Izajasza 3
1 Oto bowiem Pan, PAN zastępów, odbierze Jerozolimie i Judzie podporę i laskę, wszelką podporę w chlebie i wszelką podporę w wodzie.
For behold, the Lord GOD of Hosts is about to remove from Jerusalem and Judah both supply and support: the whole supply of food and water,
2 Mocarza i męża walecznego, sędziego i proroka, mędrca i starca;
the mighty man and the warrior, the judge and the prophet, the soothsayer and the elder,
3 Dowódcę pięćdziesiątki i dostojnika, doradcę, wybitnego rzemieślnika i krasomówcę.
the commander of fifty and the dignitary, the counselor, the cunning magician, and the clever enchanter.
4 Książętami ustanowię chłopców, dzieci będą panować nad nimi.
“I will make mere lads their leaders, and children will rule over them.”
5 Ludzie będą gnębić jeden drugiego, każdy swego bliźniego. Dziecko powstanie przeciwko starcowi, a podły przeciwko dostojnikowi.
The people will oppress one another, man against man, neighbor against neighbor; the young will rise up against the old, and the base against the honorable.
6 Gdy człowiek uchwyci się swego brata z domu swego ojca i [powie]: Masz ubranie, bądź naszym wodzem, niech te ruiny będą pod twoją ręką;
A man will seize his brother within his father’s house: “You have a cloak—you be our leader! Take charge of this heap of rubble.”
7 Ten przysięgnie w tym dniu, mówiąc: Nie będę opatrywał [tych ran]; w moim domu bowiem nie ma chleba ani ubrania; nie czyńcie mnie wodzem ludu.
On that day he will cry aloud: “I am not a healer. I have no food or clothing in my house. Do not make me leader of the people!”
8 Bo Jerozolima upada, a Juda się wali, gdyż ich język i czyny są przeciwko PANU, aby pobudzić do gniewu oczy jego majestatu.
For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen because they spoke and acted against the LORD, defying His glorious presence.
9 Wyraz ich twarzy świadczy przeciwko nim; jak Sodoma ogłaszają swój grzech, nie kryją [go]. Biada ich duszy! Gdyż sami na siebie sprowadzają zło.
The expression on their faces testifies against them, and like Sodom they flaunt their sin; they do not conceal it. Woe to them, for they have brought disaster upon themselves.
10 Powiedzcie sprawiedliwemu, że będzie mu dobrze, bo będzie spożywać owoc swoich rąk.
Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their labor.
11 Biada niegodziwemu! Będzie mu źle, odpłacą [mu] bowiem według [czynów] jego rąk.
Woe to the wicked; disaster is upon them! For they will be repaid with what their hands have done.
12 Ciemięzcami mego ludu są dzieci i kobiety nim rządzą. O ludu mój! Twoi wodzowie cię zwodzą i niszczą drogę twoich ścieżek.
Youths oppress My people, and women rule over them. O My people, your guides mislead you; they turn you from your paths.
13 PAN powstał, aby się rozprawić, stoi, aby sądzić lud.
The LORD arises to contend; He stands to judge the people.
14 PAN stawi na sąd starszych swego ludu i ich książąt: Wy spustoszyliście [moją] winnicę, w waszych domach znajduje się łup ubogich.
The LORD brings this charge against the elders and leaders of His people: “You have devoured the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses.
15 Po co miażdżycie mój lud i uciskacie oblicza ubogich? – mówi Pan BÓG zastępów.
Why do you crush My people and grind the faces of the poor?”
16 PAN powiedział: Ponieważ wynoszą się córki Syjonu i chodzą z wyciągniętą szyją, uwodzą oczami, a chodząc, drepczą i pobrzękują swoimi nogami;
The LORD also says: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty— walking with heads held high and wanton eyes, prancing and skipping as they go, jingling the bracelets on their ankles—
17 Dlatego Pan ogoli wierzch głowy córek Syjonu i PAN obnaży ich nagość.
the Lord will bring sores on the heads of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will make their foreheads bare.”
18 W tym dniu Pan odejmie ozdobne brzękadła [od ich stóp], ich czepce i księżyce;
In that day the Lord will take away their finery: their anklets and headbands and crescents;
19 Łańcuszki, bransolety i welony;
their pendants, bracelets, and veils;
20 Czapeczki, ozdoby u nóg, opaski, naszyjniki i kolczyki;
their headdresses, ankle chains, and sashes; their perfume bottles and charms;
21 Pierścionki i wisiorki na czołach;
their signet rings and nose rings;
22 Odświętne szaty, płaszcze, szale i torebki;
their festive robes, capes, cloaks, and purses;
23 Zwierciadełka, bisior, turbany i narzutki.
and their mirrors, linen garments, tiaras, and shawls.
24 I wtedy zamiast wonności będzie smród, zamiast pasa będzie rozdarcie, zamiast upiętych włosów będzie łysina, zamiast szerokiej szaty będzie przepasanie worem i zamiast piękna będzie oparzenie.
Instead of fragrance there will be a stench; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of styled hair, baldness; instead of fine clothing, sackcloth; instead of beauty, shame.
25 Twoi mężczyźni polegną od miecza i twoi mocarze – na wojnie.
Your men will fall by the sword, and your warriors in battle.
26 Jej bramy zasmucą się i zapłaczą, a [ona], spustoszona, usiądzie na ziemi.
And the gates of Zion will lament and mourn; destitute, she will sit on the ground.
