For the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
2 W Salemie jest przybytek jego, a mieszkanie jego na Syonie.
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
3 Tamci połamał ogniste strzały łuków, tarczę, i miecz, i wojnę. (Sela)
There he brake the arrows of the bow; the shield, and the sword, and the battle. (Selah)
4 Zacnymeś się stał i dostojnym z gór łupiestwa.
Glorious art thou [and] excellent, from the mountains of prey.
5 Ci, którzy byli serca mężnego, podani są na łup, zasnęli snem swoim, nie znaleźli mężni rycerze siły w rękach swych.
The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep; and none of the men of might have found their hands.
6 Od gromienia twego, o Boże Jakóbowy! twardo zasnęły i wozy i konie.
At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
7 Tyś jest, ty bardzo straszliwy; i któż jest, coby się ostał przed obliczem twojem, gdy się zapali gniew twój?
Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
8 Gdy z nieba dajesz słyszeć sąd swój, ziemia się lęka i ucicha;
Thou didst cause sentence to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
9 Gdy Bóg na sąd powstaje, aby wybawił wszystkich pokornych na ziemi. (Sela)
When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. (Selah)
10 Zaiste i gniew człowieczy chwalić cię musi, a ty ostatek zagniewania skrócisz.
Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the residue of wrath shalt thou gird upon thee.
11 Śluby czyńcie, a oddawajcie je Panu, Bogu waszemu, wszyscy, którzyście około niego, wszyscy przynoście dary strasznemu.
Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
12 Onci odejmuje ducha książętom, a on jest na postrach królom ziemskim.
He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
