Galacjan 2

1 Potem, po czternastu latach, udałem się ponownie do Jerozolimy wraz z Barnabą, wziąwszy ze sobą także Tytusa.

Then, fourteen years after, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and I took Titus also with me.

2 A udałem się [tam] zgodnie z objawieniem i przedstawiłem im ewangelię, którą głoszę wśród pogan, osobno zaś tym, którzy cieszą się uznaniem, aby [się] czasem nie [okazało], że biegnę albo biegłem na próżno.

And I went up because of a revelation, and communicated to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who are of reputation, lest, by any means, I should run or had run in vain.

3 Lecz nawet Tytusa, który był ze mną, nie zmuszono do obrzezania, mimo że był Grekiem;

But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

4 A [to] z powodu wprowadzonych fałszywych braci, którzy się wkradli, aby wyszpiegować naszą wolność, jaką mamy w Chrystusie Jezusie, aby nas zniewolić.

I acted thus indeed on account of false brethren, stealthily brought in, who stole in to spy out our freedom, which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage,

5 Nie ustąpiliśmy im ani na chwilę i nie poddaliśmy się, aby pozostała wśród was prawda ewangelii.

to whom we yielded in submission, not even for an hour, in order that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

6 A co do cieszących się uznaniem – jakimi kiedyś byli, jest dla mnie bez znaczenia, Bóg [bowiem] nie ma względu na osobę – ci więc, którzy cieszą się uznaniem, nic [mi] nie narzucili.

But from those who were supposed to be something; (what they were is a matter of no importance to me: God does not accept the person of man; ) they, indeed, who were supposed to be something, communicated no additional truth to me;

7 Wręcz przeciwnie, gdy widzieli, że została mi powierzona ewangelia [wśród] nieobrzezanych, jak Piotrowi [wśród] obrzezanych;

but; on the other hand, seeing that I was intrusted with the gospel of the uncircumcision, as Peter was with that of the circumcision,

8 (Ten bowiem, który działał skutecznie przez Piotra w [sprawowaniu] apostolstwa [wśród] obrzezanych, skutecznie działał i we mnie wśród pogan);

(for he who gave efficiency to Peter, for the apostleship of the circumcision, gave efficiency to me also, as an apostle for the Gentiles, )

9 I gdy poznali daną mi łaskę, Jakub, Kefas i Jan, którzy są uważani za filary, podali mnie i Barnabie prawicę na [znak] wspólnoty, abyśmy my [poszli] do pogan, a oni do obrzezanych.

and knowing the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles, but they to the circumcision,

10 Bylebyśmy tylko pamiętali o ubogich, co też gorliwie starałem się czynić.

requesting only that we would remember the poor, which same thing I have been diligent in doing.

11 A gdy Piotr przybył do Antiochii, sprzeciwiłem mu się w twarz, bo był godny nagany.

But when Peter came to Antioch, I openly opposed him, because he had incurred blame.

12 Zanim bowiem przyszli niektórzy od Jakuba, jadał razem z poganami. Gdy zaś oni przyszli, odsunął się i odłączył, obawiając się tych, którzy byli z obrzezania.

For, before certain persons came from James, he ate with the Gentiles: but, when they had come, he withdrew, and separated himself, because he feared those who were of the circumcision.

13 A razem z nim obłudnie postępowali i inni Żydzi, tak że i Barnaba dał się wciągnąć w tę ich obłudę.

And the other Jews, also, acted hypocritically with him, so that even Barnabas was led away by their hypocrisy.

14 Lecz gdy zobaczyłem, że nie postępują zgodnie z prawdą ewangelii, powiedziałem Piotrowi wobec wszystkich: Jeśli ty, będąc Żydem, żyjesz po pogańsku, a nie po żydowsku, czemu przymuszasz pogan, aby żyli po żydowsku?

But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter, before them all: If you, being a Jew, live after the manner of the Gentiles, and not after the manner of the Jews, why do you compel the Gen tiles to observe Jewish customs?

15 My, [którzy jesteśmy] Żydami z urodzenia, a nie grzesznikami z pogan;

We, who are Jews by birth, and not Gentile sinners,

16 Wiedząc, że człowiek nie jest usprawiedliwiony z uczynków prawa, ale przez wiarę w Jezusa Chrystusa, i my uwierzyliśmy w Jezusa Chrystusa, abyśmy byli usprawiedliwieni z wiary Chrystusa, a nie z uczynków prawa, dlatego że z uczynków prawa nie będzie usprawiedliwione żadne ciało.

knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed on Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of law: because, by works of law no flesh shall be justified.

17 A jeśli [my], szukając usprawiedliwienia w Chrystusie, sami okazaliśmy się grzesznikami, to czy Chrystus [jest] sługą grzechu? Nie daj Boże!

But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves are also found sinners, is Christ, therefore, the minister of sin? It can not be.

18 Jeśli bowiem na nowo buduję to, co zburzyłem, samego siebie czynię przestępcą.

For if I build again those things which I have destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

19 Bo ja przez prawo umarłem dla prawa, abym żył dla Boga.

For, through law, I have died to law, that I might live to God.

20 Z Chrystusem jestem ukrzyżowany: żyję, ale już nie ja, lecz żyje we mnie Chrystus. A to, że teraz żyję w ciele, żyję w wierze Syna Bożego, który mnie umiłował i wydał za mnie samego siebie.

I have been crucified with Christ, yet I live; no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

21 Nie odrzucam łaski Boga. Jeśli bowiem przez prawo jest sprawiedliwość, to Chrystus umarł na próżno.

I do not set aside the grace of God: for if righteousness be through law, then Christ has died in vain.
