Łukasza 18
1 Opowiedział im też przypowieść [o tym], że zawsze należy się modlić i nie ustawać;
Then Jesus told them a parable about the need to pray at all times and not lose heart.
2 Mówiąc: W pewnym mieście był sędzia, który Boga się nie bał i z człowiekiem się nie liczył.
He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man.
3 Była też w tym mieście wdowa, która przychodziła do niego i mówiła: Pomścij moją [krzywdę] na moim przeciwniku.
There was also a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’
4 On przez długi czas nie chciał, lecz potem powiedział sobie: Chociaż Boga się nie boję i z człowiekiem się nie liczę;
For a while he would not do so, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
5 To jednak, ponieważ naprzykrza mi się ta wdowa, pomszczę jej [krzywdę], aby już nie przychodziła i nie zadręczała mnie.
yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not wear me out by continually coming to me.’”
6 I powiedział Pan: Słuchajcie, co mówi niesprawiedliwy sędzia.
Then the Lord said, “Consider what this unrighteous judge said.
7 A Bóg, czy nie pomści [krzywdy] swoich wybranych, którzy wołają do niego we dnie i w nocy, chociaż długo zwleka w ich [sprawie]?
If even he ultimately rendered a just decision, will not God patiently listen to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night, and give them justice?
8 Mówię wam, że szybko pomści ich [krzywdę]. Lecz czy Syn Człowieczy znajdzie wiarę na ziemi, gdy przyjdzie?
I tell you that he will bring about justice for them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9 Powiedział też do tych, którzy ufali sobie, że są sprawiedliwi, a innych mieli za nic, taką przypowieść:
He also told this parable to some who were confident in their own righteous and regarded others with contempt:
10 Dwóch ludzi weszło do świątyni, żeby się modlić, jeden faryzeusz, a drugi celnik.
“Two men went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector.
11 Faryzeusz stanął i tak się w sobie modlił: Dziękuję ci, Boże, że nie jestem jak inni ludzie, zdziercy, niesprawiedliwi, cudzołożnicy albo jak i ten celnik.
The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed like this: ‘God, I thank yoʋ that I am not like other people: swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 Poszczę dwa razy w tygodniu, daję dziesięcinę ze wszystkiego, co mam.
I fast twice a week, and I give tithes of all that I get.’
13 A celnik, stojąc z daleka, nie chciał nawet oczu podnieść ku niebu, ale bił się w piersi, mówiąc: Boże, bądź miłosierny mnie grzesznemu.
But the tax collector stood at a distance and would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
14 Mówię wam, że raczej ten odszedł do swego domu usprawiedliwiony, a nie tamten. [Każdy] bowiem, kto się wywyższa, będzie poniżony, a kto się poniża, będzie wywyższony.
I tell you, this man went down to his home justified rather than the other one. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
15 Przynoszono też do niego niemowlęta, aby je dotknął. Lecz uczniowie, widząc to, gromili ich.
Now people were even bringing their babies to Jesus so that he might touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked those who were bringing them,
16 Ale Jezus przywołał ich i powiedział: Pozwólcie dzieciom przychodzić do mnie i nie zabraniajcie im. Do takich bowiem należy królestwo Boże.
but Jesus called for them and said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17 Zaprawdę powiadam wam: Kto nie przyjmie królestwa Bożego jak dziecko, nie wejdzie do niego.
Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will certainly not enter it.”
18 I zapytał go pewien dostojnik: Nauczycielu dobry, co mam czynić, aby odziedziczyć życie wieczne? (aiōnios g166)
Then a certain ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
19 A Jezus mu odpowiedział: Dlaczego nazywasz mnie dobrym? Nikt [nie jest] dobry, tylko jeden – Bóg.
Jesus said to him, “Why do yoʋ call me good? No one is good except God alone.
20 Znasz przykazania: Nie cudzołóż, nie zabijaj, nie kradnij, nie dawaj fałszywego świadectwa, czcij swego ojca i swoją matkę.
