Łukasza 14
1 I stało się tak, że gdy Jezus wszedł w szabat do domu pewnego przywódcy faryzeuszy, aby jeść chleb, oni go obserwowali.
Then it happened, when He entered the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they were watching Him closely.
2 A oto był przed nim pewien człowiek chory na puchlinę.
And then, there in front of Him was a man who had dropsy!
3 Wtedy Jezus zapytał znawców prawa i faryzeuszy: Czy wolno uzdrawiać w szabat?
And Jesus reacted by saying to the lawyers and Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”
4 Lecz oni milczeli. [On] zaś ujął go, uzdrowił i odprawił.
But they kept silent. So He took hold of him, healed him, and let him go.
5 I powiedział im: Któż z was, jeśli jego osioł albo wół wpadnie do studni, nie wyciągnie go natychmiast w dzień szabatu?
Then He addressed them saying, “Which of you, if a son or an ox falls into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?”
6 I nie mogli mu na to odpowiedzieć.
And they could not answer Him regarding these things.
7 Gdy zauważył, jak zaproszeni wybierali pierwsze miejsca, opowiedział im przypowieść:
Then He told a parable to those who were invited, having observed how they kept trying for the best places, saying to them:
8 Gdy ktoś cię zaprosi na wesele, nie siadaj na pierwszym miejscu, aby czasem ktoś ważniejszy od ciebie nie był zaproszony przez niego.
“Whenever you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not recline in the place of honor, in case someone more honorable than you has been invited by him;
9 Wówczas przyjdzie ten, który ciebie i jego zaprosił, i powie ci: Ustąp temu miejsca; i wtedy ze wstydem musiałbyś zająć ostatnie miejsce.
then he who invited you both will come and say, ‘You, give this man place!’ and then, with shame, you start to take the lowest place.
10 Lecz gdy będziesz zaproszony, idź i usiądź na ostatnim miejscu, a gdy przyjdzie ten, który cię zaprosił, powie ci: Przyjacielu, przesiądź się wyżej. Wtedy doznasz czci wobec współbiesiadników.
Rather, whenever you are invited, go and recline in the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will have honor in the presence of your fellow guests.
11 Bo każdy, kto się wywyższa, będzie poniżony, a kto się poniża, będzie wywyższony.
Because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
12 Powiedział też do tego, który go zaprosił: Gdy wydajesz obiad albo kolację, nie zapraszaj swoich przyjaciół ani braci, ani krewnych, ani bogatych sąsiadów, żeby cię czasem i oni w zamian nie zaprosili, i miałbyś odpłatę.
Then He said directly to His host: “Whenever you give a dinner or a supper, do not invite your friends, nor your brothers, nor your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid.
13 Lecz gdy wydajesz ucztę, zaproś ubogich, ułomnych, chromych i ślepych.
But whenever you make a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind;
14 A będziesz błogosławiony, bo nie mają ci czym odpłacić, ale otrzymasz odpłatę przy zmartwychwstaniu sprawiedliwych.
and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you—you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
15 Gdy usłyszał to jeden ze współbiesiadników, powiedział do niego: Błogosławiony ten, kto będzie jadł chleb w królestwie Bożym.
Well when one of the fellow-recliners heard these things, he said to Him, “Blessed is he who will eat dinner in the Kingdom of God!”
16 Wtedy on mu powiedział: Pewien człowiek wydał wielką ucztę i zaprosił wielu.
So He said to him: “A certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many.
17 A gdy nadszedł czas uczty, posłał swego sługę, żeby powiedział zaproszonym: Chodźcie, bo już wszystko gotowe.
And at meal time he sent his slave to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, because everything is now ready.’
18 A oni zaczęli się wszyscy jednomyślnie wymawiać. Pierwszy mu powiedział: Kupiłem pole i muszę iść je obejrzeć. Proszę cię, uważaj mnie za wytłumaczonego.
But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him: ‘I bought a field, and I need to go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’
19 Drugi zaś powiedział: Kupiłem pięć par wołów i idę je wypróbować. Proszę cię, uważaj mnie za wytłumaczonego.
Another said: ‘I bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’
20 A jeszcze inny powiedział: Pojąłem żonę i dlatego nie mogę przyjść.
Yet another said, ‘I have married a wife, and so I cannot come.’
21 A gdy sługa wrócił, oznajmił to swemu panu. Wtedy gospodarz rozgniewał się i powiedział do swego sługi: Wyjdź szybko na ulice i zaułki miasta i wprowadź tu ubogich, ułomnych, chromych i ślepych.
So that slave came and reported these things to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his slave, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame.’
22 I powiedział sługa: Panie, stało się, jak rozkazałeś, a jeszcze jest miejsce.
And the slave said, ‘Master, what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.’
23 Wtedy Pan powiedział do sługi: Wyjdź na drogi i [między] opłotki i przymuszaj do wejścia, aby mój dom się zapełnił.
Then the master said to the slave: ‘Go out to the roads and hedges and make people come in, so that my house may be filled.
24 Mówię wam bowiem, że żaden z tych ludzi, którzy byli zaproszeni, nie skosztuje mojej uczty.
For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet!’”
25 I szły z nim wielkie tłumy. A on, odwróciwszy się, powiedział do nich:
Now large crowds were traveling with Him, and turning He said to them:
26 Jeśli ktoś przychodzi do mnie, a nie ma w nienawiści swego ojca i matki, żony i dzieci, braci i sióstr, a nawet swego życia, nie może być moim uczniem.
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
27 Kto nie niesie swego krzyża, a idzie za mną, nie może być moim uczniem.
And whoever does not carry his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 Bo któż z was, chcąc zbudować wieżę, najpierw nie usiądzie i nie obliczy wydatków, czy mu wystarczy na ukończenie?
“Further, which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and calculate the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
29 Aby czasem, gdyby położył fundament, a nie mógłby ukończyć, wszyscy, którzy by to widzieli, nie zaczęli się z niego naśmiewać;
This so he does not lay a foundation without being able to finish, and all who see it begin to ridicule him,
30 Mówiąc: Ten człowiek zaczął budować, a nie zdołał ukończyć.
saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish!’
31 Albo który król, wyruszając na wojnę z drugim królem, najpierw nie usiądzie i nie naradzi się, czy w dziesięć tysięcy może zmierzyć się z tym, który z dwudziestoma tysiącami nadciąga przeciwko niemu?
“Or what king, going to engage another king in battle, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
32 A jeśli nie, to gdy tamten jeszcze jest daleko, wysyła poselstwo i prosi o warunki pokoju.
And if not, while the other is still far away he sends a delegation and asks for terms for peace.
33 Tak i każdy z was, kto nie wyrzeknie się wszystkiego, co posiada, nie może być moim uczniem.
“So likewise, any of you who does not renounce all his own possessions cannot be my disciple.
34 Dobra jest sól. Lecz jeśli sól zwietrzeje, czym się ją przyprawi?
Salt is good; but should the salt become insipid, with what can it be seasoned?
35 Nie nadaje się ani do ziemi, ani do nawozu; precz się ją wyrzuca. Kto ma uszy do słuchania, niech słucha.
It is fit for neither soil nor fertilizer; it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
