Aggeusza 2
1 W siódmym [miesiącu], dwudziestego pierwszego [dnia] tego miesiąca, słowo PANA doszło przez proroka Aggeusza mówiące:
on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, this message from the Lord came to Haggai the prophet,
2 Mów teraz do Zorobabela, syna Szealtiela, namiestnika Judy, i do Jozuego, syna Josadaka, najwyższego kapłana, oraz do reszty ludu:
telling him to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to all the rest of the people:
3 Któż pozostał pośród was, który widział ten dom w jego dawnej chwale? A jakim go teraz widzicie? Czy nie wydaje się wam, że jest niczym w porównaniu z tamtym?
Who is left among you that saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Doesn’t it seem as though there is nothing there?
4 Teraz jednak umocnij się, Zorobabelu, mówi PAN; umocnij się, Jozue, synu Josadaka, najwyższy kapłanie; umocnij się też, cały ludu tej ziemi, mówi PAN, i pracujcie. Ja bowiem jestem z wami, mówi PAN zastępów.
The Lord says: Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel, be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest, be strong, all you people of the land. The Lord says: Begin the work, for I am with you. The Lord of hosts says:
5 Zgodnie ze słowem, przez które zawarłem z wami przymierze, gdy wyszliście z Egiptu, mój Duch jest stale wśród was, nie bójcie się.
When your ancestors left Egypt I made a promise to you, and I am still with you. Do not be afraid!
6 Tak bowiem mówi PAN zastępów: Jeszcze raz, [po] krótkim [czasie], wstrząsnę niebem i ziemią, morzem i lądem;
The Lord of hosts says: In a little while, I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the land.
7 Wstrząsnę wszystkimi narodami i przyjdzie Pożądany przez wszystkie narody. I napełnię ten dom chwałą, mówi PAN zastępów.
And I will shake all nations, and the precious things of all nations will come here; and I will fill this temple with glory. The Lord of hosts says:
8 Moje jest srebro i moje [jest] złoto, mówi PAN zastępów.
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,
9 Chwała tego domu będzie większa od tej, jaką miał tamten dawny, mówi PAN zastępów; bo to miejsce obdarzę pokojem, mówi PAN.
The later glory of this temple will be greater than the former. The Lord of hosts says: In this place I will grant prosperity. This is the message of the Lord of hosts.
10 Dnia dwudziestego czwartego, dziewiątego [miesiąca], w drugim roku Dariusza, słowo PANA doszło przez proroka Aggeusza mówiące:
In the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, this message from the Lord came to Haggai the prophet:
11 Tak mówi PAN zastępów: Zapytaj teraz kapłanów o prawo:
The Lord of hosts says: “Ask the priests for a ruling:
12 Gdyby ktoś niósł poświęcone mięso [włożone] za połę swojej szaty, a połą dotknął chleba, potrawy, wina, oliwy lub jakiegokolwiek pokarmu, czy to stałoby się poświęcone? Odpowiedzieli kapłani: Nie.
‘If one carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and with that garment touches bread, or stew, or wine, or oil, or any food, will it become holy?’” And the priests answered: “No.”
13 Wtedy Aggeusz zapytał: Jeśli ktoś, będąc nieczysty od zwłok, dotknie którejś z tych rzeczy, czy staje się ona nieczysta? Odpowiedzieli kapłani: Stanie się nieczysta.
Then said Haggai, “If one who is unclean by reason of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?” And the priests answered: “It would be unclean.”
14 Wtedy Aggeusz odezwał się i powiedział: Taki jest ten lud, taki jest ten naród przede mną, mówi PAN; takie jest każde dzieło ich rąk; i wszystko, co tam składają w ofierze, jest nieczyste.
Haggai replied: “So is this people and so is this nation before me, the Lord declares, and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean.
15 Teraz więc, proszę, zastanówcie się, [jak się wam powodziło] od dzisiejszego dnia do minionych [dni], zanim ułożono kamień na kamieniu w świątyni PANA.
Think back from this day, before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord.
16 Dawniej, gdy ktoś przyszedł do stosu zboża z dwudziestu [miar], było [ich] tylko dziesięć; gdy przyszedł do prasy, aby naczerpać pięćdziesiąt wiader [wina], było [ich] tylko dwadzieścia.
How were you? When you came to a heap of grain expecting twenty measures, there were only ten; when you came to the wine vat to draw out fifty vessels, there were only twenty.
17 Karałem was suszą, pleśnią i gradem we wszystkich dziełach waszych rąk; lecz żaden z was nie [wrócił] do mnie, mówi PAN.
‘I struck all the work of your hands with blasting and blight, with mildew and with hail. Yet you didn’t turn to me,’ says the Lord,
18 Zastanówcie się teraz [nad okresem] od dzisiejszego dnia po [dni] minione, od dnia dwudziestego czwartego, dziewiątego [miesiąca, to znaczy] od dnia, w którym położono [fundament] świątyni PANA; zastanówcie się.
‘Think back from this day, think! From the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day when the foundations of the temple of the Lord were laid, and consider.
19 Czy ziarno jeszcze [jest] w spichlerzu? I [owszem] ani winorośl, ani drzewo figowe, granatowe i oliwne nie wydały jeszcze owocu. Od tego dnia będę [wam] błogosławił.
The seed is in the granary, but the vine and the fig tree and the pomegranate and the olive tree have not yet brought forth fruit. From this day will I bless you.’”
20 Potem słowo PANA doszło po raz drugi do Aggeusza dnia dwudziestego czwartego [tego] miesiąca mówiące:
This message from the Lord came to Haggai a second time on the twenty-fourth day of the month:
21 Mów do Zorobabela, namiestnika Judy: Ja wstrząsnę niebiosami i ziemią;
Tell Zerubbabel, governor of Judah: I will shake the heavens and the earth;
22 I przewrócę tron królestw, i zniszczę moc królestw pogan; przewrócę także rydwany i tych, którzy na nich jeżdżą; i upadną konie i ich jeźdźcy, każdy od miecza swego brata.
and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those who ride in them; and the horses and their riders will come down, each by the sword of his fellow.
23 W tym dniu, mówi PAN zastępów, wezmę cię, Zorobabelu, mój sługo, synu Szealtiela, mówi PAN, i uczynię cię niczym sygnet. Ja bowiem wybrałem ciebie, mówi PAN zastępów.
In that day, the Lord of hosts says, I will take you, Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, the Lord says, and will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you, the Lord of hosts says.
