II Królewska 9
1 A prorok Elizeusz zawołał jednego z synów proroków i powiedział mu: Przepasz swoje biodra, weź do ręki ten dzban z oliwą i idź do Ramot-Gilead.
Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, “Dress for travel, then take this little bottle of oil in your hand and go to Ramoth Gilead.
2 A gdy tam przybędziesz, zobaczysz tam Jehu, syna Jehoszafata, syna Nimsziego. Wejdź [tam], spraw, by powstał spośród swych braci i wprowadź go do najskrytszej komnaty.
When you arrive, look for Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi, and go in and make him arise up from among his companions, and conduct him to an inner chamber.
3 Następnie weź dzban oliwy, wylej na jego głowę i powiedz: Tak mówi PAN: Namaściłem cię na króla nad Izraelem. Potem otwórz drzwi i uciekaj, nie zwlekaj.
Then take the bottle of oil and pour it on his head and say, 'Yahweh says this: “I have anointed you king over Israel.”' Then open the door, and run off; do not delay.”
4 Poszedł więc ten młodzieniec – młody prorok – do Ramot-Gilead.
So the young man, the young prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
5 A gdy przybył, oto dowódcy wojska siedzieli. A on powiedział: Wodzu! Mam do ciebie słowo. Jehu zapytał: Do którego z nas wszystkich? I odpowiedział: Do ciebie, wodzu!
When he arrived, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. So the young prophet said, “I have come on an errand to you, captain.” Jehu replied, “To which of us?” The young prophet answered, “To you, captain.”
6 Wtedy wstał i wszedł do domu, a tamten wylał oliwę na jego głowę i powiedział mu: Tak mówi PAN, Bóg Izraela: Namaściłem cię na króla nad ludem PANA, nad Izraelem.
So Jehu arose and went into the house, and the prophet poured the oil on his head and said to Jehu, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, says this: 'I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, over Israel.
7 Wytracisz dom Achaba, swego pana, ja bowiem pomszczę krew swoich sług, proroków i krew wszystkich sług PANA z ręki Jezabel.
You must kill the family of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, who were murdered by the hand of Jezebel.
8 I tak zginie cały dom Achaba. Wytępię [z domu] Achaba każdego, aż do najmniejszego szczenięcia, każdego więźnia i opuszczonego w Izraelu.
For the whole family of Ahab will perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male child, whether he is a slave or a free person.
9 I uczynię z domem Achaba jak z domem Jeroboama, syna Nebata, i jak z domem Baszy, syna Achiasza.
I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah.
10 Psy zjedzą Jezabel na polu Jizreel i nie będzie nikogo, kto ją pogrzebie. Potem otworzył drzwi i uciekł.
The dogs will eat Jezebel in Jezreel, and there will be no one to bury her.'” Then the prophet opened the door and ran off.
11 A gdy Jehu wyszedł do sług swego pana, jeden z nich zapytał go: Czy wszystko dobrze? Po co ten szaleniec przyszedł do ciebie? Odpowiedział im: Wy znacie tego człowieka i jego słowa.
Then Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, “Is everything alright? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” Jehu answered them, “You know the man and the kinds of things he says.”
12 Oni powiedzieli: To nieprawda. Powiedz, proszę. A on powiedział: Tak a tak przemówił do mnie: Tak mówi PAN: Namaściłem cię na króla nad Izraelem.
They said, “That is a lie. Tell us.” Jehu answered, “He said this and that to me, and he also said, 'This is what Yahweh says: I have anointed you as king over Israel.'”
13 Wtedy wszyscy pospiesznie wzięli swoje szaty, podłożyli je pod niego na najwyższym stopniu, zadęli w trąbę i zawołali: Jehu jest królem!
Then each of them quickly took off his outer garment and put it under Jehu at the top of the steps. They blew the trumpet and said, “Jehu is king.”
14 Wtedy Jehu, syn Jehoszafata, syna Nimsziego, uknuł spisek przeciw Joramowi. (A w tym czasie Joram wraz z całym Izraelem strzegł Ramot-Gilead przed Chazaelem, królem Syrii.
In this way Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram had been defending Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Aram,
15 Lecz król Joram wrócił, by leczyć się w Jizreel z ran, które mu zadali Syryjczycy, gdy walczył z Chazaelem, królem Syrii). Jehu powiedział: Jeśli się na to zgadzacie, niech nikt nie wychodzi z miasta, aby pójść i oznajmić to w Jizreel.
but King Joram had gone back to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds that the Arameans had given him, when he had fought against Hazael king of Aram. Jehu said to the servants of Joram, “If this is your opinion, then let no one escape and go out of the city, in order to go tell this news in Jezreel.”
16 Następnie Jehu wsiadł na rydwan i pojechał do Jizreel, bo tam leżał Joram. Także Achazjasz, król Judy, przyjechał, aby odwiedzić Jorama.
So Jehu rode in a chariot to Jezreel; for Joram was resting there. Now Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
17 A gdy strażnik, który stał na wieży w Jizreel, zobaczył nadjeżdżający oddział Jehu, powiedział: Widzę oddział. Joram rzekł: Weź jeźdźca i wyślij [go] naprzeciw [nich], niech zapyta: Czy jest pokój?
The watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came at a distance; he said, “I see a group of men coming.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send him out to meet them; tell him to say, 'Are you coming in peace?'”
18 Jeździec więc wyruszył mu naprzeciw i zapytał: Tak mówi król: Czy jest pokój? Jehu odpowiedział: Co tobie do pokoju? Zawróć i [jedź] za mną. Strażnik oznajmił: Posłaniec dotarł do nich, ale nie wraca.
So a man was sent on horseback to meet him; he said, “The king says this: 'Are coming in peace?'” So Jehu said, “What have you to do with peace? Turn and ride behind me.” Then the watchman told the king, “The messenger has met them, but he is not coming back.”
