1 Tak więc Izrael wyruszył [w drogę] ze wszystkim, co miał; a gdy przybył do Beer-Szeby, złożył ofiary Bogu swego ojca Izaaka.
And Israel yede forth with alle thingis that he hadde, and he cam to the pit of ooth; and whanne sacrifices weren slayn there to God of his fadir Isaac,
2 Wtedy Bóg powiedział do Izraela w nocnym widzeniu: Jakubie, Jakubie! A on odpowiedział: Oto jestem.
he herde God bi a visioun in that nyyt clepynge hym, `and seiynge to hym, Jacob! Jacob! To whom he answeride, Lo! Y am present.
3 I powiedział: Ja [jestem] Bogiem, Bogiem twego ojca. Nie bój się zejść do Egiptu, bo tam cię rozmnożę w wielki naród.
God seide to hym, Y am the strongeste God of thi fadir; nyle thou drede, go doun in to Egipt, for Y schal make thee there in to a greet folk;
4 Pójdę z tobą do Egiptu i wyprowadzę cię stamtąd [z powrotem], a Józef położy swoją rękę na twoje oczy.
Y schal go doun thidir with thee, and Y schal brynge thee turnynge ayen fro thennus, and Joseph schal sette his hond on thin iyen.
5 I Jakub wyruszył z Beer-Szeby. I synowie Izraela wzięli swego ojca Jakuba, swoje dzieci i swe żony na wozy, które faraon posłał, aby go przywieziono.

8 A to [są] imiona synów Izraela, którzy weszli do Egiptu – Jakub i jego synowie: pierworodny Jakuba, Ruben.

9 Synowie Rubena: Henoch, Pallu, Chesron i Karmi.
the sones of Ruben, Enoch, and Fallu, and Esrom, and Carmi.
10 Synowie Symeona: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Sochar i Szaul, syn [kobiety] Kananejki.
The sones of Symeon, Jemuhel, and Jamyn, and Ahoth, and Jachyn, and Sab, and Saber, and Saul, the sone of a womman of Canaan.
11 Synowie Lewiego: Gerszon, Kehat i Merari.
The sones of Leuy, Gerson, Caath, and Merarie.
12 Synowie Judy: Er, Onan, Szela, Peres i Zerach. Lecz Er i Onan umarli w ziemi Kanaan. A synami Peresa byli: Chesron i Chamul.
The sones of Juda, Her and Onam, and Sela, and Fares, and Zara. Forsothe Her and Onam dieden in the lond of Canaan; and the sones of Fares weren borun, Esrom, and Amul.
13 Synowie Issachara: Tola, Puwwa, Job i Szimron.
The sones of Isacar, Thola, and Fua, and Jobab, and Semron.
14 Synowie Zebulona: Sered, Elon i Jachleel.
The sones of Zabulon, Sared, and Thelom, and Jahel.
15 A to są synowie Lei, których – jak i córkę Dinę, urodziła Jakubowi w Paddan-Aram. Wszystkich dusz jego synów i córek było trzydzieści trzy.

16 Synowie Gada: Sifion, Chaggi, Szuni, Esbon, Eri, Arodi i Areli.
The sones of Gad, Sefion, and Aggi, Suny, and Hesebon, Heri, and Arodi, and Areli.
17 Synowie Aszera: Jimna, Jiszwa, Jiszwi, Beria i siostra ich Serach. A synowie Berii: Cheber i Malkiel.

21 Synowie Beniamina: Bela, Beker, Aszbel, Gera, Naaman, Echi, Rosz, Muppim, Chuppim i Ard.
The sones of Beniamin weren Bela, and Becor, and Asbel, Gera, and Naaman, and Jechi, `Ros, and Mofym, and Ofym, and Ared.
22 To [są] synowie Racheli, którzy się urodzili Jakubowi. Wszystkich dusz – czternaście.

23 Synowie Dana: Chuszim.
The sone of Dan, Vsym.
24 Synowie Neftalego: Jachseel, Guni, Jeser i Szillem.
The sones of Neptalym, Jasiel, and Guny, and Jeser, and Salem.
25 To [są] synowie Bilhy, którą Laban dał swej córce Racheli, i których urodziła Jakubowi. Wszystkich dusz – siedem.
These weren `the sones of Bala, whom Laban yaf to Rachel his douytir.
26 Wszystkich, którzy przyszli z Jakubem do Egiptu, pochodzących z jego lędźwi, oprócz żon synów Jakuba, wszystkich dusz było sześćdziesiąt sześć.
And Jacob gendride these; alle the soules weren seuene. And alle the men that entriden with Jacob in to Egipt, and yeden out of his thiy, with out `the wyues of his sones, weren sixti and sixe.

28 I [Jakub] posłał przed sobą Judę do Józefa, aby go uprzedził, zanim przybędzie do Goszen. I przybyli do ziemi Goszen.

29 I Józef zaprzągł swój wóz, i wyjechał naprzeciw swemu ojcu Izraelowi do Goszen. A gdy go zobaczył, rzucił mu się na szyję i długo płakał na jego szyi.
And whanne Jacob hadde come thidir, Joseph stiede in his chare to mete his fadir at the same place. And he siy Jacob, and felde on `his necke, and wepte bitwixe collyngis.
30 Wtedy Izrael powiedział do Józefa: Mogę już umrzeć, skoro ujrzałem twoją twarz, że jeszcze żyjesz.

32 A [ci] mężczyźni [są] pasterzami, bo zajmowali się hodowlą bydła. Przyprowadzili więc swoje owce i woły, i wszystko, co mieli.
and thei ben men kepers of scheep, and han bisynesse of flockis to be fed; thei brouyten with hem her scheep and grete beestis, and alle thingis whiche thei miyten haue.
33 A gdy wezwie was faraon i zapyta: Czym się zajmujecie?
And whanne Farao schal clepe you, and schal seie, What is youre werk?
34 Odpowiecie: Twoi słudzy od swego dzieciństwa aż do dziś są pasterzami, my i nasi ojcowie. [W ten sposób] będziecie mogli mieszkać w ziemi Goszen, bo Egipcjanie brzydzą się każdym pasterzem.
ye schulen answere, We ben thi seruauntis, men scheepherdis, fro oure childhed til in to present tyme, bothe we and oure fadris. Sotheli ye schulen seye these thingis, that ye moun dwelle in the lond of Gessen, for Egipcians wlaten alle keperis of scheep.
