I Kronik 15
1 A gdy [Dawid] zbudował sobie domy w mieście Dawida, przygotował miejsce dla arki Boga i rozbił jej namiot.
Once David had finished building houses for himself in the City of David, he made a place for the Ark of God and set up a tent there.
2 Wtedy Dawid powiedział: Nie [wolno nikomu] nosić arki Boga oprócz Lewitów. Ich bowiem wybrał PAN, aby nosili arkę Boga i aby służyli mu na wieki.
Then he gave orders: “Nobody is to carry the Ark of God except the Levites, for the Lord himself chose them to carry the Ark of the Lord and to serve him forever.”
3 Dawid więc zebrał całego Izraela w Jerozolimie, aby przenieść arkę PANA na miejsce, które dla niej przygotował.
David summoned all of Israel to Jerusalem to bring the Ark of the Lord to the place he'd prepared for it.
4 Zgromadził też Dawid synów Aarona i Lewitów:
This is the list of the Levites, the sons of Aaron, that David called to attend:
5 Z synów Kehata: Uriela naczelnika i jego braci – stu dwudziestu;
From the sons of Kohath, Uriel (chief), and 120 of his relatives;
6 Z synów Merariego: Asajasza naczelnika i jego braci – dwustu dwudziestu;
from the sons of Merari, Asaiah (chief), with 220 of his relatives;
7 Z synów Gerszoma: Joela naczelnika i jego braci – stu trzydziestu;
from the sons of Gershom, Joel (chief), with 130 of his relatives;
8 Z synów Elisafana: Szemajasza naczelnika i jego braci – dwustu;
from the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah (chief), with 200 of his relatives;
9 Z synów Chebrona: Eliela naczelnika i jego braci – osiemdziesięciu;
from the sons of Hebron, Eliel (chief), with 80 of his relatives;
10 Z synów Uzziela: Amminadaba naczelnika i jego braci – stu dwunastu.
from the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab (chief), with 112 of his relatives.
11 Wtedy Dawid wezwał kapłanów Sadoka i Abiatara oraz Lewitów: Uriela, Asajasza, Joela, Szemajasza, Eliela i Amminadaba;
Then David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab.
12 I powiedział do nich: Jesteście naczelnikami rodów lewickich. Poświęćcie się wy i wasi bracia, abyście mogli przenieść arkę PANA, Boga Izraela, na miejsce, które dla niej przygotowałem.
He told them, “You are the heads of the Levite families. You must make yourselves and your relatives ceremonially clean and pure before you bring back the Ark of God, the Lord of Israel to the place I have made for it.
13 Ponieważ za pierwszym razem tego nie uczyniliście, PAN, nasz Bóg, zesłał na nas nieszczęście, bo nie szukaliśmy go tak, jak należy.
Because you weren't there the first time to carry the Ark the Lord our God burst out in violence against us. We didn't treat it in accordance with his instructions.”
14 Poświęcili się więc kapłani i Lewici, aby przenieść arkę PANA, Boga Izraela.
So the priests and the Levites purified themselves so that they could bring back the Ark of the Lord, the God of Israel.
15 Synowie Lewitów nieśli arkę Boga, jak rozkazał Mojżesz według słowa PANA, na swoich ramionach na drążkach, które przy niej były.
Then the Levites carried the Ark of God in the way that Moses had ordered, according to what God had said—on their shoulders using the special carrying poles.
16 Potem Dawid rozkazał naczelnikom Lewitów, aby ustanowili swoich braci śpiewakami przy instrumentach muzycznych: cytrach, harfach i cymbałach, aby rozbrzmiewał donośny głos pełen radości.
David also instructed the leaders of the Levites to assign from their relatives singers who would sing loudly for joy, accompanied by musicians playing lyres, and harps, and cymbals.
17 Lewici ustanowili Hemana, syna Joela, a z jego braci – Asafa, syna Berechiasza, a z synów Merariego, ich braci – Etana, syna Kuszajasza;
So the Levites assigned Heman the son of Joel; and from his relatives Asaph the son of Berechiah; and from the sons of Merari, their relatives, Ethan the son of Kushaiah.
18 A z nimi braci ich drugiego [stopnia]: Zachariasza, Bena, Jaaziela, Szemiramota, Jechiela, Unniego, Eliaba, Benajasza, Maasejasza, Mattitiasza, Elifela, Miknejasza, Obed-Edoma i Jejela – odźwiernych.
The second group of Levites consisted of Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, and Mikneiah; and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Jeiel.
19 A śpiewacy Heman, Asaf i Etan grali głośno na cymbałach z brązu.
The musicians Heman, Asaph, and Ethan were to strike the bronze cymbals;
20 Zachariasz, Jaziel, Szemiramot, Jechiel, Unni, Elijab, Maasejasz i Benajasz [grali] na cytrach na Alamot.
Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah were to play harps “according to alamoth,”
21 A Mattitiasz, Elifel, Miknejasz, Obed-Edom, Jejel i Azaziasz [grali] na harfach na Seminit i prowadzili śpiew.
while Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah were to lead the music with lyres “according to sheminith.”
22 A Kenaniasz, naczelnik Lewitów, odpowiadał za pieśni. Kierował śpiewaniem, bo był uzdolniony.
Kenaniah, the leader of the Levites in singing, was chosen to lead the music because of his ability.
23 Berekiasz i Elkana [byli] odźwiernymi przy arce.
Berechiah and Elkanah were appointed to guard the Ark.
24 A kapłani: Szebaniasz, Joszafat, Netaneel, Amasaj, Zachariasz, Benajasz i Eliezer grali na trąbach przed arką Boga, a Obed-Edom i Jechiasz [byli] odźwiernymi przy arce.
Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests were to blow the trumpets in front of the Ark of God. Obed-edom and Jehiah were also appointed to guard the Ark.
25 Tak więc Dawid, starsi Izraela i tysiącznicy wyruszyli, aby z radością przenieść arkę przymierza PANA z domu Obed-Edoma.
Then David, the elders of Israel, and the senior army commanders, went with great celebration to bring back the Ark of the Lord's Agreement from the home of Obed-Edom.
26 I kiedy Bóg wspomógł Lewitów niosących arkę przymierza PANA, złożyli w ofierze siedem wołów i siedem baranów.
Because God helped the Levites who carried the Ark of the Lord's Agreement, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
27 A Dawid [był] ubrany w szatę z bisioru, podobnie jak wszyscy Lewici, którzy nieśli arkę, śpiewacy i Kenaniasz, kierujący śpiewem. Dawid miał także na sobie lniany efod.
David wore a robe of fine linen like all the Levites who were carrying the Ark, and the singers and Kenaniah the leader of the music and singers. David also wore a linen ephod.
28 I w ten sposób cały Izrael prowadził arkę przymierza PANA wśród radosnych okrzyków, przy dźwięku kornetu, trąb i cymbałów, grając na cytrach i harfach.
So all of Israel brought back the Ark of the Lord's Agreement with a lot of shouting, accompanied by horns, trumpets, and cymbals, and music played on harps and lyres.
29 I kiedy arka przymierza PANA wchodziła do miasta Dawida, Mikal, córka Saula, wyglądała przez okno i zobaczyła króla Dawida tańczącego i grającego. I wzgardziła nim w swoim sercu.
But as Ark of the Lord's Agreement entered the City of David, Saul's daughter Michal looked down from a window. Seeing David the king jumping and dancing for joy, she was full of contempt for him.