19 Wysłał więc drugiego jeźdźca, który przybył do nich i powiedział: Tak mówi król: Czy jest pokój? Jehu odpowiedział: Co tobie do pokoju? Zawróć i jedź za mną.
Then he sent out a second man on horseback, who came to them and said, “The king says this: 'Are you coming in peace?'” Jehu answered, “What have you to do with peace? Turn and ride behind me.”
20 Strażnik znowu oznajmił: Dotarł do nich, ale nie wraca. A jego jazda jest jak jazda Jehu, syna Nimsziego, bo jedzie jak szalony.
Again the watchman reported, “He has met them, but he is not coming back. For the way that the chariot is being driven is the way that Jehu son of Nimshi drives; he is driving wildly.”
21 Wtedy Joram powiedział: Zaprzęgaj. Zaprzężono więc jego rydwan. I Joram, król Izraela, i Achazjasz, król Judy, wyjechali, każdy na swoim rydwanie. Wyjechali naprzeciw Jehu i spotkali go na polu Nabota Jizreelity.
So Joram said, “Get my chariot ready.” They prepared his chariot, and Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah rode out, each in his chariot, to meet Jehu. They found him at the property of Naboth the Jezreelite.
22 A gdy Joram zobaczył Jehu, zapytał: Czy jest pokój, Jehu? Odpowiedział: Co to za pokój, dopóki [trwają] cudzołóstwa Jezabel, twojej matki, i jej liczne czary.
When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Are you coming in peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace is there, when the idolatrous acts of prostitution and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel are so many?”
23 Wtedy Joram zawrócił i uciekł, mówiąc do Achazjasza: Zdrada, Achazjaszu!
So Joram turned his chariot and fled and said to Ahaziah, “There is treachery, Ahaziah.”
24 A Jehu wziął do rąk łuk i trafił Jorama między ramiona tak, że strzała przeszyła jego serce, a on padł na swój rydwan.
Then Jehu drew his bow with his full strength and shot Joram between his shoulders; the arrow went through his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.
25 Potem [Jehu] odezwał się do Bidkara, swego dowódcy: Weź go i porzuć na polu Nabota Jizreelity. Pamiętasz bowiem: gdy ja i ty jechaliśmy razem za Achabem, jego ojcem, PAN wydał przeciwko niemu ten wyrok:
Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up and throw him in the field of Naboth the Jezreelite. Think about how when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh placed this prophecy against him:
26 Z pewnością widziałem wczoraj krew Nabota i krew jego synów – mówi PAN. I zemszczę się na tobie na tym polu – mówi PAN. Teraz więc weź go i porzuć na polu według słowa PANA.
'Yesterday I saw the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons—declares Yahweh—and I will surely make you pay for it on this field—declares Yahweh. Now then, pick him up and throw him on this field, according to the word of Yahweh.”
27 Gdy zobaczył to Achazjasz, król Judy, zaczął uciekać drogą do domu ogrodowego. Lecz Jehu ścigał go i polecił: Tego także zabijcie na jego rydwanie. I [zranili go] na wzniesieniu Gur, które jest przy Jibleam. Uciekł do Megiddo i tam umarł.
When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled up the road to Beth Haggan. But Jehu followed him, and said, “Kill him also in the chariot,” and they shot him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. Ahaziah fled to Megiddo and died there.
28 Jego słudzy przewieźli go do Jerozolimy i pogrzebali w jego grobie z jego ojcami w mieście Dawida.
His servants carried his body in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
29 W jedenastym roku Jorama, syna Achaba, Achazjasz zaczął królować nad Judą.
Now it was in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab that Ahaziah had begun to reign over Judah.
30 Potem Jehu przybył do Jizreel. Gdy Jezabel usłyszała o tym, pomalowała swoją twarz, upiększyła włosy i wyglądała przez okno.
When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her eyes, arranged her hair, and looked out the window.
31 A gdy Jehu wjeżdżał przez bramę, zapytała: Czy miał pokój Zimri, który zabił swego pana?
As Jehu was entering the gate, she said to him, “Are you coming in peace, you Zimri, your master's murderer?”
32 On zaś podniósł twarz ku oknu i zawołał: Kto [jest] ze mną? Kto? Wtedy wyjrzeli ku niemu dwaj [albo] trzej eunuchowie.
Jehu looked up at the window and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Then two or three eunuchs looked out.
33 Powiedział im: Zrzućcie ją. Wtedy zrzucili ją. Jej krew obryzgała mur i konie, a on podeptał ją.
So Jehu said, “Throw her down.” So they threw Jezebel down, and some of her blood spattered on the wall and the horses, and Jehu trampled her underfoot.
34 A gdy [tam] wszedł, najadł się i napił, potem powiedział: Zajmijcie się teraz tą przeklętą i pogrzebcie ją. Jest bowiem córką króla.
When Jehu entered the palace, he ate and drank. Then he said, “See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter.”
35 Poszli, aby ją pogrzebać, lecz nie znaleźli z niej nic poza czaszką, stopami i dłońmi.
They went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull, the feet, and the palms of her hands.
36 Wrócili więc i oznajmili mu to. On zaś powiedział: [Wypełniło się] słowo PANA, które wypowiedział przez swego sługę Eliasza Tiszbitę: Na polu Jizreel psy zjedzą ciało Jezabel.
So they came back and told Jehu. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 'In the land at Jezreel the dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel,
37 A trup Jezabel będzie jak gnój leżący na powierzchni roli, na polu Jizreel, tak że nikt nie powie: To jest Jezabel.
and the body of Jezebel will be like dung on the surface of the fields in the land at Jezreel, so that no one will be able to say, “This is Jezebel.”'”
