1 Wtedy Piłat wziął Jezusa i ubiczował [go].
So Pilate then took Yeshua and flogged him.
2 A żołnierze upletli koronę z cierni, włożyli mu ją na głowę i ubrali go w purpurowy płaszcz.
The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.
3 I mówili: Witaj, królu Żydów! I policzkowali go.
They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.
4 Piłat znowu wyszedł na zewnątrz i powiedział do nich: Oto wyprowadzam go do was na zewnątrz, abyście wiedzieli, że nie znajduję w nim żadnej winy.
Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”
5 Wtedy Jezus wyszedł na zewnątrz w cierniowej koronie i w purpurowym płaszczu. I powiedział do nich Piłat: Oto człowiek!
Yeshua therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”
6 A gdy naczelni kapłani i [ich] słudzy zobaczyli go, zawołali: Ukrzyżuj, ukrzyżuj [go]! Piłat powiedział do nich: Wy go weźcie i ukrzyżujcie, bo ja nie znajduję w nim żadnej winy.
When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”
7 Żydzi mu odpowiedzieli: My mamy prawo i według naszego prawa powinien umrzeć, bo czynił siebie Synem Bożym.
The Judeans answered him, “We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”
8 A gdy Piłat usłyszał te słowa, [jeszcze] bardziej się zląkł.
When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.
9 I wszedł znowu do ratusza, i zapytał Jezusa: Skąd ty jesteś? Lecz Jezus nie dał mu odpowiedzi.
He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Yeshua, “Where are you from?” But Yeshua gave him no answer.
10 Wtedy Piłat powiedział do niego: Nie [chcesz] ze mną rozmawiać? Nie wiesz, że mam władzę ukrzyżować cię i mam władzę cię wypuścić?
Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you and have power to crucify you?”
11 Jezus odpowiedział: Nie miałbyś żadnej władzy nade mną, gdyby ci [jej] nie dano z góry. Dlatego ten, który mnie tobie wydał, ma większy grzech.
Yeshua answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”
12 Odtąd Piłat starał się go wypuścić. Żydzi jednak wołali: Jeśli go wypuścisz, nie jesteś przyjacielem cesarza. Każdy, kto się czyni królem, sprzeciwia się cesarzowi.
At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Judeans cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”
13 Gdy więc Piłat usłyszał te słowa, wyprowadził Jezusa na zewnątrz i usiadł na krześle sędziowskim, na miejscu zwanym Litostrotos, a po hebrajsku Gabbata.
When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Yeshua out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement”, but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”
14 A był to dzień przygotowania Paschy, około godziny szóstej. I powiedział [Piłat] do Żydów: Oto wasz król!
Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. He said to the Judeans, “Behold, your King!”
15 Lecz oni zawołali: Strać, strać! Ukrzyżuj go! Piłat ich zapytał: Waszego króla [mam] ukrzyżować? Naczelni kapłani odpowiedzieli: Nie mamy króla poza cesarzem.
They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”
16 Wtedy im go wydał, żeby go ukrzyżowano. Wzięli więc Jezusa i wyprowadzili go.
So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Yeshua and led him away.
17 A on, niosąc swój krzyż, wyszedł na miejsce zwane [Miejscem] Czaszki, a po hebrajsku Golgotą;
He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha”,
18 Gdzie go ukrzyżowali, a z nim dwóch innych z obu stron, pośrodku zaś Jezusa.
where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Yeshua in the middle.
19 Sporządził też Piłat napis i umieścił na krzyżu. A było napisane: Jezus z Nazaretu, król Żydów.
Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “YESHUA OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
20 Napis ten czytało wielu Żydów, bo miejsce, gdzie ukrzyżowano Jezusa, było blisko miasta. A było [to] napisane po hebrajsku, po grecku i po łacinie.
Therefore many of the Judeans read this title, for the place where Yeshua was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.
21 Wtedy naczelni kapłani żydowscy powiedzieli do Piłata: Nie pisz: Król Żydów, ale że on mówił: Jestem królem Żydów.
The chief priests of the Judeans therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, “I am King of the Jews.”’”
