1 Gdy Rachela widziała, że nie rodzi dzieci Jakubowi, zazdrościła swej siostrze i powiedziała do Jakuba: Daj mi dzieci, bo inaczej umrę.

2 Jakub rozgniewał się na Rachelę i powiedział: Czy ja jestem Bogiem, który odmówił ci owocu twego łona?
Than was Iacob wrooth with Rahel saynge: Am I in godes steade which kepeth fro the the frute of thi wobe?
3 A [ona] odpowiedziała: Oto moja służąca Bilha. Obcuj z nią i urodzi na moich kolanach, i będę miała z niej dzieci.

4 Dała mu więc swoją służącą Bilhę za żonę, a Jakub z nią obcował.
And she gaue him Bilha hir hadmayde to wife. And Iacob wet in vnto her
5 Bilha poczęła i urodziła Jakubowi syna.
And Bilha conceaued and bare Iacob a sonne.
6 I Rachela powiedziała: Bóg mnie osądził i usłyszał mój głos, i dał mi syna. Dlatego nadała mu imię Dan.
Than sayde Rahel. God hath geuen sentece on my syde and hath also herde my voyce and hath geuen me a sonne. Therfore called she him Dan.
7 Potem Bilha, służąca Racheli, znowu poczęła i urodziła Jakubowi drugiego syna.

12 Potem Zilpa, służąca Lei, urodziła Jakubowi drugiego syna.
And Silpha Leas mayde bare Iacob another sonne.
13 I Lea powiedziała: To na moje szczęście, bo kobiety będą mnie nazywać szczęśliwą. I nadała mu imię Aszer.

14 A w czasie żniwa pszenicznego Ruben wyszedł i znalazł na polu mandragory, i przyniósł je do swojej matki Lei. Wtedy Rachela powiedziała do Lei: Daj mi, proszę, z mandragor twego syna.

16 A gdy Jakub wracał wieczorem z pola, Lea wyszła mu naprzeciw i powiedziała: Masz do mnie przyjść, bo nabyłam cię za mandragory mego syna. I spał z nią tej nocy.

17 A Bóg wysłuchał Leę i poczęła, i urodziła Jakubowi piątego syna.
And God herde Lea yt she coceaued and bare vnto Iacob yt. v. sonne.
18 I Lea powiedziała: Bóg [mi] oddał moją zapłatę za to, że dałam moją służącą swemu mężowi. I nadała mu imię Issachar.
Than sayde Lea. God hath geue me my rewarde because I gaue my mayde to my housbod and she called him Isachar.
19 Potem Lea znowu poczęła i urodziła Jakubowi szóstego syna.
And Lea coceaued yet agayne and bare Iacob the sexte sonne.
20 I Lea mówiła: Bóg obdarzył mnie wspaniałym darem. Teraz mój mąż będzie ze mną mieszkał, bo urodziłam mu sześciu synów. I nadała mu imię Zebulon.
Than sayde she: God hath endewed me with a good dowry. Now will my housbond dwell with me because I haue borne him. vi. sonnes: and called his name Zabulo.
21 Potem urodziła córkę i nadała jej imię Dina.
After that she bare a doughter and called her Dina.
22 Bóg wspomniał też na Rachelę i wysłuchał ją Bóg, i otworzył jej łono.
And God remebred Rahel herde her and made her frutefull:
23 Poczęła więc i urodziła syna, i powiedziała: Bóg zabrał moją hańbę.
so that she coceaued and bare a sonne and sayde God hath take awaye my rebuke.
24 Nadała mu imię Józef i powiedziała: Niech PAN da mi drugiego syna.
And she called his name Ioseph saynge The lorde geue me yet a nother sonne.
25 Gdy Rachela urodziła Józefa, Jakub powiedział do Labana: Puść mnie, abym wrócił do mego miejsca i do mojej ziemi.
As soone as Rahel had borne Ioseph Iacob sayde to Laban: Sede me awaye yt I maye goo vnto myne awne place and cutre
26 Daj mi moje żony i moje dzieci, za które ci służyłem, abym mógł iść. Wiesz przecież, jak ci służyłem.

