I Tymoteusza 1
1 Paweł, apostoł Jezusa Chrystusa według nakazu Boga, naszego Zbawiciela, i Pana Jezusa Chrystusa, który jest naszą nadzieją;
Pavl an Apostle of Iesvs Christ, by the commandement of God our Sauiour, and of our Lord Iesus Christ our hope,
2 Do Tymoteusza, [mego] własnego syna w wierze. Łaska, miłosierdzie i pokój od Boga, naszego Ojca, i Chrystusa Jezusa, naszego Pana.
Vnto Timotheus my naturall sonne in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Iesus our Lord.
3 Jak cię prosiłem, gdy wybierałem się do Macedonii, byś pozostał w Efezie, [tak teraz proszę], abyś nakazał niektórym, żeby inaczej nie nauczali;
As I besought thee to abide still in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, so doe, that thou mayest warne some, that they teach none other doctrine,
4 I nie zajmowali się baśniami i niekończącymi się rodowodami, które wywołują raczej spory niż zbudowanie Boże, które [oparte jest] na wierze.
Neither that they giue heede to fables and genealogies which are endles, which breede questions rather then godly edifying which is by fayth.
5 Końcem zaś przykazania jest miłość [płynąca] z czystego serca, z prawego sumienia i wiary nieobłudnej;
For the end of the commandement is loue out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained.
6 Od czego niektórzy odstąpili i zwrócili się ku czczej gadaninie;
From the which things some haue erred, and haue turned vnto vaine iangling.
7 Chcąc być nauczycielami prawa, nie rozumiejąc ani tego, co mówią, ani tego, co stanowczo twierdzą.
They would be doctours of the Law, and yet vnderstande not what they speake, neither whereof they affirme.
8 Wiemy zaś, że prawo jest dobre, jeśli ktoś je właściwie stosuje.
And we knowe, that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully,
9 Rozumiemy, że prawo nie jest ustanowione dla sprawiedliwego, ale dla nieprawych i nieposłusznych, dla bezbożnych i grzeszników, dla niegodziwych i nieczystych, dla ojcobójców, matkobójców i morderców;
Knowing this, that the Lawe is not giuen vnto a righteous man, but vnto the lawles and disobedient, to the vngodly, and to sinners, to the vnholy, and to the prophane, to murtherers of fathers and mothers, to manslayers,
10 Dla rozpustników, mężczyzn współżyjących ze sobą, handlarzy ludźmi, dla kłamców, krzywoprzysięzców i dla wszystkiego, co [jest] przeciwne zdrowej nauce;
To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to lyers, to the periured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine,
11 Zgodnie z chwalebną ewangelią błogosławionego Boga, którą mi powierzono.
Which is according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which is committed vnto me.
12 Dziękuję więc temu, który mnie umocnił, Chrystusowi Jezusowi, naszemu Panu, że uznał mnie za wiernego, przeznaczając [mnie] do posługi;
Therefore I thanke him, which hath made me strong, that is, Christ Iesus our Lord: for he counted me faithfull, and put me in his seruice:
13 [Mnie], który przedtem byłem bluźniercą, prześladowcą i gnębicielem, ale dostąpiłem miłosierdzia, bo czyniłem to nieświadomie, w niewierze.
When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and an oppresser: but I was receiued to mercie: for I did it ignorantly through vnbeliefe.
14 A łaska naszego Pana stała się bardzo obfita wraz z wiarą i miłością, [która jest] w Chrystusie Jezusie.
But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and loue, which is in Christ Iesus.
15 Wiarygodne to słowa i godne całkowitego przyjęcia, że Chrystus Jezus przyszedł na świat, aby zbawić grzeszników, z których ja jestem pierwszy.
This is a true saying, and by all meanes worthy to be receiued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe.
16 Lecz dostąpiłem miłosierdzia po to, aby we mnie pierwszym Jezus Chrystus okazał wszelką cierpliwość jako przykład dla tych, którzy mają w niego uwierzyć ku życiu wiecznemu. (aiōnios g166)
Notwithstanding, for this cause was I receiued to mercie, that Iesus Christ should first shewe on me all long suffering vnto the ensample of them, which shall in time to come beleeue in him vnto eternall life. (aiōnios g166)
17 A Królowi wieków, nieśmiertelnemu, niewidzialnemu, jedynemu mądremu Bogu [niech będzie] cześć i chwała na wieki wieków. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Nowe vnto the King euerlasting, immortall, inuisible, vnto God onely wise, be honour and glorie, for euer, and euer, Amen. (aiōn g165)
18 Ten nakaz daję tobie, synu Tymoteuszu, według wcześniej wygłoszonych o tobie proroctw, abyś toczył zgodnie z nimi dobry bój;
This commandement commit I vnto thee, sonne Timotheus, according to the prophecies, which went before vpon thee, that thou by them shouldest fight a good fight,
19 Mając wiarę i czyste sumienie, które niektórzy odrzucili i stali się rozbitkami w wierze.
Hauing faith and a good conscience, which some haue put away, and as concerning faith, haue made shipwracke.
20 Do nich należą Hymenajos i Aleksander, których oddałem szatanowi, aby nauczyli się nie bluźnić.
Of whom is Hymeneus, and Alexander, whom I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they might learne not to blaspheme.
