II Koryntian 1
1 Paweł, z woli Boga apostoł Jezusa Chrystusa, i Tymoteusz, brat, do kościoła Bożego, który jest w Koryncie, ze wszystkimi świętymi, którzy są w całej Achai.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
2 Łaska wam i pokój od Boga, naszego Ojca, i Pana Jezusa Chrystusa.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Błogosławiony [niech będzie] Bóg i Ojciec naszego Pana Jezusa Chrystusa, Ojciec miłosierdzia i Bóg wszelkiej pociechy;
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
4 Który nas pociesza w każdym naszym utrapieniu, abyśmy i my mogli pocieszać tych, którzy są w jakimkolwiek ucisku, taką pociechą, jaką sami jesteśmy pocieszani przez Boga.
who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5 Jak bowiem w nas obfitują utrapienia Chrystusa, tak też przez Chrystusa obfituje nasza pociecha.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.
6 Jeśli więc doznajemy ucisku – [to] dla waszego pocieszenia i zbawienia, które sprawia, że znosicie te same utrapienia, które i my cierpimy; i jeśli doznajemy pociechy – [to] dla waszego pocieszenia i zbawienia.
But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.
7 A nasza nadzieja co do was [jest] mocna, bo wiemy, że jak jesteście uczestnikami utrapienia, tak i pociechy.
Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so also are you of the comfort.
8 Nie chcemy bowiem, bracia, abyście nie wiedzieli o ucisku, który nas spotkał w Azji, że byliśmy obciążeni ponad miarę [i] ponad siły, tak że zaczęliśmy wątpić, czy przeżyjemy.
For we do not desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.
9 Więcej, sami w sobie mieliśmy wyrok śmierci, abyśmy nie ufali samym sobie, lecz Bogu, który wskrzesza umarłych.
Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,
10 On to wyrwał nas z tak wielkiej śmierci i [jeszcze] wyrywa. W nim [też] mamy nadzieję, że nadal będzie wyrywać;
who delivered us out of so great a death, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will also deliver us again;
11 Także przy waszej pomocy poprzez modlitwę za nas, aby dar, który [otrzymaliśmy] dzięki wielu, stał się dla wielu powodem dziękczynienia za nas.
you also helping together on our behalf by your petition; that, for the gift bestowed on us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf.
12 To bowiem jest naszą chlubą: świadectwo naszego sumienia, że w prostocie i w szczerości Bożej, nie w cielesnej mądrości, ale w łasce Boga postępowaliśmy na świecie, a szczególnie względem was.
For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.
13 Nie piszemy wam [nic] innego, jak tylko to, co czytacie albo rozumiecie. Spodziewam się zaś, że też do końca zrozumiecie;
For we write no other things to you, than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will fully acknowledge;
14 Jak już po części nas zrozumieliście, że jesteśmy waszą chlubą, jak i wy naszą w dniu Pana Jezusa.
as also you acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.
15 Z tą ufnością chciałem przybyć do was wcześniej, abyście otrzymali powtórne dobrodziejstwo;
In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit;
16 A od was udać się do Macedonii, a z Macedonii znowu przybyć do was i zostać przez was wyprawionym do Judei.
and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

When I therefore was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the "Yes, yes" and the "No, no?"

But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not "Yes and no."

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not "Yes and no," but in him is "Yes."
20 Ile jest bowiem obietnic Boga, w nim [są] „tak” i w nim [są] „Amen”, ku chwale Boga przez nas.
For however many are the promises of God, in him they are "Yes." Therefore also through him they are "Amen," to the glory of God through us.
21 Tym zaś, który utwierdza nas [razem] z wami w Chrystusie i który nas namaścił, [jest] Bóg;
Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;
22 Który też zapieczętował nas i dał do naszych serc Ducha [jako] zadatek.
who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.
23 A ja wzywam Boga na świadka mojej duszy, że aby was oszczędzić, nie przybyłem dotąd do Koryntu.
But I call God as a witness to my soul, that to spare you I did not come again to Corinth.
24 Nie dlatego, że panujemy nad waszą wiarą, ale jesteśmy pomocnikami waszej radości; wiarą bowiem stoicie.
Not that we rule over your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.