22 Piłat odpowiedział: Co napisałem, [to] napisałem.
Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
23 A gdy żołnierze ukrzyżowali Jezusa, wzięli jego szaty i podzielili na cztery części, każdemu żołnierzowi część. [Wzięli] też tunikę, a tunika ta nie była szyta, [ale] od góry cała tkana.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Yeshua, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 Mówili więc między sobą: Nie rozcinajmy jej, ale rzućmy losy o to, do kogo ma należeć; aby się wypełniło Pismo, które mówi: Podzielili między siebie moje szaty, a o moje ubranie rzucali losy. To właśnie zrobili żołnierze.
Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.
25 A przy krzyżu Jezusa stały jego matka i siostra jego matki, Maria, [żona] Kleofasa, i Maria Magdalena.
But standing by Yeshua’s cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Miriam the wife of Klofah, and Miriam Magdalene.
26 Gdy więc Jezus zobaczył matkę i ucznia, którego miłował, stojącego obok, powiedział do swojej matki: Kobieto, oto twój syn.
Therefore when Yeshua saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”
27 Potem powiedział do ucznia: Oto twoja matka. I od tej godziny uczeń [ten] wziął ją do siebie.
Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.
28 Potem Jezus, widząc, że już wszystko się wykonało, aby się wypełniło Pismo, powiedział: Pragnę.
After this, Yeshua, seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty!”
29 A stało [tam] naczynie pełne octu. Nasączono więc gąbkę octem, nałożono ją na hizop i podano mu do ust.
Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.
30 A gdy Jezus skosztował octu, powiedział: Wykonało się. I schyliwszy głowę, oddał ducha.
When Yeshua therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
31 Wtedy Żydzi, aby ciała nie zostały na krzyżu na szabat, ponieważ był dzień przygotowania (bo ten dzień szabatu był wielkim [dniem]), prosili Piłata, aby połamano im golenie i zdjęto [ich].
Therefore the Judeans, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.
32 Przyszli więc żołnierze i połamali golenie pierwszemu i drugiemu, który z nim był ukrzyżowany.
Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with him;
33 Ale gdy przyszli do Jezusa i zobaczyli, że już umarł, nie łamali mu goleni;
but when they came to Yeshua and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.
34 Lecz jeden z żołnierzy przebił włócznią jego bok i natychmiast wypłynęła krew i woda.
However, one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
35 A ten, który to widział, świadczył [o tym], a jego świadectwo jest prawdziwe [i] on wie, że mówi prawdę, abyście wy wierzyli.
He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.
36 Stało się to bowiem, aby się wypełniło Pismo: [Żadna] jego kość nie będzie złamana.
For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”
37 I znowu [w] innym [miejscu] Pismo mówi: Ujrzą tego, którego przebili.
Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”
38 A potem Józef z Arymatei, który z obawy przed Żydami był potajemnie uczniem Jezusa, prosił Piłata, aby [mógł] zdjąć ciało Jezusa. A Piłat zezwolił. Poszedł więc i zdjął ciało Jezusa.
After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Yeshua, but secretly for fear of the Judeans, asked of Pilate that he might take away Yeshua’s body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.
39 Przyszedł też Nikodem, który przedtem przyszedł w nocy do Jezusa, niosąc około stu funtów mieszaniny mirry i aloesu.
Nicodemus, who at first came to Yeshua by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.
40 Wzięli więc ciało Jezusa i owinęli je w płótna z tymi wonnościami, zgodnie z żydowskim zwyczajem grzebania [zmarłych].
So they took Yeshua’s body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Judeans is to bury.
41 A na miejscu, gdzie był ukrzyżowany, był ogród, a w ogrodzie nowy grobowiec, w którym jeszcze nikt nie był złożony.
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.
42 Tam więc położyli Jezusa z powodu żydowskiego dnia przygotowania, bo grób był blisko.
Then, because of the Judeans’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand), they laid Yeshua there.
