Księga Sędziów 7
1 Wstał więc Jerubbaal, czyli Gedeon, wcześnie rano, wraz z całym ludem, który był z nim, i rozbili obóz przy źródle Charod. A obóz Midianitów był na północ od nich, u stóp wzgórza More, w dolinie.
And he rose early Jerub-Baal that [is] Gideon and all the people which [was] with him and they encamped at En Harod and [the] camp of Midian it was of him from [the] north from [the] hill of Moreh in the valley.
2 I PAN powiedział do Gedeona: Lud, który przebywa z tobą, jest zbyt liczny, abym wydał Midianitów w jego ręce, gdyż Izrael mógłby się chełpić przede mną, mówiąc: Moja ręka mnie wybawiła.
And he said Yahweh to Gideon [is too] numerous the people which [is] with you than to give I Midian in hand their lest it should glorify itself over me Israel saying hand my it has delivered me.
3 Wołaj więc teraz do uszu ludu: Kto jest lękliwy i bojaźliwy, niech zawróci, a rano niech idzie precz ku górze Gilead. Wtedy z ludu zawróciły dwadzieścia dwa tysiące, a dziesięć tysięcy pozostało.
And therefore proclaim please in [the] ears of the people saying who? [is] fearful and trembling let him go back and he may go from [the] mountain of Gilead and it returned of the people twenty and two thousand and ten thousand they remained.
4 I PAN powiedział do Gedeona: Lud jest jeszcze zbyt liczny. Zaprowadź go do wody, a tam go doświadczę. Ten, o którym ci powiem: Ten pójdzie z tobą, on pójdzie z tobą, a ten, o którym ci powiem: Ten nie pójdzie z tobą, on nie pójdzie.
And he said Yahweh to Gideon still the people [is] numerous bring down them to the water so I may test it for you there and it will be [the one] whom I will say to you this [one] - he will go with you he he will go with you and every [one] whom I will say to you this [one] not he will go with you he not he will go.
5 Zaprowadził więc lud nad wodę, a PAN powiedział do Gedeona: Każdego, kto będzie chłeptał wodę swym językiem, jak chłepce pies, postawisz osobno; także każdy, który uklęknie na kolana, aby pić, [stanie osobno].
And he brought down the people to the water. And he said Yahweh to Gideon every [one] who he will lap up with tongue his some of the water just as it laps up the dog you will set him alone and every [one] who he will bow down on knees his to drink.
6 A liczba tych, którzy chłeptali [wodę] z ręki podnoszonej do ust, wynosiła trzystu mężczyzn; cała zaś reszta ludu klękała na kolana, aby pić wodę.
And it was [the] number of those [who] lapped with hand their to mouth their three hundred man and all [the] remainder of the people they bowed down on knees their to drink water.
7 Wtedy PAN powiedział do Gedeona: Przez tych trzystu mężczyzn, którzy chłeptali wodę, wybawię was i wydam Midianitów w twoje ręce, a reszta ludu niech wraca – każdy do siebie.
And he said Yahweh to Gideon by three hundred the man who lapped I will deliver you and I will give Midian in hand your and all the people let them go each to own place his.
8 Ten lud wziął więc ze sobą żywność oraz swe trąby. A pozostałych mężczyzn Izraela odesłał, każdego do swego namiotu, i zatrzymał tylko trzystu mężczyzn; a obóz Midianitów był poniżej, w dolinie.
And they took provision[s] the people in hand their and trumpets their and every man of Israel he sent away each to tents his and on three hundred the man he kept hold and [the] camp of Midian it was to him from under in the valley.
9 Tej nocy PAN powiedział do niego: Wstań, zejdź do obozu, bo wydałem go w twoje ręce;
And it was in the night that and he said to him Yahweh arise go down in the camp for I have given it in hand your.
10 A jeśli boisz się iść, zejdź do obozu z Purą, swoim sługą.
And if [are] afraid you to go down go down you and Purah servant your to the camp.
11 I usłyszysz, co będą mówić, a potem twoje ręce wzmocnią się, aby wyruszyć na obóz. Zeszli więc [on] i Pura, jego sługa, aż do krańca przedniej straży obozu.
And you will hear what? will they speak and after they will be strong hands your and you will go down in the camp and he went down he and Purah servant his to [the] edge of those arrayed for battle who [were] in the camp.
12 A Midianici, Amalekici oraz cały lud ze wschodu leżeli w dolinie, liczni jak szarańcza, a ich wielbłądów było bez liku, jak niezliczony jest piasek na morskim brzegu.
And Midian and Amalek and all [the] people of [the] east [were] lying in the valley like locust[s] for multitude and [belonged] to camels their not number like the sand that [is] on [the] shore of the sea for multitude.
13 Gdy Gedeon tam przyszedł, pewien człowiek opowiadał swemu towarzyszowi sen: Oto miałem sen. Bochen chleba jęczmiennego wtoczył się do obozu Midianitów, dotarł aż do namiotu i uderzył w niego, aż upadł, i wywrócił go dołem do góry, i zapadł się namiot.
