Daniela 6
1 Dariuszowi spodobało się ustanowić nad królestwem stu dwudziestu satrapów, którzy byliby po całym królestwie;
It pleased Darius to set ouer the kingdome an hundreth and twentie gouernours, which should be ouer the whole kingdome,
2 A nad nimi trzech zwierzchników, z których Daniel był pierwszym. Im zdawali sprawozdanie satrapowie, aby król nie doznał żadnej szkody.
And ouer these, three rulers (of whome Daniel was one) that the gouernours might giue accompts vnto them, and the King should haue no domage.
3 A sam Daniel przewyższał tych książąt i satrapów, ponieważ był w nim nadzwyczajny duch, i król zamierzał ustanowić go nad całym królestwem.
Now this Daniel was preferred aboue the rulers and gouernours, because the spirit was excellent in him, and the King thought to set him ouer the whole realme.
4 Wtedy zwierzchnicy i satrapowie usiłowali znaleźć przeciwko Danielowi powód [oskarżenia] dotyczący królestwa; nie mogli jednak znaleźć żadnego pretekstu ani wady, ponieważ był on wierny i żadnej winy ani wady nie można było w nim znaleźć.
Wherefore the rulers and gouernours sought an occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdome: but they could finde none occasion nor fault: for he was so faithfull that there was no blame nor fault found in him.
5 Dlatego ci mężczyźni powiedzieli: Nie znajdziemy przeciwko temu Danielowi żadnego powodu [do oskarżenia], chyba że znajdziemy coś przeciwko niemu w prawie jego Boga.
Then sayd these men, We shall not finde an occasion against this Daniel, except we finde it against him concerning the Law of his God.
6 Wtedy ci zwierzchnicy i satrapowie zgromadzili się przy królu i tak mu powiedzieli: Królu Dariuszu, żyj na wieki!
Therefore the rulers and these gouernours went together to the King, and sayde thus vnto him, King Darius, liue for euer.
7 Wszyscy zwierzchnicy królestwa, przełożeni i satrapowie, urzędnicy i dowódcy uzgodnili, aby ustanowić dekret królewski i zatwierdzić prawo, że ktokolwiek w ciągu trzydziestu dni poprosi o cokolwiek któregokolwiek boga lub człowieka prócz ciebie, królu, zostanie wrzucony do lwiej jamy.
All the rulers of thy kingdome, the officers and gouernours, the counsellers, and dukes haue consulted together to make a decree for the King and to establish a statute, that whosoeuer shall aske a petition of any god or man for thirtie dayes saue of thee, O King, he shalbe cast into the denne of lyons.
8 I tak teraz, królu, zatwierdź to prawo i podaj je na piśmie, aby było nieodwołalne według prawa Medów i Persów, które nie może być cofnięte.
Nowe, O King, confirme the decree, and seale the writing, that it be not changed according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
9 Król Dariusz ogłosił więc na piśmie to prawo.
Wherefore King Darius sealed the writing and the decree.
10 A gdy Daniel dowiedział się, że zostało podane na piśmie, wszedł do swego domu; a otwierając okna w swoim pokoju w stronę Jerozolimy, trzy razy dziennie klękał na kolanach, modlił się i chwalił swego Boga, jak to czynił przedtem.
Now when Daniel vnderstood that he had sealed the writing, hee went into his house, and his window being open in his chamber toward Ierusalem, he kneeled vpon his knees three times a day, and prayed and praysed his God, as he did aforetime.
11 Wtedy ci mężczyźni zgromadzili się i kiedy znaleźli Daniela modlącego się i błagającego swego Boga;
Then these men assembled, and founde Daniel praying, and making supplication vnto his God.
12 Przyszli i powiedzieli królowi o dekrecie królewskim: Czy nie wydałeś dekretu, że każdy człowiek, który w ciągu trzydziestu dni poprosi o cokolwiek któregokolwiek boga lub człowieka prócz ciebie, królu, zostanie wrzucony do lwiej jamy? Król odpowiedział: Prawdziwa to jest mowa, zgodnie z prawem Medów i Persów, które nie może być cofnięte.
So they came and, spake vnto the King concerning the Kings decree, Hast thou not sealed the decree, that euery man that shall make a request to any god or man within thirtie dayes, saue to thee, O King, shall be cast into the denne of lyons? The King answered, and sayd, The thing is true, according to the Lawe of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
13 Wtedy odezwali się i powiedzieli do króla: Ten Daniel, który jest z uprowadzonych synów Judy, nie liczy się z tobą, królu, ani z twoim dekretem, który wydałeś, bo trzy razy dziennie odmawia swoją modlitwę.
Then answered they, and sayd vnto the King, This Daniel which is of the children of the captiuitie of Iudah, regardeth not thee, O King, nor the decree, that thou hast sealed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
14 Gdy król usłyszał te słowa, bardzo się zasmucił z tego powodu i postanowił wybawić Daniela; aż do zachodu słońca usiłował go uratować.
