Hioba 19
1 Wtedy Hiob odpowiedział:
And Job answered and said,
2 Jak długo będziecie dręczyć moją duszę [i] miażdżyć mnie słowami?
How long will ye vex my soul, and crush me with words?
3 Już dziesięć razy znieważyliście mnie. Nie wstyd wam, [że] tak się znęcacie nade mną?
These ten times have ye reproached me; ye are not ashamed to stupefy me.
4 A niech tak będzie, że zbłądziłem, błąd zostaje po mojej stronie.
And be it [that] I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
5 A jeśli rzeczywiście chcecie się wynosić nade mną i dowodzić mi mojej hańby;
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and prove against me my reproach,
6 Wiedzcie, że to Bóg mnie powalił i swoją siecią mnie otoczył.
Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath surrounded me with his net.
7 Oto wołam o krzywdę, ale nikt nie słucha; krzyczę, ale nie ma sądu.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, and I am not heard; I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
8 Zagrodził mi drogę, abym nie mógł przejść, i na moich ścieżkach rozpostarł ciemność.
He hath hedged up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
9 Odarł mnie z mojej chwały i zdjął koronę z mojej głowy.
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Zniszczył mnie ze wszystkich stron i ginę; moją nadzieję wyrwał jak drzewo.
He breaketh me down on every side, and I am gone; and my hope hath he torn up as a tree.
11 Zapłonął przeciwko mnie swoim gniewem i uważa mnie za swego wroga.
And he hath kindled his anger against me, and hath counted me unto him as one of his enemies.
12 Przyszły razem jego oddziały, utorowały przeciw mnie swoją drogę i rozbiły obóz dokoła mojego namiotu.
His troops have come together and cast up their way against me, and have encamped round about my tent.
13 Moich braci oddalił ode mnie, a moi znajomi ode mnie stronią.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are quite estranged from me.
14 Opuścili mnie moi bliscy, a moi przyjaciele o mnie zapomnieli.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my known friends have forgotten me.
15 Przebywający w moim domu i moje służące uważają mnie za obcego. Stałem się cudzoziemcem w ich oczach.
The sojourners in my house and my maids count me as a stranger; I am an alien in their sight.
16 Wołałem na swego sługę, ale on się nie odzywa, chociaż go błagam swoimi ustami.
I called my servant, and he answered not; I entreated him with my mouth.
17 Moim oddechem brzydzi się moja żona, choć błagam ze względu na synów z mojego ciała.
My breath is strange to my wife, and my entreaties to the children of my [mother's] womb.
18 Nawet małe dzieci mną gardzą; gdy powstaję, urągają mi.
Even young children despise me; I rise up, and they speak against me.
19 Brzydzą się mną wszyscy moi najbliżsi; ci, których kocham, stanęli przeciw mnie.
All my intimate friends abhor me, and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 Moje kości przylgnęły do mojej skóry i do mego ciała; pozostała tylko skóra wokół zębów.
My bones cleave to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 Zlitujcie się nade mną, zlitujcie się nade mną, moi przyjaciele, bo ręka Boża mnie dotknęła.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
22 Czemu mnie prześladujecie jak Bóg? Czy nie dość wam mojego ciała?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Oby teraz zostały zapisane moje słowa! Oby je w księdze utrwalono!
Oh would that my words were written! oh that they were inscribed in a book!
24 Oby rylcem z żelaza i ołowiem zostały na wieczną pamiątkę wyryte na skale!
That with an iron style and lead they were graven in the rock for ever!
25 Wiem bowiem, że mój Odkupiciel żyje i że [w] ostateczny [dzień] stanie na ziemi.
And [as for] me, I know that my Redeemer liveth, and the Last, he shall stand upon the earth;
26 A [choć] moja skóra się rozłoży, to w swoim ciele ujrzę Boga.
And [if] after my skin this shall be destroyed, yet from out of my flesh shall I see God;
27 Ujrzę go ja sam, ujrzą go moje oczy, a nie kto inny, choć moje nerki zniszczały w moim wnętrzu.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another: — my reins are consumed within me.
28 Powinniście mówić: Czemu go prześladujemy? Gdyż we mnie znajduje się korzeń sprawy.
If ye say, How shall we persecute him? when the root of the matter is found in me,
29 Wy sami lękajcie się miecza, bo gniew za nieprawość sprowadza miecz, abyście wiedzieli, że jest sąd.
Be ye yourselves afraid of the sword! for the sword is fury against misdeeds, that ye may know there is a judgment.
