I Jana 4
1 Umiłowani, nie wierzcie każdemu duchowi, ale badajcie duchy, czy są z Boga, gdyż wielu fałszywych proroków wyszło na świat.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 Po tym poznacie Ducha Bożego: każdy duch, który wyznaje, że Jezus Chrystus przyszedł w ciele, jest z Boga.
By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
3 Każdy zaś duch, który nie wyznaje, że Jezus Chrystus przyszedł w ciele, nie jest z Boga. Jest to [duch] antychrysta, o którym słyszeliście, że nadchodzi i już teraz jest na świecie.
and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and which is already in the world at this time.
4 Dzieci, wy jesteście z Boga i zwyciężyliście ich, ponieważ ten, który [jest] w was, jest większy niż [ten, który] jest na świecie.
You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
5 Oni są ze świata, dlatego mówią o świecie, a świat ich słucha.
They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them.
6 My jesteśmy z Boga. Kto zna Boga, słucha nas, kto nie jest z Boga, nie słucha nas. Po tym poznajemy ducha prawdy i ducha błędu.
We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.
7 Umiłowani, miłujmy się wzajemnie, gdyż miłość jest z Boga i każdy, kto miłuje, narodził się z Boga i zna Boga.
Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8 Kto nie miłuje, nie zna Boga, gdyż Bóg jest miłością.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 Przez to objawiła się miłość Boga ku nam, że Bóg posłał na świat swego jednorodzonego Syna, abyśmy żyli przez niego.
This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.
10 Na tym polega miłość, że nie my umiłowaliśmy Boga, ale że on nas umiłował i posłał swego Syna, [aby był] przebłaganiem za nasze grzechy.
And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Umiłowani, jeśli Bóg tak nas umiłował, to i my powinniśmy się wzajemnie miłować.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 Boga nikt nigdy nie widział, [ale] jeśli miłujemy się wzajemnie, Bóg w nas mieszka, a jego miłość jest w nas doskonała.
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.
13 Po tym poznajemy, że w nim mieszkamy, a on w nas, że dał nam ze swego Ducha.
By this we know that we remain in Him, and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit.
14 My zaś widzieliśmy i świadczymy, że Ojciec posłał Syna, aby był Zbawicielem świata.
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.
15 Każdy, kto wyzna, że Jezus jest Synem Bożym, w tym mieszka Bóg, a on w Bogu.
If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16 My poznaliśmy i uwierzyliśmy w miłość, którą ma Bóg do nas. Bóg jest miłością, a kto trwa w miłości, mieszka w Bogu, a Bóg w nim.
And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
17 W tym jest doskonała miłość w nas, abyśmy mieli ufność w dniu sądu, że jaki on jest, tacy i my jesteśmy na tym świecie.
In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him.
18 W miłości nie ma lęku, ale doskonała miłość usuwa lęk, bo lęk przynosi udrękę, [a] kto się boi, nie jest doskonały w miłości.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.
19 My go miłujemy, ponieważ on pierwszy nas umiłował.
We love because He first loved us.
20 Jeśli ktoś mówi: Miłuję Boga, a nienawidzi swego brata, jest kłamcą. Kto bowiem nie miłuje swego brata, którego widzi, jak może miłować Boga, którego nie widzi?
If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
21 A takie przykazanie mamy od niego, aby ten, kto miłuje Boga, miłował też swego brata.
And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.
