1 Oto moje oko widziało [to] wszystko, moje ucho słyszało i zrozumiało.
Loe, mine eye hath seene all this: mine eare hath heard, and vnderstande it.
2 Co wiecie wy, ja także wiem, nie jestem od was gorszy.
I knowe also as much as you knowe: I am not inferiour vnto you.
3 Dlatego chciałbym mówić z Wszechmocnym i pragnę prawować się z Bogiem.
But I will speake to the Almightie, and I desire to dispute with God.
4 Wy bowiem jesteście sprawcami kłamstwa, wszyscy jesteście marnymi lekarzami.
For in deede ye forge lyes, and all you are physitions of no value.
5 Obyście raczej zamilkli, a uznano by wam to za mądrość.
Oh, that you woulde holde your tongue, that it might be imputed to you for wisedome!
6 Słuchajcie teraz mojego rozumowania, zważajcie na obronę moich warg.
Nowe heare my disputation, and giue eare to the arguments of my lips.
7 Czy w obronie Boga będziecie mówić przewrotnie? Czy za niego będziecie mówić kłamliwie?
Will ye speake wickedly for Gods defence, and talke deceitfully for his cause?
8 Czy macie wzgląd na jego osobę? Czy chcecie spierać się po stronie Boga?
Will ye accept his person? or will ye contende for God?
9 Czy byłoby dobrze, gdyby was doświadczył? Czy chcecie go oszukać, jak się oszukuje człowieka?
Is it well that he shoulde seeke of you? will you make a lye for him, as one lyeth for a man?
10 Na pewno będzie was karać, jeśli w ukryciu będziecie stronniczy.
He will surely reprooue you, if ye doe secretly accept any person.
11 Czy jego majestat was nie przeraża? Czy jego groza na was nie padnie?
Shall not his excellencie make you afraid? and his feare fall vpon you?
12 Wasza pamięć jest jak popiół, a wasze ciała jak ciała z gliny.
Your memories may be compared vnto ashes, and your bodyes to bodyes of clay.
13 Milczcie, zostawcie mnie, abym przemówił, a niech przyjdzie na mnie, co chce.
Holde your tongues in my presence, that I may speake, and let come vpon what will.
14 Czemu mam szarpać swoje ciało zębami i kłaść swoje życie w swoje ręce?
Wherefore doe I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my soule in mine hande?
15 Oto choćby mnie zabił, jeszcze będę [mu] ufać. Moich dróg będę jednak przed nim bronić.
Loe, though he slay me, yet will I trust in him, and I will reprooue my wayes in his sight.
16 On sam będzie moim zbawieniem, bo żaden obłudnik nie przyjdzie przed jego oblicze.
He shalbe my saluation also: for the hypocrite shall not come before him.
17 Słuchajcie uważnie mojej mowy, niech wasze uszy przyjmą moją wypowiedź.
Heare diligently my wordes, and marke my talke.
18 Oto teraz jestem gotowy na sąd i wiem, że zostanę usprawiedliwiony.
Beholde nowe: if I prepare me to iudgement, I knowe that I shalbe iustified.
19 Któż będzie się spierał ze mną? Jeśli bowiem zamilknę, to umrę.
Who is he, that will pleade with me? for if I nowe holde my tongue, I dye.
20 Tylko dwóch rzeczy mi nie czyń, a nie będę się krył przed tobą.
But doe not these two things vnto me: then will I not hide my selfe from thee.
21 Oddal swoją rękę ode mnie i niech twoja groza mnie nie przeraża.
Withdrawe thine hande from me, and let not thy feare make me afraide.
22 Potem zawołaj mnie, a ja ci odpowiem, albo ja przemówię, a [ty] mi odpowiedz.
Then call thou, and I will answere: or let me speake, and answere thou me.
23 Ile mam nieprawości i grzechów? Daj mi poznać moje przestępstwo i grzech.
Howe many are mine iniquities and sinnes? shewe me my rebellion, and my sinne.
24 Czemu zakrywasz swoje oblicze i uważasz mnie za swego wroga?
Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and takest me for thine enemie?
25 Czy skruszysz liść miotany [wiatrem]? Czy będziesz gonić suche źdźbło?
Wilt thou breake a leafe driuen to and from? and wilt thou pursue the drie stubble?
26 Piszesz bowiem przeciwko mnie gorzkie rzeczy, każesz mi dziedziczyć nieprawości mojej młodości;
For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possesse the iniquities of my youth.
27 Zakułeś moje nogi w dyby, śledzisz wszystkie moje ścieżki i zaznaczasz ślady moich stóp.
Thou puttest my feete also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly vnto all my pathes, and makest the print thereof in ye heeles of my feet.
28 Niszczeję jak próchno, jak szata, którą zepsują mole.
Such one consumeth like a rotten thing, and as a garment that is motheaten.
