Jozuego 14

1 A toć jest, co dziedzictwem wzięli synowie Izraelscy w ziemi Chananejskiej, a co prawem dziedzicznem oddali im w osiadłość Eleazar kapłan i Jozue, syn Nunów, i przedniejsi z ojców z pokolenia synów Izraelskich.

And these are the countries which the children of Israel obtained as an inheritance in the land of Canaan, which Elazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the divisions of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for an inheritance unto them,

2 Losem dzieląc dziedzictwo ich, jako był rozkazał Pan przez Mojżesza, dziewięciorgu pokoleniu i połowie pokolenia.

By the lot as their inheritance: as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and the half tribe.

3 Albowiem Mojżesz był oddał dziedzictwo dwom pokoleniom i połowie pokolenia za Jordanem; ale Lewitom nie dał był dziedzictwa między nimi.

For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half tribe on the other side of the Jordan; but unto the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.

4 Bo było synów Józefowych dwa pokolenia, Manasesowe i Efraimowe; ani dali działu Lewitom w ziemi, oprócz miast ku mieszkaniu, z przedmieściami ich dla bydła ich i dla trzód ich.

For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Menasseh and Ephraim; therefore they gave no portion unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their open spaces for their cattle and for their substance.

5 Jako rozkazał Pan Mojżeszowi, tak uczynili synowie Izraelscy, i podzielili ziemię.

As the Lord had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel, and so divided they the land.

6 Tedy przyszli synowie Judowi do Jozuego w Galgal; i rzekł do niego Kaleb, syn Jefuna Kenezejskiego: Ty wiesz, co mówił Pan do Mojżesza, męża Bożego, o mnie i o tobie w Kades Barnie.

And the children of Judah came near unto Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Yephunneh the Kenizzite said unto him, Thou well knowest the word which the Lord spoke unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thyself in Kadesh-barnea'.

7 Czterdzieści mi lat było, gdy mnie słał Mojżesz, sługa Pański, z Kades Barny ku przeszpiegowaniu ziemi, i odniosłem mu tę rzecz, jako było w sercu mojem.

Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea' to spy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.

8 Lecz bracia moi, którzy chodzili ze mną, skazili serce ludowi; alem ja przecię szedł statecznie za Panem, Bogiem moim.

But my brethren who had gone up with me caused the heart of the people to be faint; but I wholly followed the Lord my God.

9 I przysiągł Mojżesz dnia onego, mówiąc: Zaiste ziemia, którą deptała noga twoja, przyjdzie tobie w dziedzictwo, i synom twoim aż na wieki, przeto żeś statecznie chodził za Panem, Bogiem moim.

And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy foot hath trodden shall belong to thee for an inheritance, and to thy children for ever; because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.

10 A teraz oto przedłużył żywota mego Pan, jako powiedział; już są czterdzieści i pięć lat od onego czasu, jako to mówił Pan do Mojżesza, a jako chodzili Izraelczycy po puszczy; a teraz oto ja dziś mam osiemdziesiąt i pięć lat:

And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he hath spoken: it is now forty and five years since the Lord spoke this word unto Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty and five years old.

11 A jeszcze i dziś takiem duży, jakom był w on czas, gdy mię wysłał Mojżesz; a jako moc moja była na on czas, taka jest moc moja i teraz ku bojowaniu, i ku wychodzeniu i przychodzeniu.

I am yet this day as strong as I was on the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, and to go out, and to come in.

12 A tak teraz daj mi tę górę, o której powiedział Pan dnia onego; boś ty słyszał dnia onego, iż tam są Enakitowie, i miasta wielki a obronne; będzieli Pan ze mną, wypędzę je, jako mi obiecał Pan.

Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spoke on that day; for thou didst hear on that day that the 'Anakim were there, and great fortified cities: perhaps the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as the Lord hath spoken.

13 I błogosławił mu Jozue, a dał Hebron Kalebowi, synowi Jefunowemu, w dziedzictwo.

And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron unto Caleb the son of Yephunneh for an inheritance.

14 A tak dostał się Hebron Kalebowi, synowi Jefuna Kenezejskiego, w dziedzictwo aż do dnia tego, przeto że statecznie chodził za Panem, Bogiem Izraelskim.

Therefore did Hebron become the inheritance of Caleb the son of Yephunneh the Kenizzite unto this day; for the cause that he had wholly followed the Lord the God of Israel.

15 A zwano przedtem Hebron miasto Arba, który Arba był człowiekiem wielkim między Enakity; i uspokoiła się ziemia od wojen

And the name of Hebron was aforetimes Kiryatharba', who was the greatest man among the 'Anakim. And the land had rest from war.