And he came Gideon and there! a man [was] recounting to neighbor his a dream and he said here! a dream I have dreamed and there! (a round loaf of *Q(K)*) bread of barley [was] tumbling in [the] camp of Midian and it came to the tent and it struck it and it fell and it overturned it upwards and it fell the tent.
14 Jego towarzysz odpowiedział: To [nic innego] jak tylko miecz Gedeona, syna Joasza, męża Izraela; Bóg wydał w jego ręce Midianitów i cały obóz.
And he answered neighbor his and he said not this [is] except [the] sword of Gideon [the] son of Joash a man of Israel he has given God in hand his Midian and all the army.
15 Gdy Gedeon usłyszał opowiadanie o tym śnie i jego wytłumaczenie, podziękował [Bogu], a gdy wrócił do obozu Izraela, powiedział: Wstańcie, gdyż PAN dał w wasze ręce obóz Midianitów.
And it was when heard Gideon [the] recounting of the dream and interpretation its and he bowed down and he returned to [the] camp of Israel and he said arise for he has given Yahweh in hand your [the] camp of Midian.
16 Wtedy podzielił tych trzystu mężczyzn na trzy oddziały i dał w ręce każdemu z nich trąby oraz puste dzbany, a w dzbanach – pochodnie.
And he divided three hundred the man three companies and he put trumpets in [the] hand of all of them and jars empty and torches in [the] midst of the jars.
17 I powiedział do nich: Patrzcie na mnie i czyńcie to samo, co [ja]. Oto pójdę do krańca obozu, a co ja będę czynić, to i wy czyńcie.
And he said to them from me you will see and thus you will do and here! I [will be] coming in [the] edge of the camp and it will be just as I will do so you will do!
18 Gdy zadmę w trąbę, ja i wszyscy, którzy są ze mną, wtedy wy też zadmiecie w trąby wokół całego obozu i będziecie mówili: [Miecz] PANA i Gedeona.
And I will give a blast on the trumpet I and all who [are] with me and you will give a blast on the trumpets also you all around all the camp and you will say for Yahweh and for Gideon.
19 Przyszedł więc Gedeon wraz ze stu mężami, którzy z nim byli, do krańca obozu, właśnie wtedy, gdy zaczęła się środkowa straż. I zadęli w trąby, i potłukli dzbany, które mieli w rękach.
And he went Gideon and one hundred man who [were] with him in [the] edge of the camp [the] beginning of the watch middle just as certainly they had stationed the watchmen and they gave a blast on the trumpets and they smashed the jars which [were] in hand their.
20 Zadęły w trąby więc te trzy oddziały i potłukły dzbany; trzymając w lewej ręce pochodnie, a w prawej ręce trąby, aby zadąć, wołały: Miecz PANA i Gedeona.
And they gave a blast [the] three the companies on the trumpets and they broke the jars and they took hold in [the] hand of left their on the torches and in [the] hand of right their the trumpets to give a blast and they called out a sword for Yahweh and for Gideon.
21 I stanęli, każdy na swoim miejscu, dokoła obozu, a wszyscy w obozie powstali, krzyczeli i uciekali.
And they stood everyone in place his round about the camp and it ran all the army and they shouted in distress (and they fled. *Q(K)*)
22 Gdy więc tych trzystu [mężczyzn] zadęło w trąby, PAN obrócił miecz jednego przeciw drugiemu w całym obozie. I tak wojsko uciekło aż do Bet-Szitta w Serera, aż do granicy Abel-Mechola, w stronę Tabbat.
And they gave a blast [the] three hundred the trumpets and he set Yahweh [the] sword of each on neighbor his and on all the army and it fled the army to Beth Shittah towards Zererah to [the] border of Abel Meholah at Tabbath.
23 Wtedy zebrali się mężczyźni Izraela z Neftalego, z Aszera i całego [pokolenia] Manassesa i ścigali Midianitów.
And it was summoned [the] man of Israel from Naphtali and from Asher and from all Manasseh and they pursued after Midian.
24 Potem Gedeon rozesłał posłańców po całym pogórzu Efraim, mówiąc: Zejdźcie na spotkanie Midianitom, a zajmijcie przed nimi wody aż do Bet-Bara i Jordanu. Zebrali się więc wszyscy mężczyźni z Efraima i zajęli wody aż do Bet-Bara i Jordanu.
And messengers he sent Gideon in all [the] hill country of Ephraim saying come down to meet Midian and capture to them the waters to Beth Barah and the Jordan and he was summoned every man of Ephraim and they captured the waters to Beth Barah and the Jordan.
25 Pojmali przy tym dwóch książąt Midianu, Oreba i Zeeba; Oreba zabili na skale Oreba, a Zeeba zabili przy tłoczni Zeeba. Ścigali dalej Midianitów, a głowy Oreba i Zeeba przynieśli do Gedeona za Jordan.
And they captured [the] two [the] commanders of Midian Oreb and Zeeb and they killed Oreb at [the] rock of Oreb and Zeeb they killed at [the] winepress of Zeeb and they pursued Midian and [the] head of Oreb and Zeeb they brought to Gideon from [the] other side of the Jordan.
