Jozuego 14

1 A oto co synowie Izraela odziedziczyli w ziemi Kanaan, co przydzielili im jako dziedzictwo kapłan Eleazar i Jozue, syn Nuna, oraz naczelnicy wśród ojców pokoleń synów Izraela.

And, these, are the inheritances which the sons of Israel received in the land of Canaan, —which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the ancestral heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel gave them to inherit.

2 Ich dziedzictwa [dokonano] za pomocą losów, jak PAN rozkazał przez Mojżesza, dla dziewięciu i pół pokolenia.

By lot, was their inheritance divided, —as Yahweh commanded by the hand of Moses, unto the nine tribes and unto the half tribe.

3 Gdyż Mojżesz dał dziedzictwo dwom pokoleniom i połowie pokolenia za Jordanem, ale Lewitom nie dał dziedzictwa wśród nich.

For Moses had given the two tribes and the half tribe their inheritance over the Jordan, —but, unto the Levites, gave he no inheritance in their midst;

4 Synowie Józefa stanowili bowiem dwa pokolenia: Manassesa i Efraima. Lewitom więc nie dano udziału w ziemi oprócz miast do zamieszkania z przyległymi do nich pastwiskami dla ich stad i dobytku.

for the sons of Joseph became two tribes: Manasseh and Ephraim, —so they gave no portion to the Levites in the land, save only cities to dwell in, with the pasture lands thereof, for their cattle and for their substance.

5 Jak PAN rozkazał Mojżeszowi, tak postąpili synowie Izraela i podzielili ziemię.

As Yahweh commanded Moses, so, did the sons of Israel, —when they apportioned the land.

6 Wtedy synowie Judy przyszli do Jozuego w Gilgal i powiedział do niego Kaleb, syn Jefunnego, Kenizzyta: Ty wiesz, co PAN powiedział Mojżeszowi, mężowi Boga, o mnie i o tobie w Kadesz-Barnea.

Then came near the sons of Judah unto Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, said unto him, —Thou, knowest the word which Yahweh spake unto Moses the man of God in my behalf and in thine in Kadesh-barnea.

7 Miałem czterdzieści lat, gdy Mojżesz, sługa PANA, posłał mnie z Kadesz-Barnea na wybadanie ziemi i przyniosłem mu wiadomość zgodnie z tym, co miałem w sercu.

Forty years old, was I when Moses the servant of Yahweh sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, —so I brought him back word, as was in my heart.

8 Lecz moi bracia, którzy chodzili ze mną, zatrwożyli serce ludu. Ja [zaś] poszedłem całkowicie za PANEM, swoim Bogiem.

But, my brethren who had been up with me, made the heart of the people melt, —whereas, I, wholly followed Yahweh my God.

9 W tym dniu Mojżesz przysiągł: Zaprawdę, ziemia, którą deptała twoja noga, stanie się dziedzictwem twoim i twoich synów na wieki, ponieważ całkowicie poszedłeś za PANEM, moim Bogiem.

So then Moses sware on that day saying, Surely, the land on which thy foot hath trodden, unto thee, shall belong, for an inheritance, and unto thy sons, unto times age-abiding, —because thou hast wholly followed Yahweh my God.

10 A teraz oto PAN zachował mnie przy życiu, jak powiedział; już minęło czterdzieści pięć lat od tego czasu, kiedy PAN powiedział to do Mojżesza, gdy Izraelici wędrowali po pustyni. I oto mam dziś osiemdziesiąt pięć lat;

Now, therefore lo! Yahweh hath kept me alive as he spake these forty and five years from the time Yahweh spake this word unto Moses, while Israel journeyed in the desert. Now, therefore lo! I—to-day, am eighty and five years old:

11 A jeszcze dziś jestem tak silny, jak byłem w tym dniu, gdy Mojżesz mnie wysłał. Jaka wtedy [była] moja siła, taka jest teraz moja siła do wojny, by wyruszać i wracać.

I remain, to-day, as courageous as on the day when Moses sent me, as my strength was then, so also my strength is now, —for war, both to go out and to come in.

12 Teraz więc daj mi tę górę, o której PAN powiedział w owym dniu. Sam bowiem słyszałeś tego dnia, że tam są Anakici, a miasta [są] wielkie i warowne. Jeśli PAN będzie ze mną, wypędzę ich, jak [mi] PAN obiecał.

Now, therefore, give me this mountain, whereof Yahweh spake, on that day, —for, thou thyself, didst hear, on that day, that, Anakim, were there, and great cities fortified, if so be Yahweh be with me, then shall I dispossess them, as spake Yahweh.

13 I Jozue błogosławił mu, i dał Kalebowi, synowi Jefunnego, Hebron w dziedzictwo.

So Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron unto Caleb son of Jephunneh, for an inheritance.

14 Dlatego Hebron stał się dziedzictwem Kaleba, syna Jefunnego Kenizzyty, aż do dziś, bo całkowicie [poszedł] za PANEM, Bogiem Izraela.

For this cause, hath Hebron belonged unto Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite, for an inheritance, unto this day, —because he wholly followed Yahweh, God of Israel.

15 A Hebron zwano wcześniej Kiriat-Arba. [Arba] był wielkim człowiekiem wśród Anakitów. A ziemia zaznała pokoju od wojny.

Now, the name of Hebron, was formerly, City of Arba, the greatest man among the Anakim, was he. And, the land, had rest from war.
