1 A lud zaczął się skarżyć, co się PANU nie podobało. Gdy więc PAN to usłyszał, bardzo się rozgniewał. I ogień PANA zapalił się przeciwko niemu i pochłonął krańce obozu.
When the people became murmurers, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it, therefore his wrath was kindled, and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed the vtmost parte of the hoste.
2 Wtedy wołał lud na Mojżesza, a Mojżesz pomodlił się do PANA i ogień zgasł.
Then the people cryed vnto Moses: and when Moses praied vnto the Lord, the fire was quenched.
3 I nazwał to miejsce Tabera, bo ogień PANA zapalił się przeciwko nim.
And he called the name of that place Taberah, because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.
4 A pospólstwo, które było wśród nich, ogarnęło pragnienie. Synowie Izraela też płakali na nowo i mówili: Któż nas nakarmi mięsem?
And a nomber of people that was amog them, fell a lusting, and turned away, and the children of Israel also wept, and saide, Who shall giue vs flesh to eate?
5 Wspominamy ryby, które jedliśmy w Egipcie za darmo, ogórki, melony, pory, cebulę i czosnek.
We remember the fish which we did eat in Egypt for nought, the cucumbers, and the pepons, and the leekes, and the onions, and the garleke.
6 A teraz nasza dusza wyschła, bo nic innego [przed] oczami [nie mamy] oprócz tej manny.
But now our soule is dryed away, we can see nothing but this Man.
7 A manna była jak nasienie kolendry, a jej kolor jak kolor bdellium.
(The Man also was as coriander seede, and his colour like the colour of bdelium.
8 Ludzie wychodzili i zbierali ją, i mełli w żarnach albo tłukli w moździerzach, potem gotowali w kotłach i robili z niej placki. Jej smak był jak smak świeżej oliwy.
The people went about and gathered it, and ground it in milles, or beat it in morters, and baked it in a cauldron, and made cakes of it, and the taste of it was like vnto the taste of fresh oyle.
9 Gdy bowiem nocą opadała rosa na obóz, spadała też na niego manna.
And when the dewe fell downe vpon the hoste in the night, the Man fell with it)
10 Wtedy Mojżesz usłyszał, że lud płacze w swoich rodzinach, każdy przy wejściu do swojego namiotu. Wówczas mocno zapłonął gniew PANA, a i Mojżeszowi to się nie podobało.
Then Moses heard the people weepe throughout their families, euery man in the doore of his tent, and the wrath of the Lord was grieuously kindled: also Moses was grieued.
11 I Mojżesz powiedział do PANA: Dlaczego tak źle się obchodzisz ze swoim sługą? Dlaczego nie znalazłem łaski w twoich oczach, że włożyłeś na mnie ciężar całego tego ludu?
And Moses saide vnto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou vexed thy seruant? and why haue I not found fauour in thy sight, seeing thou hast put the charge of al this people vpon mee?
12 Czy ja począłem cały ten lud? Czy ja go zrodziłem, że mówisz do mnie: Nieś go na swoim łonie jak opiekun nosi niemowlę do ziemi, którą przysiągłeś ich ojcom?
Haue I conceiued al this people? or haue I begotte them, that thou shouldest say vnto me, Cary them in thy bosome (as a nurse beareth the sucking childe) vnto the lande, for the which thou swarest vnto their fathers?
13 Skąd wezmę mięso, aby dać całemu temu ludowi? Płaczą bowiem przede mną i mówią: Daj nam mięsa, abyśmy mogli jeść.
Where should I haue flesh to giue vnto al this people? for they weepe vnto me, saying, Giue vs flesh that we may eate.
14 Nie mogę sam znosić całego tego ludu, gdyż jest dla mnie zbyt ciężki.
I am not able to beare al this people alone, for it is too heauie for me.
15 A jeśli tak ze mną postępujesz, to raczej zabij mnie, proszę, jeśli znalazłem łaskę w twoich oczach, abym nie patrzył na swoją niedolę.
Therefore if thou deale thus with mee, I pray thee, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, kill me, that I behold not my miserie.
16 I PAN powiedział do Mojżesza: Zbierz mi siedemdziesięciu mężczyzn spośród starszych Izraela, o których wiesz, że są starszymi ludu oraz jego przełożonymi, przyprowadź ich do Namiotu Zgromadzenia i niech tam staną wraz z tobą.
Then the Lord said vnto Moses, Gather vnto me seuetie men of ye Elders of Israel, whome thou knowest, that they are the Elders of the people, and gouernonrs ouer them, and bring them vnto the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and let them stand there with thee,
17 A ja zstąpię i będę tam z tobą rozmawiał. Potem wezmę z ducha, który jest na tobie, i złożę na nich. Będą nosić razem z tobą brzemię ludu, abyś nie musiał go nosić ty sam.
And I will come downe, and talke with thee there, and take of the Spirite, which is vpon thee, and put vpon them, and they shall beare the burthen of the people with thee: so thou shalt not beare it alone.
18 A do ludu powiesz: Poświęćcie się na jutro, a będziecie jeść mięso. Płakaliście bowiem, a to dotarło do uszu PANA: Któż nas nakarmi mięsem? Bo było nam lepiej w Egipcie! PAN da wam więc mięso i będziecie jeść.
Furthermore thou shalt saye vnto the people, Bee sanctified against to morowe, and yee shall eate flesh: for you haue wept in the eares of the Lord, saying, Who shall giue vs flesh to eate? for we were better in Egypt: therefore the Lord will giue you flesh, and ye shall eate.