Yoʋ know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Honor yoʋr father and yoʋr mother.’”
21 A on odpowiedział: Tego wszystkiego przestrzegałem od młodości.
The man said, “I have kept all these commandments from the time I was a young boy.”
22 Gdy Jezus to usłyszał, powiedział do niego: Jednego ci jeszcze brakuje. Sprzedaj wszystko, co masz, i rozdaj ubogim, a będziesz miał skarb w niebie. Potem przyjdź i chodź za mną.
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing yoʋ still lack: Sell everything yoʋ have and distribute the money to the poor, and yoʋ will have treasure in heaven; then come follow me.”
23 A on, usłyszawszy to, ogromnie się zasmucił, bo był bardzo bogaty.
But when the man heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was extremely rich.
24 Kiedy Jezus zobaczył go bardzo zasmuconego, powiedział: Jakże trudno tym, którzy mają pieniądze, wejść do królestwa Bożego!
When Jesus saw that the man had become very sorrowful, he said, “How difficult it will be for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25 Łatwiej bowiem jest wielbłądowi przejść przez ucho igielne, niż bogatemu wejść do królestwa Bożego.
For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 Wtedy ci, którzy to słyszeli, mówili: Któż więc może być zbawiony?
Those who heard this said, “Who then can be saved?”
27 A on odpowiedział: Co niemożliwe jest u ludzi, możliwe jest u Boga.
Jesus said, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.”
28 Wówczas Piotr powiedział: Oto my opuściliśmy wszystko i poszliśmy za tobą.
Then Peter said, “Behold, we have left everything and followed yoʋ.”
29 On zaś im odpowiedział: Zaprawdę powiadam wam, że nie ma nikogo, kto by opuścił dom, rodziców lub braci, żonę lub dzieci dla królestwa Bożego;
Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house, parents, brothers, wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
31 Potem wziął ze sobą dwunastu i powiedział do nich: Oto idziemy do Jerozolimy i wypełni się wszystko, co zostało napisane przez proroków o Synu Człowieczym.
Then Jesus took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.
32 Będzie bowiem wydany poganom, wyśmiany, zelżony i opluty;
For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, and he will be mocked, insulted, and spit upon.
33 Ubiczują go i zabiją, ale trzeciego dnia zmartwychwstanie.
After flogging him, they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise again.”
34 Lecz oni nic z tego nie zrozumieli. Te słowa były przed nimi zakryte i nie wiedzieli, o czym była mowa.
But the disciples did not understand any of these things; this statement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what was being said.
35 A gdy zbliżał się do Jerycha, pewien ślepiec siedział przy drodze i żebrał.
As Jesus drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging.
36 A usłyszawszy przechodzący tłum, pytał, co się dzieje.
When he heard a crowd going by, he asked what was happening.
37 I powiedziano mu, że przechodzi Jezus z Nazaretu.
They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
38 Wtedy zawołał: Jezusie, Synu Dawida, zmiłuj się nade mną!
So he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 Lecz ci, którzy szli z przodu, gromili go, aby milczał. On jednak jeszcze głośniej wołał: Synu Dawida, zmiłuj się nade mną!
Then those who were out in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 Wtedy Jezus zatrzymał się i kazał go przyprowadzić do siebie. A gdy się zbliżył, zapytał go:
So Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When the man drew near, Jesus asked him,
41 Co chcesz, abym ci uczynił? A on odpowiedział: Panie, żebym przejrzał.
“What do yoʋ want me to do for yoʋ?” He said, “Lord, I want to receive my sight.”
42 Jezus mu powiedział: Przejrzyj, twoja wiara cię uzdrowiła.
So Jesus said to him, “Receive yoʋr sight; yoʋr faith has healed yoʋ.”
43 Zaraz też odzyskał wzrok i szedł za nim, wielbiąc Boga. A wszyscy ludzie, widząc to, oddawali chwałę Bogu.
Immediately he received his sight and began following Jesus, glorifying God. And when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God.
