Ozeasza 4
1 Słuchajcie słowa PANA, synowie Izraela, bo PAN wnosi skargę przeciwko mieszkańcom tej ziemi, gdyż nie ma prawdy ani żadnego miłosierdzia, ani poznania Boga [w] ziemi.
Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 Krzywoprzysięstwo, kłamstwo, zabójstwo, kradzież i cudzołóstwo mnożą się, a morderstwo goni morderstwo.
There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3 Dlatego ziemia będzie lamentować i marnieje wszystko, co w niej mieszka, wraz z polnymi zwierzętami i ptactwem nieba, nawet ryby morskie wyginą.
Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field and the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
4 Ale niech nikt z nimi się nie spiera ani ich nie strofuje, bo twój lud [jest] jak ci, którzy spierają się z kapłanem.
Yet let no man strive, neither let any man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
5 Dlatego upadniesz we dnie, upadnie też wraz z tobą prorok w nocy; wyniszczę twoją matkę.
And thou shalt stumble in the day, and the prophet also shall stumble with thee in the night; and I will destroy thy mother.
6 Mój lud ginie z braku poznania; a ponieważ ty odrzuciłeś poznanie, ja też ciebie odrzucę, abyś [już] nie był dla mnie kapłanem. Skoro zapomniałeś o prawie twego Boga, ja też zapomnę o twoich synach.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.
7 Im bardziej się rozmnożyli, tym więcej grzeszyli przeciwko mnie. [Dlatego] ich chwałę zamienię w hańbę.
As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me: I will change their glory into shame.
8 Pożerają ofiary za grzech mego ludu i swoją duszą pragną jego nieprawości.
They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.
9 I tak samo stanie się z ludem jak z kapłanem, bo ukarzę ich za ich drogi i oddam im za ich uczynki.
And it shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and will reward them their doings.
10 Będą jeść, ale się nie nasycą, będą uprawiać nierząd, ale się nie pomnożą, bo nie chcą zważać na PANA.
And they shall eat, and not have enough; they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
11 Nierząd, wino i moszcz odbierają serce.
Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the understanding.
12 Mój lud radzi się u swego drewna, a jego kij mu odpowiada, bo duch nierządu wprowadza ich w błąd i uprawiali nierząd, odstępując od swego Boga.
My people ask counsel at their stock, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredom hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
13 Na szczytach gór składają ofiary i na pagórkach palą kadzidło pod dębem, topolą i wiązem, bo ich cień jest dobry. Dlatego wasze córki uprawiają nierząd i wasze kobiety cudzołożą.
They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters commit whoredom, and your brides commit adultery.
14 Nie będę karał waszych córek, gdy uprawiają nierząd, ani waszych kobiet, gdy cudzołożą. Oni [sami] bowiem odłączają się z nierządnicami i składają ofiary wraz z nierządnicami. A lud, który [tego] nie rozumie, upadnie.
I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your brides when they commit adultery; for they themselves go apart with whores, and they sacrifice with the harlots: and the people that doth not understand shall be overthrown.
15 Jeśli ty, Izraelu, uprawiasz nierząd, niech [chociaż] Juda nie obciąży się winą. Nie idźcie do Gilgal ani nie wstępujcie do Bet-Awen, ani nie przysięgajcie: Jak żyje PAN!
Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As the LORD liveth.
16 Izrael bowiem jest nieujarzmiony jak narowista jałówka. Zaprawdę, PAN będzie ich paść jak jagnię na rozległym miejscu.
For Israel hath behaved himself stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer: now will the LORD feed them as a lamb in a large place.
17 Efraim związał się z bożkami. Zostaw go.
Ephraim is joined to idols; let him alone.
18 Ich napój czyni ich upartymi; nieustannie uprawiają nierząd; jego obrońcy wstydliwie kochają dary.
Their drink is become sour: they commit whoredom continually; her rulers dearly love shame.
19 Pochwyci ich wiatr swoimi skrzydłami i będą zawstydzeni z powodu swoich ofiar.
The wind hath wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