19 Będziecie je jeść nie przez jeden dzień ani [nie] przez dwa dni, ani przez pięć, ani przez dziesięć dni, ani przez dwadzieścia dni;
Ye shall not eat one day nor two daies, nor fiue daies, neither ten daies, nor twentie dayes,
20 Lecz przez cały miesiąc, aż wam wyjdzie przez nozdrza i zupełnie [wam] obrzydnie. Wzgardziliście bowiem PANEM, który jest wśród was, i płakaliście przed nim, mówiąc: Po co wyszliśmy z Egiptu?
But a whole moneth, vntill it come out at your nostrels, and bee lothesome vnto you, because ye haue contemned the Lord, which is among you, and haue wept before him, saying, Why came we hither out of Egypt?
21 Mojżesz powiedział: Sześćset tysięcy pieszych liczy ten lud, pośród którego mieszkam, a ty powiedziałeś: Dam im mięsa i będą jeść przez cały miesiąc.
And Moses saide, Six hundreth thousande footemen are there of the people, among whom I am: and thou saiest, I will giue them flesh, that they may eate a moneth long.
22 Czy można zabić [tyle] owiec i wołów, aby im wystarczyło? Czy można dla nich zebrać wszystkie ryby morskie, aby mieli dosyć?
Shall the sheepe and the beeues be slaine for them, to finde them? either shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them to suffice them?
23 PAN powiedział do Mojżesza: Czy ręka PANA jest zbyt krótka? Teraz zobaczysz, czy moje słowo się wypełni, czy też nie.
And the Lord saide vnto Moses, Is the Lordes hand shortened? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to passe vnto thee, or no.
24 Mojżesz wyszedł więc i opowiedział ludowi słowa PANA. Następnie zebrał siedemdziesięciu mężczyzn spośród starszych ludu i postawił ich wokół namiotu.
So Moses went out, and told the people the wordes of the Lord, and gathered seuentie men of the Elders of the people, and set them round about the Tabernacle.
25 Wtedy PAN zstąpił w obłoku i przemówił do niego. Potem wziął z ducha, który był na nim, i dał go siedemdziesięciu starszym. A gdy spoczął na nich duch, prorokowali i nie przestali.
Then the Lord came downe in a cloude, and spake vnto him, and tooke of the Spirit that was vpon him, and put it vpon the seuentie Ancient men: and when the Spirit rested vpon them, then they prophecied, and did not cease.
26 Lecz dwaj mężczyźni pozostali w obozie: jeden miał na imię Eldad, a drugi – Medad. Na nich też spoczął duch, bo oni byli wśród spisanych, choć nie przybyli do namiotu. Prorokowali [jednak] w obozie.
But there remained two of the men in the hoste: the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad, and the Spirit rested vpon them, (for they were of them that were written, and went not out vnto the Tabernacle) and they prophecied in the hoste.
27 Wtedy młodzieniec przybiegł i powiedział do Mojżesza: Eldad i Medad prorokują w obozie.
Then there ranne a yong man, and tolde Moses, and saide, Eldad and Medad doe prophesie in the hoste.
28 A Jozue, syn Nuna, sługa Mojżesza i jeden z jego młodzieńców, powiedział: Mojżeszu, panie mój, zabroń im.
And Ioshua the sonne of Nun the seruant of Moses one of his yong men answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
29 Mojżesz odpowiedział: Czy jesteś zazdrosny o mnie? Oby cały lud PANA zamienił się w proroków, aby PAN złożył na nim swego ducha!
But Moses saide vnto him, Enuiest thou for my sake? yea, would God that all the Lordes people were Prophets, and that the Lord woulde put his Spirit vpon them.
30 Wtedy Mojżesz wrócił do obozu wraz ze starszymi Izraela.
And Moses returned into the hoste, he and the Elders of Israel.
31 I zerwał się wiatr od PANA, który porwał od morza przepiórki i zrzucił je na obóz, na jeden dzień drogi z jednej strony i na jeden dzień drogi z drugiej strony, wokół obozu, [wysoko] na dwa łokcie nad ziemią.
Then there went foorth a winde from the Lord, and brought quailes from the Sea, and let them fall vpon the campe, a dayes iourney on this side, and a dayes iourney on the other side, round about the hoste, and they were about two cubites aboue the earth.
32 Lud stał przez cały dzień, przez całą noc i przez cały następny dzień i zbierał przepiórki. Ten, kto zebrał najmniej, [miał] dziesięć chomerów. I rozłożyli je sobie wokół obozu.
Then the people arose, al that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quailes: he that gathered the least, gathered ten Homers full, and they spred them abroade for their vse round about the hoste.
33 Lecz gdy mięso było między ich zębami, jeszcze nieprzeżute, gniew PANA zapłonął przeciw ludowi i uderzył go wielką plagą.
While the flesh was yet betweene their teeth, before it was chewed, euen the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with an exceeding great plague.
34 I nazwano to miejsce Kibrot-Hattaawa, bo tam pochowano lud, który zapragnął [mięsa].
So the name of the place was called, Kibroth-hattaauah: for there they buried the people that fell a lusting.
35 A z Kibrot-Hattaawy lud wyruszył do Chaserot; i mieszkał w Chaserot.
From Kibroth-hattaauah ye people tooke their iourney to Hazeroth, and abode at Hazeroth.