29 Wtedy [Jakub] mu odpowiedział: Ty wiesz, jak ci służyłem i jaki stał się przy mnie twój dobytek.
But he sayde vnto hym thou knowest what seruyce I haue done ye and in what takynge thy catell haue bene vnder me:
30 Miałeś bowiem niewiele przed moim przyjściem, a bardzo się to pomnożyło i PAN błogosławił ci, odkąd tu jestem. Kiedy jednak mam się starać o swój dom?
for it was but litle that thou haddest before I came and now it is encreased in to a multitude and the LORDE hath blessed the for my sake. But now when shall I make provysion for myne awne house also?
31 I [Laban] zapytał: Cóż mam ci dać? Jakub odpowiedział: Nic mi nie dasz. Ale jeśli zrobisz to, [co ci powiem], wtedy wrócę i będę pasł twoje stado, i strzegł go.
And he sayde: what shall I geue the? And Iacob answerd: thou shalt geue me nothinge at all yf thou wilt do this one thinge for me: And then will I turne agayne and fede thy shepe and kepe them.
32 Obejdę dziś wszystkie twoje stada i odłączę z nich każde bydło pstre i nakrapiane i każde bydło ciemne wśród owiec, a nakrapiane i pstre wśród kóz. To będzie moja zapłata.
I will go aboute all thy shepe this daye and separate fro the all the shepe that are spotted and of dyverse coloures and all blacke shepe amonge the lambes and the partie and spotted amonge the kyddes: And then such shalbe my rewarde.
33 Potem moja sprawiedliwość da świadectwo o mnie, gdy przyjdzie czas, abyś mi zapłacił. Wszystko, co nie będzie pstre i nakrapiane wśród kóz, a ciemne wśród owiec, niech będzie mi [poczytane] za kradzież.
So shall my rightwesnes answere for me: when the tyme commeth that I shall receaue my rewarde of the: So that what soeuer is not speckeld and partie amonge the gootes and blacke amonge the lambes let that be theft with me.
34 Laban powiedział: Niech się stanie według twego słowa.
Than sayde Laban: loo I am contete that it be acordinge as thou hast sayde.

And he toke out that same daye the he gootes that were partie and of dyuerse coloures and all the she gootes that were spotted and partie coloured and all that had whyte in the and all the blacke amonge the lambes: ad put the in the kepinge of his sonnes
36 I [Laban] odłączył się od Jakuba na odległość trzech dni drogi. A Jakub pasł resztę stada Labana.
and sett thre dayes ourney ibetwixte hiselfe and Iacob. And so Iacob kepte ye rest of Labas shepe.
37 Wtedy Jakub nabrał zielonych prętów topolowych, laskowych i kasztanowych i [miejscami] poobdzierał je z kory do białego, obnażając białość, która [była] na prętach.
Iacob toke roddes of grene popular hasell and of chestnottrees and pilled whyte strakes in the and made the white apere in the staues:

40 I Jakub odłączył jagnięta, a owce stawiał przodem do [jagniąt] prążkowanych i do wszystkich ciemnych w stadzie Labana, a swoje stada stawiał osobno i nie łączył ich ze stadem Labana.
The Iacob parted the labes and turned the faces of the shepe toward spotted thinges and toward all maner of blacke thinges thorow out the flockes of Laba. And he made him flockes of his owne by the selfe which he put not vnto the flockes of Laba.
41 A gdy silniejsze zwierzęta się parzyły, Jakub kładł pręty w koryta, przed oczy zwierząt, aby parzyły się przed prętami.
And allwaye in the first buckinge tyme of the shepe Iacob put the staues before the shepe in the gutters yt they myghte conceaue before the staues
42 Lecz gdy przychodziły słabsze zwierzęta, nie kładł [ich]. I słabsze były Labana, a silniejsze Jakuba.
But in the latter buckynge tyme he put them not there: so the last brode was Labas and the first Iacobs.
43 I tak wzbogacił się bardzo ten człowiek, i miał wiele stad, a także służące i służących oraz wielbłądy i osły.
And the man became excedynge ryche and had many shepe maydeseruauntes menseruauntes camels and asses.
