1 Modlitwa Mojżesza, męża Bożego. Panie! tyś bywał ucieczką naszą od narodu do narodu.
A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, thou hast bene our habitation from generation to generation.
2 Pierwej niżli góry stanęły i niżliś wykształtował ziemię, i okrąg świata, oto zaraz od wieku aż na wieki tyś jest Bogiem.
Before the mountaines were made, and before thou hadst formed the earth, and the world, euen from euerlasting to euerlasting thou art our God.
3 Ty znowu człowieka w proch obracasz, a mówisz: Nawróćcie się synowie ludzcy.
Thou turnest man to destruction: againe thou sayest, Returne, ye sonnes of Adam.
4 Albowiem tysiąc lat przed oczyma twemi są jako dzień wczorajszy, który przeminął, i jako straż nocna.
For a thousande yeeres in thy sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
5 Powodzią porywasz ich; są jako sen, i jako trawa, która z poranku rośnie.
Thou hast ouerflowed them: they are as a sleepe: in the morning he groweth like the grasse:
6 Z poranku kwitnie i rośnie; ale w wieczór bywa pokoszona, i usycha.
In the morning it florisheth and groweth, but in the euening it is cut downe and withereth.
7 Albowiem od gniewu twego giniemy, a popędliwością twoją jesteśmy przestraszeni.
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
8 Położyłeś nieprawości nasze przed sobą, tajne występki nasze przed jasnością oblicza twego.
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sinnes in the light of thy countenance.
9 Skąd wszystkie dni nasze nagle przemijają dla gniewu twego; jako słowa niszczeją lata nasze.
For all our dayes are past in thine anger: we haue spent our yeeres as a thought.
10 Dni wieku naszego jest lat siedmdziesiąt, a jeźli kto duższy, lat ośmdziesiąt, a to, co najlepszego w nich, tylko kłopot i nędza, a gdy to pominie, tedy prędko odlatujemy.
The time of our life is threescore yeeres and ten, and if they be of strength, fourescore yeeres: yet their strength is but labour and sorowe: for it is cut off quickly, and we flee away.
11 Ale któż zna srogość gniewu twego? albo kto bojąc się ciebie zna zapalczywość twoję?
Who knoweth the power of thy wrath? for according to thy feare is thine anger.
12 Nauczże nas obliczać dni naszych, abyśmy przywiedli serce do mądrości.
Teach vs so to nomber our dayes, that we may apply our heartes vnto wisdome.
13 Nawróćże się, Panie! dokądże odwłaczasz? zlitujże się nad sługami twymi.
Returne (O Lord, howe long?) and be pacified toward thy seruants.
14 Nasyćże nas z poranku miłosierdziem twojem; tak, abyśmy wesoło śpiewać i radować się mogli po wszystkie dni nasze.
Fill vs with thy mercie in the morning: so shall we reioyce and be glad all our dayes.
15 Rozweselże nas według dni, którycheś nas utrapił, według lat, którycheśmy doznali złego.
Comfort vs according to the dayes that thou hast afflicted vs, and according to the yeeres that we haue seene euill.
16 Niech będzie znaczna przy sługach twoich sprawa twoja, a chwała twoja przy synach ich.
Let thy worke bee seene towarde thy seruants, and thy glory vpon their children.
17 Niech będzie przyjemność Pana, Boga naszego, przy nas, a sprawę rąk naszych utwierdź między nami, sprawę rąk naszych utwierdź, Panie!
And let the beautie of the Lord our God be vpon vs, and direct thou the worke of our hands vpon vs, euen direct the worke of our handes.
