesz je laską żelazną, jak naczynie gliniane je pokruszysz.
Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron, —as a potter’s vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.
10 Teraz więc, królowie, zrozumcie, przyjmijcie pouczenie, sędziowie ziemi!
Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:
11 Służcie PANU z bojaźnią i radujcie się z drżeniem.
Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:
12 Pocałujcie Syna, by się nie rozgniewał i abyście nie zginęli w drodze, gdyby jego gniew choć trochę się zapalił. Błogosławieni wszyscy, którzy mu ufają.
Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger, —How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
