1 Słowa króla Lemuela, proroctwo, którego nauczyła go jego matka.
The words of king Lemuel; the revelation which his mother taught him.
2 Cóż, synu mój? Cóż, synu mojego łona? I cóż, synu moich ślubów?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
3 Nie oddawaj kobietom swej siły ani twoich dróg temu, co [prowadzi] do zguby królów.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
4 Nie królom, o Lemuelu, nie królom wypada pić wina i nie książętom bawić się mocnym napojem;
It is not for kings, Lemuel; it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
5 By pijąc, nie zapomnieli praw i nie wypaczyli sprawy wszystkich ludzi uciśnionych.
lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
6 Dajcie mocny napój ginącym, a wino strapionym na duchu.
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish; and wine to the bitter in soul:
7 Niech się napiją i zapomną o swoim ubóstwie, i niech nie pamiętają więcej swego utrapienia.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8 Otwórz swe usta dla niemych w sprawie wszystkich osądzonych na śmierć.
Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
9 Otwórz swe usta, sądź sprawiedliwie i broń sprawy ubogiego i nędzarza.
Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”
10 Któż znajdzie kobietę cnotliwą? Jej wartość przewyższa perły.
א (Woman-virtuous) Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies.
11 Serce męża jej ufa i zysku mu nie zabraknie.
בּ (Trusts) Her husband trusts in her from his heart, and she will prove a great asset to him.
12 Dobro mu będzie wyświadczać, a nie zło, po wszystkie dni swego życia.
גּ (Does) She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13 Szuka wełny i lnu i chętnie pracuje swymi rękami.
דּ (Seeks) She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
14 Podobna jest do okrętów handlowych; przywozi żywność z daleka.
ה (She) She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
15 Wstaje, gdy jeszcze jest noc, i daje pokarm swoim domownikom i odpowiednią porcję swym służącym.
ו (Rises) She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and chokim ·portions· for her servant girls.
16 Myśli o polu i kupuje je; z zarobku swych rąk sadzi winnice.
ז (Considers) She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
17 Przepasuje swe biodra siłą i umacnia swoje ramiona.
ח (Grids) She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
18 Dostrzega, że jej dorobek jest dobry, a jej pochodnia w nocy nie gaśnie.
ט (Perceives) She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out by night.
19 Wyciąga ręce po kądziel, a dłonią chwyta wrzeciono.
י (Hands) She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20 Otwiera dłoń przed ubogim i wyciąga swe ręce do nędzarza.
כּ (Hands) She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
21 Nie boi się śniegu dla swych domowników, bo wszyscy jej domownicy są ubrani w szkarłat.
ל (Not-afraid) She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 Robi sobie kobierce; jej ubiór jest z jedwabiu i purpury.
מ (Coverings) She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Jej mąż jest znany w bramach, gdy siedzi wśród starszyzny ziemi.
נ (Known) Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 Wyrabia płótno i sprzedaje je, dostarcza pasy kupcowi.
ס (linen) She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Siła i godność są jej strojem; będzie się cieszyła jeszcze w przyszłości.
ע (Strength) Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
26 Otwiera swe usta mądrze i na jej języku [jest] prawo miłosierdzia.
פּ (Mouth) She opens her mouth with wisdom. Instructions of chesed ·loving-kindness· is on her tongue.
27 Dogląda spraw swego domu i nie je chleba próżniactwa.
צ (Looks) She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Jej dzieci powstają i błogosławią jej, mąż także ją chwali:
ק (Rise up) Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband too, as he praises her:
29 Wiele kobiet poczynało sobie cnotliwie, ale ty przewyższasz je wszystkie.
ר (Many) “Many women have done noble things, but you excel them all.”
30 Wdzięk [jest] zwodniczy i piękność próżna, [lecz] kobieta, która się boi PANA, jest godna pochwały.
שׁ (Deceitful) Chen ·Charm, Grace· is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Adonai, she shall be praised.
31 Dajcie jej z owocu jej rąk i niech jej czyny chwalą ją w bramach.
תּ (Give) Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works speak her praise at the city gates!
