Izajasza 6
1 W roku, w którym umarł król Uzjasz, widziałem Pana siedzącego na wysokim i wyniosłym tronie, a tren jego szaty wypełnił świątynię.
In the year that king Uzziah died, I saw 'Adonay [Lord] sitting on a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple.
2 Serafiny stały ponad nim, a każdy z nich miał po sześć skrzydeł: dwoma zakrywał swoją twarz, dwoma przykrywał swoje nogi, a dwoma latał.
Above him stood the seraphim. Each one had six wings. With two he covered his face. With two he covered his feet. With two he flew.
3 I wołał jeden do drugiego: Święty, święty, święty, PAN zastępów. Cała ziemia jest pełna jego chwały.
One called to another, and said, “More holy than the holiest holiness is Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies]! The whole earth is full of his kavod ·weighty glory·!”
4 I filary drzwi poruszyły się od głosu wołającego, a dom napełnił się dymem.
The foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 I powiedziałem: Biada mi! Już zginąłem; jestem bowiem człowiekiem o nieczystych wargach i mieszkam wśród ludu o nieczystych wargach, a moje oczy widziały Króla, PANA zastępów.
Then I said, “Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies]!”
6 Wówczas przyleciał do mnie jeden z serafinów, mając w ręku rozżarzony węgiel, który wziął kleszczami z ołtarza;
Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.
7 I dotknął [nim] moich ust, i powiedział: Oto ten [węgiel] dotknął twoich warg; twoja nieprawość jest usunięta, a twój grzech zgładzony.
He touched my mouth with it, and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your depravity (moral evil) is taken away, and your habitual sin ·missing the mark· forgiven.”
8 Potem usłyszałem głos Pana mówiącego: Kogo poślę i kto nam pójdzie? Wtedy odpowiedziałem: Oto jestem, poślij mnie.
I sh'ma ·heard obeyed· the voice of 'Adonay [Lord], saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
9 A on powiedział: Idź i powiedz temu ludowi: Słuchajcie uważnie, ale nie rozumiejcie, patrzcie uważnie, ale nie poznawajcie.
He said, ‘Go, and tell this people, “You sh'ma ·hear obey· sh'ma ·hear obey· yet still don’t understand; and you indeed see, but don’t perceive.”
10 Zatwardź serce tego ludu, uczyń jego uszy ciężkimi [do słuchania] i zaślep jego oczy, aby nie widział swoimi oczami, nie słyszał swoimi uszami i nie zrozumiał swoim sercem, aby nie nawrócił się i nie był uzdrowiony.
Make the heart of this people fat. Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and sh'ma ·hear obey· with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.’
11 Wtedy zapytałem: Jak długo, Panie? A on odpowiedział: Aż miasta zostaną spustoszone i bez mieszkańca, domy bez ludzi, a ziemia zostanie doszczętnie spustoszona;
Then I said, “Lord, how long?” He answered, “Until cities are waste without inhabitant, and houses without man, and the land becomes utterly waste,
12 Aż PAN zapędzi ludzi daleko i będzie wielkie spustoszenie pośród ziemi.
And Adonai has removed men far away, and the forsaken places are many within the land.
13 Lecz zostanie w niej dziesiąta część, która powróci i ulegnie zniszczeniu. A jak po ścięciu terebintu lub dębu zostaje pień, [tak] samo będzie ze świętym potomstwem.
If there is a tenth left in it, that also will in turn be consumed: as a terebinth, and as an oak, whose stock remains when they are felled; so the holy seed is its stock.”
