Psalmów 137

1 Nad rzekami Babilonu, tam siedzieliśmy i płakaliśmy, wspominając Syjon.

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 Na wierzbach tamtej krainy zawiesiliśmy nasze harfy;

We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 Bo tam ci, którzy nas wzięli w niewolę, żądali od nas pieśni, a nasi ciemięzcy – radości, [mówiąc]: Śpiewajcie nam [którąś] z pieśni Syjonu.

For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us delight, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 Jakże możemy śpiewać pieśń PANA na obcej ziemi?

How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?

5 Jeśli zapomnę o tobie, Jeruzalem, niech sama o sobie zapomni moja prawica.

If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 Niech mi język przylgnie do podniebienia, jeśli nie będę pamiętał o tobie, jeśli nie postawię Jeruzalem ponad największą moją radość.

If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 Pamiętaj, PANIE, synów Edomu [i] dzień Jeruzalem, gdy mówili: Zburzcie, zburzcie [je] aż do jego fundamentu.

Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Demolish it, demolish it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 O córko Babilonu, i ty będziesz spustoszona. Błogosławiony, kto ci odpłaci [za] zło, jakie nam uczyniłaś.

O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewards you as you have served us.

9 Błogosławiony, kto schwyci i roztrzaska twe dzieci o skałę.

Happy shall he be, that takes and dashes your little ones against the stones.
