Izajasza 39

1 W tym czasie Merodak-Baladan, syn Baladana, król Babilonu, posłał listy i dar do Ezechiasza. Usłyszał bowiem, że chorował, a potem wyzdrowiał.

At that time sent Merodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, the king of Babylon, letters and a present to Hezekiah; for he had heard that he had been sick, and was become strong again.

2 I Ezechiasz ucieszył się z tego, i pokazał im cały skarbiec swoich kosztowności: srebro i złoto, wonności, drogocenne olejki oraz swoją zbrojownię, a także wszystko, co się znajdowało w jego skarbcach. Nie było niczego, czego Ezechiasz by im nie pokazał w swoim domu i w całym swoim państwie.

And Hezekiah was rejoiced on their account, and showed them his treasure-house, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious oil, and the whole of his armor-house, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing that Hezekiah showed them not, in his house, and in all his dominion.

3 Wtedy prorok Izajasz przyszedł do króla Ezechiasza i zapytał go: Co powiedzieli ci mężczyźni i skąd przyszli do ciebie? Ezechiasz odpowiedział: Przybyli do mnie z dalekiej ziemi, z Babilonu.

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What did these men say? and whence did they come unto thee? And Hezekiah said, From a far-off country are they come unto me, from Babylon.

4 Znowu zapytał: Co widzieli w twoim domu? Ezechiasz odpowiedział: Widzieli wszystko, co jest w moim domu. Nie było niczego, czego bym im nie pokazał w swoich skarbcach.

And he said, What did they see in thy house? And Hezekiah said, all that is in my house have they seen; there is nothing that I did not show them in my treasures.

5 Wtedy Izajasz powiedział do Ezechiasza: Słuchaj słowa PANA zastępów:

And Isaiah said to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord of hosts,

6 Oto przyjdą dni, gdy zabiorą do Babilonu wszystko, co jest w twoim domu i co twoi ojcowie zgromadzili aż do tego dnia, mówi PAN.

Behold, days are coming when all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.

7 A z twoich synów, którzy będą pochodzić od ciebie i których spłodzisz, zabiorą [niektórych] i będą eunuchami w pałacu króla Babilonu.

And of thy sons that will issue from thee, whom thou wilt beget, shall they take; and they shall be court-servants in the palace of the king of Babylon.

8 Wtedy Ezechiasz powiedział do Izajasza: Dobre jest słowo PANA, które wypowiedziałeś. I dodał: Będzie bowiem pokój i prawda za moich dni.

Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and stability in my days.