When the King heard these wordes, hee was sore displeased with himselfe, and set his heart on Daniel, to deliuer him: and he laboured till the sunne went downe, to deliuer him.
15 Ale ci mężczyźni zgromadzili się przy królu i powiedzieli do niego: Wiedz, królu, że prawo u Medów i Persów jest takie, że żadne prawo ani [żaden] dekret, który król ustanowił, nie może być zmieniony.
Then these men assembled vnto the King, and sayde vnto ye King, Vnderstand, O King, that the lawe of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree nor statute which the King confirmeth, may be altered.
16 Wtedy król rozkazał, aby przyprowadzono Daniela i wrzucono go do lwiej jamy. A król powiedział do Daniela: Twój Bóg, któremu nieustannie służysz, on wybawi cię.
Then the King commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the denne of lyons: now the King spake, and said vnto Daniel, Thy God, whome thou alway seruest, euen he will deliuer thee.
17 I przyniesiono kamień, i położono [go] na otworze jamy, a król opieczętował go swoim sygnetem i sygnetami swoich książąt, aby dekret [wydany] przeciwko Danielowi nie był zmieniony.
And a stone was brought, and layed vpon the mouth of the denne, and the King sealed it with his owne signet, and with the signet of his princes, that the purpose might not be changed, concerning Daniel.
18 Następnie król poszedł do swego pałacu i pościł przez całą noc. Nie dopuścił do siebie niczego, co mogłoby go weselić, i sen odszedł od niego.
Then the King went vnto his palace, and remained fasting, neither were the instruments of musike brought before him, and his sleepe went from him.
19 Potem król wstał bardzo wcześnie, o świcie, i spiesznie poszedł do lwiej jamy.
Then the King arose early in the morning, and went in all haste vnto the denne of lyons.
20 A gdy się zbliżył do jamy, zawołał [do] Daniela żałosnym głosem. Król zapytał Daniela: Danielu, sługo Boga żywego, czy twój Bóg, któremu nieustannie służysz, mógł cię wybawić od lwów?
And when he came to the denne, he cryed with a lamentable voyce vnto Daniel: and the King spake, and saide to Daniel, O Daniel, the seruant of ye liuing God, is not thy God (whom thou alway seruest) able to deliuer thee from the lyons?
21 Wtedy Daniel odpowiedział królowi: Królu, żyj na wieki!
Then saide Daniel vnto the King, O King, liue for euer.
22 Mój Bóg posłał swego Anioła, który zamknął paszcze lwom, aby mi nie wyrządziły żadnej szkody, dlatego że przed nim znalazła się we mnie niewinność. Owszem, również przed tobą, królu, nic złego nie uczyniłem.
My God hath sent his Angel and hath shut the lyons mouthes, that they haue not hurt mee: for my iustice was founde out before him: and vnto thee, O King, I haue done no hurt.
23 Wtedy król bardzo się ucieszył z tego i rozkazał wyciągnąć Daniela z jamy. I wyciągnięto Daniela z jamy i nie znaleziono na nim żadnej rany, bo wierzył w swojego Boga.
Then was the King exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel out of the denne: so Daniel was brought out of the denne, and no maner of hurt was found vpon him, because he beleeued in his God.
24 I król rozkazał przyprowadzić tych mężczyzn, którzy oskarżyli Daniela, i wrzucono ich do lwiej jamy, ich samych, ich synów i ich żony. A zanim wpadli na dno jamy, lwy ich pochwyciły i zmiażdżyły wszystkie ich kości.
And by the commandement of the King these me which had accused Daniel, were brought, and were cast into the denne of lions, euen they, their children, and their wiues: and the lyons had the mastry of them, and brake all their bones a pieces, or euer they came at the groud of the denne.
25 Wtedy król Dariusz napisał do wszystkich ludzi, narodów i języków, którzy mieszkali po całej ziemi: Niech pokój wam się rozmnoży!
Afterwarde King Darius wrote, Vnto all people, nations and languages, that dwel in all the world: Peace be multiplied vnto you.
26 Wydaję dekret, aby w całym państwie mego królestwa [wszyscy] drżeli i bali się Boga Daniela, bo on jest Bogiem żywym i trwa na wieki, a jego królestwo nie będzie zniszczone i jego władza będzie [trwać] do końca.
I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdome, men tremble and feare before the God of Daniel: for he is the liuing God, and remayneth for euer: and his kingdome shall not perish, and his dominion shalbe euerlasting.
27 On wyrywa i wybawia, czyni znaki i cuda na niebie i na ziemi; on wyrwał Daniela z mocy lwów.
Hee rescueth and deliuereth, and hee worketh signes and wonders in heauen and in earth, who hath deliuered Daniel from the power of the lyons.
28 A Danielowi dobrze się powodziło w królestwie Dariusza i w królestwie Cyrusa Persa.
So this Daniel prospered in the reigne of Darius and in the reigne of Cyrus of Persia.
