1 Przewodnikowi chóru. Psalm Dawida. Niebiosa głoszą chwałę Boga, a firmament obwieszcza dzieło jego rąk.
For the chief musician. A psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies make his handiwork known!
2 Dzień dniowi opowiada słowo, a noc nocy oznajmia wiedzę.
Day after day speech pours out; night after night it reveals knowledge.
3 Nie ma języka ani mowy, w których nie słychać ich głosu.
There is no speech or spoken words; their voice is not heard.
4 Ich zasięg rozchodzi się po całej ziemi i na krańce świata ich słowa. Na nich wystawił namiot słońcu.
Yet their words go out over all the earth, and their speech to the end of the world. He has pitched a tent for the sun among them.
5 A ono wychodzi jak oblubieniec ze swojej komnaty, cieszy się jak mocarz, który rozpoczyna bieg.
The sun is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and like a strong man who rejoices when he runs his race.
6 Wyrusza z jednego krańca nieba i obchodzi je aż na drugi kraniec, a nic nie ukryje się przed jego żarem.
The sun rises from the one horizon and crosses the sky to the other; nothing escapes its heat.
7 Prawo PANA jest doskonałe, nawracające duszę; świadectwo PANA pewne, dające mądrość prostemu.
The law of Yahweh is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of Yahweh is reliable, making the simple wise.
8 Nakazy PANA [są] prawe, radujące serce; przykazanie PANA czyste, oświecające oczy.
The instructions of Yahweh are right, making the heart glad; the commandment of Yahweh is pure, bringing light to the eyes.
9 Bojaźń PANA jest czysta, trwająca na wieki; sądy PANA prawdziwe, wszystkie są słuszne.
The fear of Yahweh is pure, enduring forever; the righteous decrees of Yahweh are true and altogether right!
10 Bardziej pożądane niż złoto, niż mnóstwo szczerego złota, i słodsze niż miód, nawet niż plaster miodu.
They are of greater value than gold, even more than much fine gold; they are sweeter than honey and the dripping honey from the honeycomb.
11 Także twój sługa jest przez nie pouczony, a kto ich przestrzega, otrzymuje wielką nagrodę.
Yes, by them your servant is warned; in obeying them there is great reward.
12 Lecz kto dostrzeże [własne] błędy? Oczyść mnie z [tych, które są] ukryte przede mną.
Who can discern all his own errors? Cleanse me from hidden faults.
13 Chroń też swego sługę od zuchwałych [grzechów], aby nie panowały nade mną. Wtedy będę nienaganny i wolny od wielkiego przestępstwa.
Keep your servant also from arrogant sins; let them not rule over me. Then I will be perfect, and I will be innocent from many transgressions.
14 Niech będą ci miłe słowa moich ust i rozmyślanie mego serca, PANIE, moja Skało i mój Odkupicielu!
May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock and my redeemer.
